Sorry, I got my question wrong.
I meant to ask: can you have a loop in AudioShare on your iPhone and then use AirDrop to move it over into Esion on your iPad?
It only reads samples with numbers in the name from the card (ie. 01.wav, 02.wav, 03.wav etc.).
Also when saving banks to the card they are 01.es1, 02.es1 etc. etc.
It's also good practice to downsample the files to 32k prior to import since the pitch-interpolation routines are not that good when pitching up which would be needed if the source sample is saved at 44.1k in order to play it at it's original pitch (high frequency sounds turn into 'clipping sandpaper').
I've just got 2 banks on the card a blank one since there's no 'clear all' function, all samples have to be manually deleted and the factory bank (there's no restore from rom) and some samples I downsampled long, long time ago...
It does have some kind of low-pass filter on the input to avoid too much aliasing when recording samples with high frequency content.
Thankfully it does remember everything when turning off the unit so no need to manually save when turning off power or if there would be a power interruption.
Most fun to be had is to start with a blank unit and work from there...
not sure if esion will work like that
thanks Samu
You're welcome, my smart media card reader is messed as are some of the early backups so I have just a 'empty' unit with the factory content at the moment..
But here's an early HaQ video with the ES-1, always makes me smile
cool, one of the few from Mr. HaQ that I didn't know I missed.
did he draw those paintings I wonder?
Would love to see / hear this in action!
I'll see what I can do. The looper is neat, but you can also sequence any other effect.
One nice trick is to apply an LFO to the hot knob/expression pedal parameter.
To be honest though, just having the looper sync perfectly with the Digitakt is enough. The H9 is crazy enough by itself.
I bet he did, given that the vid must be from the better Bob Ross times
If you have a/thinking about getting a Digitakt one thing that is a thorn is the sample/pattern management. This guy has been independently developing a tool for it for awhile now. Newest version will solve a ton of issues. Highly recommend checking it out.

is this for saving and backing up songs/projects or?.... how is it better than what elektron is doing?
btw thanks for this heads up didn't know about it.
@kobamoto
you're welcome.
Elektron really only has the transfer app for moving samples on and off the digi. What sucks is that, you don't know what samples are associated to what project so if you want to do some sort of cleanup good luck. You have to go through each project separately and right down each sample you're using. The new version of elk herd allows you to organize and purge project samples. Move patterns from one project to another (no way to do that previously). And best of all its free. Not sure if you spend anytime over at the Elektron forum but there is a lot of DIY projects over there worth checking out.
what platform is it on, it would be wonderful if it was on iOS, I guess that src thing might be a thing of the past now... is this elk herd the best thing right now in your experience and is it just for organizing or does it actually load and save projects?
and yes, I'll be researching it up overthere as well
@kobamoto
Looks like Android, Chrome, MAC, Linux, Windows. No iOS, which is a bit of a bummer. Maybe when iPad OS lands?
The original version of the app didn’t offer much functionality over what Elektron provided, this soon to be 3.0 release is where it’s at. Both the old and the upcoming version would save and load projects.
It’s a good site to feed the Elektron lust.
thanks
Anytime 👍🙂
Thks !! 😁
In case you meant the app (Werkbench) then, yes. Each of its parameters can be set per step.
Not sure if this has been shared already, but you should definitively check out this guy’s videos on the Digitakt and Digitone:
Yep i shared this one, however great you found this guy. Great tunes and such a lovely bloke.
I recently finally got a DT and have been wondering this. While learning how I want to use it, there are obviously some unneeded samples and projects and eventually I should clean up but it’s kind of ridiculous that either samples can’t be redundantly saved in projects or warnings given if used in projects. Thanks for the tip, will check it out!
say whaat?
anybody using this?
Looks cool and only $7 US , he does editors for the Roland Boutiques too..... nice find👍

I don't have a MS yet but I got a D 05
Although I find it a little amusing to use the Model Samples when Ableton is running anyway but in this case the MS may double as a nice hardware controller, especially because:
I guess that includes all MIDI CC assignments too, no?
I would think so but..
Digitakt as 8-voice mono synth. Wild.
Well, I just tried midi for the first time. I hooked up the Digitakt to my iPad, and used audiobus to host some synths.
And holy smoke, it's amazing. So easy, and the AudioBus state-saving means it's actually useful. Now my Digitakt has chords! And all those synths I never use on my iPad are also useful.
I'm just naming the AB presets the same as the Digitakt patterns, and so far It Just Works™.
Now, let's see about resampling all this…
Just as an FYI, the Digitakt web app for organizing samples is now in public Alpha. I had a go at it yesterday, still not a perfect solution but better than what is offered between C6/Transfer (YMMV).
