Wow, must be such a gas to play a grand and spacious piece like this all in a single go.
Well done !
Damn , you really sank your teeth into this one... dripping with atmosphere.. languorous melancholy delivered exquisitely.
And perfect soundtrack for poor ol Nosfre.
@icsleepers
Sheesh, what a fab collection of flavours and all twisting wonderfully together. Crunch and silk, dreamy and propulsive .. a real treat !

How many of our favourite songs do we like the very first time we hear them ? Lots of mine were "growers"
But this one crouchie I immedialty bonded with !
It wouldnt sound out of place on a gus gus album.
3 listens so far .. there will be more
Lovely vibe to this and excellent use of the Nosferatu clips. Only thing that doesn't work 100 percent for me is the pad which I find a little obtrusive as it is.
Thank you! Very kind words. Will check out gus gus. Finding Gadget so much more productive, but frustrated by the lack of effects. Cheers!
@theconnactic Your vocal is highly reminiscent or Pocket Symphony era Air to my ears, and again I really like the newer more edgy direction, with the strong trip-hop influence, it's great to hear your musicianship put to use in a more arty style of music, it creates a really interesting blend of ideas. Keep it going
Nice balanced mix on this .. dare I say a Doors vibe ?
Are these not two entirely different songs ?
Whatever, I prefer the second .. very pro sounding . what's your work flow studs ?
@richardyot The gardens and outside areas need tending Richard.
Chimes to celebrate! The Cup tips its ding-dong-dangs somewhere between Happy Christmas and Twisted Serial Killer. Tricky business is this bell tone/melody game, but one you’ve nailed here on this tune. Cooler semi-abrasive verse vocals into the warming Persil white clean hand washed chorus delivery, conquers dynamics and a top shelf idea. Asking how many vocal tracks used here because to these ears, it feels as though it could be close to save to preset time. Clarity of confidence flowing from within.
Bass bullying is becoming your musical norman (much applause from here) stretching deep, lithe muscles of its melody through the song until we punters are sucked dry by the interest levels it creates. Cups of deluxe. A.
Fantastic production on this. Great Vocal performance.
. would have liked the vocal phrase to have developed into a true song. nice vibe lots of potential here ! Like it a lot

cool track. hope you develp this with a tighter structure. there are some great elements
Yes you are very correct..... I Fucked up when I was adding/pasting the tracks from Soundcloud to Audio Bus forum. Sorry about that... But thanks for listening all the same.....
As for work flow...... I use whatever I can get mt sticky mitts on ( using iPad & Desktop together....... I assume that's what you meant?)...... But when I make tune, I listen to the vocals first, then work & build on the acapella( Bassline/chord progression, etc) & build it all from the acapella.
@crouchie Congratulations Sir.
Meg: I’ve found our wedding song.
Harry: Great.... Bullshit by Ed Sheeran?
Meg: Nah.... ‘Not Smiling’ by Crouchie ....from The Club.
Harry: He’s good. I got dizzy to ‘Welcome.’ Did you get the Vic to change the vows?
Meg: Yep. Money and stocking top again.
Harry: Excellent. So, I ask if ‘there are chemicals here?’....
Meg: Yes you do. And I respond with, yes, and ‘there are places to hide’
BP. Those lines are fucking brilliant don’t you think? Wanna wrap? Two for a score?
Meg: The bass drum is ridiculously rabid.
Harry: And I cannot wait to hit the floor with grandma tonight. She’ll love his voice on this.
BP: This is an A.
@Bluepunk great review, and for the first time ever I’m now looking forward to that royal wedding. I’ll keep an eye out for that City top amongst the courtly entourage.
An “A”? That is very nearly, but not quite, as good a piece of news as the Albion staying up. You are very kind 😉
@richardyot Thank you. Want a ticket for the discotheque tonight? Don’t they all look splendid? Roll on the Cup Final that’s all I’m saying.....
@crouchie Pleasure. Chris Hughton is a gentle man. Love the bloke. See you back at the seaside from August.
splendid tunes ! I really like the sunset vibe. Gorgeous keys.
this ones made of patterning, groovebox, zeeon and a dab of peyote...
Badrico - Loved it - love the evolving of different rhythms etc. Thank you for sharing your music.
This is a cool track. Very balanced and in control with a solid feel, even when new ideas would come into play. You took me on a ride, right where you wanted to go. Nicely done, looking forward to more!
Thanks obijohn !
Thanks, StMichaels, cheers, badrico
Nice track & well mixed. Actuallly, it reminds me of the music out of the old "Annie" action movies in the 80's...... "Terminator" & "The Running Man"...... Infact even John Carpenters stuff (Escape from New your come to mind)..... Nice mate.
Thanks studs, cinematic resonance is always sweet !
cheers
This is not a new song, but I spent time remastering it recently. Now I'm deciding whether or not to add it to an upcoming release. I rather like it, but suspect I've been listening to it too long to be the best judge of its value. A simple (and vague) rumination on the songwriting process, thrown together quickly as a freeform exercise of sorts. Lyrics below.
Feel
The Sun against your skin
Feel like a pharaoh's friend
Without the bloodshed
Only soapy water
And Hear
The people on the screen
Talk about plants and things
Like they really mean it
Without a trace of irony
The closest thing to meaning
Is when there's nothing you need
But a meaningful feeling
Is to find something without meaning
Tear it down
Build it up again
The closest thing to meaning
Is when there's nothing you need
But a meaningful feeling
Is to find something without meaning
Tear it down
Build it up again
See
See where the highways lead
Watch it from the bumper seat
As the junkers follow
Leave a trail of wrecks below
Read
Magazines while angels weep
Tidal waves lap at your feet
As the muses
Choke on air conditioning
The closest thing to meaning
When you have everything
But a meaningful feeling
Is to find something without meaning
Tear it down
Build it up again
The closest thing to meaning
Is when there's nothing you need
But a meaningful feeling
Is to find something without meaning
Tear it down
Build it up again
Like this very much, really nice arrangement, uncluttered but full sounding. Particularly like the electric piano in the background. The switch between vocal effects/styles really works well. Got a really good moody feel to it. Need to check out ur new EP, it’s on my list! Great stuff
