So what is the price for AUv3 pro Q2 actually?
Not sure I always buy them when they have a sale but I think full price it's £38.99.
Definitely waiting for sales on these again too.
Yep. Maybe it will be cheaper on release.
Good to have more pro level gear on the platform. I’ll be curious to see the performance/cpu usage.
Glad that they they have concretely laid down the price. Hopefully that’ll help to subvert this 50 page thread on pricing - in the making.
Now, on the topic of pricing.. It’d be a bit much for me to spend at the moment, but if owning the AU also gave access to the Auria versions (I don’t have any at the moment) and performance use was ok, then I’d probably pick up a few select ones
Do you have a link to the pricing of th AUv3 please?
Someone else mentioned it a few posts up.
You can see them in the Auria Store, so use that as a reference
Maybe they make a bundle for iOS as well like with their plug-ins (which are on a 25% sale right now....but still more expensive than a full DAW).
I find the iOS prices O.K. so far but their plug-ins are just way to expensive. They are great but there is a lot competition.
Pricing info can be found in this thread:
https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/11251/auria-pro-iap-info-and-pricing/p1
(Scroll down to the 2nd post, which shows the prices for all Auria IAPs)
Absolutely. They’re not taking anything away from anybody. We have what we paid for and much as I love free stuff, I don’t feel entitled (or miffed). I’ll grab Pro-Q 2 and Saturn right off the bat.
I really hope so. Full screen!
Nice to have a friend like that that can influence you that way!
Safe to say the entire suite of Fab AUv3 will soon be yours too
I was wondering if the price will be different for the AUv3 versions. Apparently same price was confirmed by fabfilter but i cant find the link to that confirmation. Hoping they might have a lower price to start off with.
Confirmation was on the Facebook page linked to in the original post that started the thread. FF occasionally have sales, but personally I think the pricing is fine, still way cheaper than the desktop and as others have already said it's not reasonable to expect niche apps with modest sales to sell for $3.99 or even $9.99 if we want a thriving platform that is worthwhile for devs.
thanks for the intel :-) I don't have facebook so i can't read all the comments, only the initial statement so price was not confirmed for AUv3 at that point.
I’m in the “already got all these in Auria” camp but I’m super excited that they’re releasing as AUv3. For my part, since I do all my recording and mixing/mastering in Auria, I don’t see a need to repurchase the AU versions, unless Cubasis can get on the ball and actually add busses and audio routing, which I just don’t see happening in the next 5 years if ever (sorry if that sounds like frustration but yeah it is
). But if that miracle does happen I will most certainly be jumping on the AU versions! One really nice thing about the Auria versions is the beautiful full screen mode and seamless parameter automation. Makes me hopeful that Auria will use this as incentive to add support for AU full screen mode and AU “live recording” parameter automation. Only good things can come out of this!
Woah. OK, now someone quickly make a host worthy of them.
. (Ps no coffee yet, so bitch mode is engaged)
Indeed.
I would personally use them most with AUM, apeMatrix and Audiobus, worthy hosts for live performance recording with these plugins. I would definitely trade the Auria versions back for the AUv3 versions if I could
Now I'm very happy I refrained from purchasing Pro-R and Pro-L2 upgrade in Auria, testing them in the beta was enough to alleviate the temptation
These are two I will surely pick up at some point after release.
Yes.
Not the kind of host I am looking for though. That territory is well seeded. I am more of a photoshopping hipster and less of a Bob Ross.
I'm thinking this is going to open the floodgates for more desktop AUs moving over, especially if L2 comes shortly thereafter.
I've seen a lot of people say they bought Turnado through Auria, but that's never been true. It provided/provides a link to the appstore to buy the Turnado or Wow ios apps from sugarbytes. If you have either installed then it unlocks the desktop version of the plugin within Auria, because Auria basically has a wrapper for using desktop plugins. I've never been able to tell if these plugins within Auria are up-to-date, or are older versions. I guess I should research that more.
Unfortunately, if we want the iOS fabfilter AUs, we'll also have to buy them direct, but maybe they can somehow workout a similar arrangement as sugarbytes.
Or maybe the desktop versions within Auria can maintain their existence for the added value of having deeper desktop style integration options.
I think I have all of them in Auria except for MB.
I personally really dislike Auria mainly for its UI and UX though, and dislike every other iOS DAW for various reasons, but I'm definitely up for buying the iOS AU versions and at least having the potential for different workflow options.
I actually think these iOS AU moves will put pressure on the DAW makers to bring much deeper features to iOS.
Here here! Yarr! (Spills mead)
This is incredible news. I own them all, though, and the only ones I will for sure re-buy are Timeless2, Saturn, and Pro-R. The rest I'm perfectly fine using in Auria since they're mostly mixing tools.
Although I echo another poster...this sort of makes me question AP's long-term viability. I think it's good enough to use over the competition without the Fabfilter advantage, but I don't know how many others will. I will admit throwing them in Cubasis would be a nice, efficient luxury.
Believe, @oat_phipps, as long as the competition doesn’t have near as much routing flexibility (but perhaps BM3 will add this next update), near as much audio editing tools, a disk streaming sampler etc etc etc., I pretty much doubt Auria will lose the #1 sales spot among iOS DAWs, let alone become inviable. Auria is perfectly fine and “pro” without the FabFilters or any IAPs (and let’s not forget the other fantastic Auria-exclusive plug-ins like MicroWarmer or Drumagog or sample libraries like the Salamander piano).
The FabFilter is, in fact, great news for the platform - and it might even get more big plug-in houses to follow suit (I’m talking to you, Celemony, Izotope and Native Instruments) - but also might be great news for Auria, if it ends up serving as stimulus for @WaveMachineLabs to add much need features to Auria, now it’s not the exclusive hub for FabFilters anymore: loop recording, punch on the fly, plug-in reordering and one-button track duplicate.
I guarantee that the native Auria versions will be considerably more efficient than the AUs in Cubasis. We can run some tests once they are released, but seriously, who can run 25 instances of any AU in any host? Auria native plugins can do this on 4 year old hardware.
I love Hugh Jackman.
Everyone’s an artist these days lol
Have you seen this video? I cringe what he does at the end....Rembrandt being one of my art heroes
Hehe, yah, I have seen it, classic. I love how popular Bob Ross shirts are on kids these days too. Not sure exactly what the source of the popularity is these days, guess he is a respected meme? Gotta love the guy. I tend to like the old masters and the ‘newer’ floor drip painting goof balls equally. My favorite falls somewhat in the middle with the trippy west coast US art being done that is clearly abstract and stream of conciousness but demonstrates dedicated craftsmanship. Like wannabe architects on acid heh.
This is making the rounds again. Heard a story on the news that Rembrandt took small amounts of LSD.......don’t know who his dealer was but I think it’s bullshite like most news
