You know this works for me. Slightly chaotic arrangement (intentional of course) is great and I like the mix, although at first it felt a bit tin, in actual fact I got in to it by the end. Yep, really like it, great stuff
@crouchie Thank you from us.
Meg: Can you spin "Welcome" again please Crouchie?
Harry: Can we have another speed ball please BP?
BP: Go home. It's been two fucking weeks you idiots!
@aaronpc Tribalistical drumage played by squadrons of synchronised swallows giving "gosh" guidance to aching (YES) arrangements that slide, or glide, past each other on a reversed heater skelter. There you go, defying gravity again. It is what you do. Could your singing be hoisted up the pole a tad? An A.
@trackedout Thanks mate, appreciate your views. Was getting worried about you. Good to hear you back twisting a musical skewer into the soft temple of popular music. Thankful there are young upstarts like you who refuse to buckle under the buck and continue to fuck em. LOVE the sharpened blade edge mix wrapped in treble, yet still the bass dumps its tons of beauty on the table.....Clever. Your vocals are confident. A.
@crouchie, @enc, @theconnactic, @obijohn, @badrico I just wanted to personally thank you each for taking the time to listen and writing your supportive comments. The month of June is here now, yikes! I'll do my best to up the production game and also put aside more time to listen and to provide some of my input to the music submitted here as well
I completely agree. I often leave my tracks a little sparse for more layering either by an instrumentalist or a singer. I'm not sure at this point what else I want to say in this track, in terms of a lead melody or some other percussive element perhaps... I've committed to making this album a long-term project so there's a chance in future SOTM that a remix or another fully fleshed out version of this track idea could come into being. Luckily it was sample based and saved as a preset in Gadget so the variation possibilities are very accessible.
Same here - I am new to IOS music making and wanted to thank everyone for their comments on my second attempt on the IPAD. All the best!
Thanks @richardyot @Bluepunk Too kind. I've been relisteningifying to it on different speakers, and now think I need to do some additional EQing to clear up the low end. While I'm at it, I guess I'll give another go at the vocals. Maybe another overdub? We'll see.
Did a very poor job at reviews this month. Numerous excuses, and it's gotten to be kind of awkward to keep pinging this thread with new entries, so I'll contribute to next month's feedback whether I submit a track or not. Might nudge me to speed up my workflow. @Bluepunk I'll be back in touch soon.
Thanks for the feedback. You’re absolutely right on the length. Arranging turns me off, but I know it is essential for listening pleasure. Will try on the next one.
@LucidMusicInc it's a nice chill out track, I particularly like the well-constructed and minimal groove (that kick sound is lovely). It works well for an ambient track, kinda washes over you. It's a bit long at over 7 minutes but that's par for the course in this genre.
@trackedout Quite a laid-back one by your standards, the mix is a bit fizzy and mid-rangy sounding for me, and the vocal treatment probably a bit too strong IMO. The bass line is fantastic though, and the structure as chaotic as ever, but in a cool way.
Thank you! I’ve begun coming up with some parts to layer over this beat using the Kapro Orchestral pack for Module which will make the track sound a lot more cinematic and feel less repetitive.
