@SanMateo I've tried that, and it's pretty great.
I just can’t find anything better than my Mac, Ableton Suite and all the goodness and variety of all my plugins and full sample library and Komplete latest gubbins etc with Push 2 and a pair of headphones....whatever I try...all the units limitations just seem silly when I go back to that...just a humble opinion
@DaveMagoo I have that set up as well, except push 1 instead. Personally, I like variety and moving between different worlds and mind sets keeps it fresh for me. Though i do have more fun with the elektron gear than ableton/push combo. Also, if there was some sore of max for live plugin that could give me all of the trig conditions that elektron has i would be stoked. If you know of one (or suite of them) please share.
Do you know you can do step automation on push?
Better in terms of what? Features? Sure!
For immediacy and playful simplicity favoring spontaneous composition wherever you are?
Not necessarily. For the latter, I prefer dumbed-down iPad apps
Yep, and for some reason I never got the vibe with it. I wonder how much push 2 adds to it though. I have thought about upgrading for a bit now. I forgot about the creative essentials pack. Maybe I will pull those out and give it another go. I still love live, and do all my tracking with it, but from a immediate sense of play I never got over the working in front of a computer vibe.
Live is just different, if they never upgraded it again I would still keep a live set up to use everyday as that's where it all ends up for me, but live + push2 doesn't feel like an mpc, or like using elektron gear, or Roland gear for that matter. I know sometimes we think it's about the result but Imo it's about the journey and the destination and I love the fact that we have all of these instruments available to us and that they feel different , have unique workflows that lead to different endeavors musically, and begrudgingly same time I still wish they all had pads that feel like the mpc, ableton's follow actions, and elektrons P.locks.... I guess it's a wonderful time to be making music on these things. The iPad just compliments them all in a way I could only have dreamed of not long ago.
okay you know about this already
but how cool is this

@kobamoto
Ya, that function alone has me GASin
did you check the fb video that shows the ableton live control beta in action
@kobamoto
Oh shit no... I need to seek it out now.

I use iPhone for that fix...mainly gadget so I can export to Ableton...I guess whatever gets the creative juices flowing is a winner
Absolutely. And there's no general rule of which combo works best for whom, it's rather a process each individual has to walk through on their own and find the best match.
(Although I can happily confirm that Gadget is one of the few apps that work surprisingly well on an iPhone for me, and there's even a free trial available as "Gadget LE".)
Ooh, that's great. They're turning the Live in to the Touch.
so simple, so powerful lol ... (like Mario says)
@kobamoto wonder if they are ever going to come out with the battery pack.
Also, no ADSR envelope right?
yep/ nope on the envelope but still
honestly I'm not too crazy about that batt pack they're gonna put out, especially if it's just for regular batteries in a handle.... seriously a handle?, not sure about that one
Just use a USB battery pack and a ripcord adapter. Also for with Digitakt, which I have tried.
ya, the handle thing is a bit weird.
ya, I have been looking at a few different ones people have recommended on Elektronauts. I just ordered a stand for the digi twins and wanted to add a battery pack under it that would power them both.

there is no attack which is a shame.
I could remember which part of the envelope it was missing. Ya, that seems like an odd omission to me.
I think they will eventually rectify that as I think it's their number one complaint, but the fact that the machine is still so capable is probably making them slow roll it
constantly amazed at what is possible with so little connected in the right way
Unfortunately i heard the dev was not interested in adding an attack on the env.
seriously?!!!
he give a reason?
