@ChrisG you can slice and dice the stock loops.
Right... The first thing to say is it looks gorgeous on the Air. There's a nice option to change the background to a set of similar presets or use your own snaps from your camera roll.
But more importantly, the sound - full, polished, quality. Remember that in terms of interface, the dev has built on the original Electrify so those concepts remain, but here they are taken up a few notches of functionality, and it's all very intuitive in workflow terms. The parameters you want to change are offered at the stages you'd want.
One essential thing to note is that many actions require a double-tap. All pages have their features explained with a tap of the ? icon.
Like the original, you have rows and columns. You can mix and match the loops you create in the rows, but only one in each column at any time. You mix them in and out just by tapping them as the sequence plays. You'll understand it immediately.
The master effects and EQ sections are exactly as you'd want them and enable some superb control. You can of course tweak parameters at single hit or loop level too. Pulling loops in is a simple case of double-tapping, selecting, editing and placing. The synth has an awesome randomiser - demonstrating the range superbly.
The only thing I can say right now that concerns is memory usage - just by doing standard piano roll additions I've got memory warnings, and that's on an Air.
Anyway, overall, after just an hour playing I can say this is a fantastic app. I'm sure the dev will give this a lot of loving attention given all the effort he's put in :-)

Ok, so no to pasting your own sound samples via pasteboard or audiocopy or audiobus output?
That sucks right...would like to arrange my own clips !!
Thanks @mgmg4871.
Above imps makes it tempting. But the Air and RAM...I get low ram crashes in Caustic just browsing small one shots samples. Actually I get crashes in any app that browses samples, or do things that constantly requires the app to check the RAM and mark unused crap as inactive (or else iOS will crash it) while filling it with new things, it's a bitch to do proper ram handling on iOS, but if the dev got the skillz.,.
Hoping 7.1 will improve all that just a bit,
There is audiocopy and paste, @ ChrisG.
any more reports on how this runs on ipad 3 or 4 would be much appreciated.
Yes, just to confirm you can audiopaste in your own and add to the fun - chopping, glitching, timestretching and beat syncing.
Just a question...I can't find Electrify (without NXT) in the list of AB Apps. I thought it was.
Yes, the original had AB support.
Aw poop.. I promised myself not to buy another app until next year, which is like...days away?
How about that other groovebox that gives you a stroke just by looking at it? I can't buy both, I'd feel so dirty...a dirty app slut....I think I need to go and take a shower

Before or after buy it?
iOS7 only... I was waiting for this one.
@ChrisG I haven't heard a wow about the Stroke thing, but Electrify is, what can I say, WOW.

While it's downloading
@mgmg4871 Yea I'll put the stroke one in the to-get next year list
I know this just came out but - app of the year anyone? I don't have it yet but it looks perfect. Seriously considering upgrading to ios7 just for this.
... Trying to hold out...
Lol. Good luck.
@ChrisG Stroke Machine is pretty cool too but needs a bit of TLC to iron out the bugs and fix AudioBus - dev says he's submitted already so I will keep you posted.
Stroke Machine can be a little buggy/glitchy but it's also nice. If I had to choose one now I'd go with Electrify for sure
Do you know...
FM synth tips: if you click on the number you can twick every operators.
Nxt is a beast!
Yeah, this is a really fun app, huge improvement over the original. I wish we could assign midi controllers to the mixer and stuff, that would be a crazy live set up.
During beta testing I have use it with my Quneo & Xstation and it's beautiful to record midi clips with midi controllers
Midi learn is not implemented right now….but in future
Awesome, that makes me really happy to hear This paired with my Killamix Mini and Qunexus would make a sick little set up.
Just wondering if this will support odd time rhythms and triplets in the future? For some reason, a lot of apps seems to be 4/4 with 16th note based rhythm max.
@Tarekith with Qunexus you can records midi note right now…with velocity
I meant for cc mapping, but that's good to know too!
Getting audio dropouts during transitions when some effects are added or making some changes, and audio breaking up when I add more than one effect to a part on my iPad 2. Not big issues for the way I want to use the app, but not suitable for live performance on an iPad 2, I think it's fair to say.
There is a message on the App Store saying that the app is geared towards Retina iPads… Hoping there are none of these problems w/ the newer iPads. Anyone have any of these issues?
None here, so far it works very smoothly.
@Tarekithm, hmm, ok, that's good news. Are you using an iPad 2?
Yup runs good here on ipad air. Made it crash a bunch of times though.
