So usb-c headphones? Or are they banking on the AirPods?
I like my headphone jack on iPad... but we knew this was coming.
Real-time audio work will just have to be done at the desk now; With a USB audio interface so I can use my real headphones.
Remains to be seen hot 'crippled' the USB-C support will be in practice once the devices ship.
Can we for example do IDAM from iPhone -> iPad?
What about storage options like Lightning USB-Flash Drives? (Ie. iOS now needs a proper mass-storage support).
I guess we'll have to wait until iOS13 or something before any radical changes will take place...
I guess the maxed out iPad Pro will go above $2000...
I’m sure there will be a dongle for headphones. Moving on?
That’s gonna hurt
If I buy this I'll need to make sure not to mix up my iphone lightning to headphone dongle with my ipad usb-c to aux dongle. Don't want to not be able to use my ipad because I grabbed the wrong dongle.
the video referred to the USB-C cable as: "connects to that, that, that, and that" with images of four things: camera, iPhone (charging), DJ controller (MIDI), and external monitor.
So... for now no mention of external drives. But the external monitor thing is new, and that will be useful.
So we saw the usb-c connected to some audio equipment. Perhaps we can hope for iphone to ipad audio transfer without an interface?
I was already able to charge my iPhone with my iPad. Usb dongle to lightning but they said that was new.
Iep,
Music section on the Keynote!!!!
EDIT: Lana del Rey. WTF
It would have been cool if they used the iPad as the piano to really showcase it
They didn't say anything about the headphone connector or RAM memory. I guess the first one is gone and the last one hasn't changed.
Wonder the 'one more thing' will be an iMac or will this keynote end with 'elevator music' LOL...
With all this power, seems ‘porting’ original programs to iOS will be in order.. FL studio, Ableton Live, Maschine etc. for iOS?
Wow, this were the introductions lots of people were waiting for! Very well equipped Mac Minis (4 Thunderbolt 3 ports!), new Macbook Air with Retina display, and that new screaming fast iPad Pro models.Must refrain myself not buying a copy of all three 😋
I feel like it has 8gb of ram now to help with all that processing power
Looks great. USB-C connectivity has huge potential, especially for music, I guess. I like the design overhaul and big screen. Love it! If it wasn‘t that expensive...
Maybe, cause the realtime VR feature in photoshop must need lots of RAM. You are right I guess.
Dear Tim...please say how much f..... RAM this will have. 1TB option? So i guess no SSD support via USB-C![>:) >:)](https://forum.loopypro.com/resources/emoji/naughty.png)
oh my goodness, I love that the mics were unmuted for Lana + Tim hugs .
"I'm nervous" "no I'm nervous"
best part of the keynote hands down.
If that would be so easy we already had it all right now. The GUI and porting to small multi-touch devices is the main trouble.....and the market of course.
I missed a lot....so Logic iOS? Pencil mac support? What else?
Makes me wonder when these '1:1' apps bacome available on App Store, how that going to affect current pricing.
Specs for iPad Pro
https://www.apple.com/ipad-pro/specs/
Well, seems Adobe is.. and AutoCad.. There are very bright developers amongst us here.. won’t mind paying a few more dollars for these ports..
And Fl Studio needs to trash that horrible FLM thing and bring the full enchilada to iOS..
Nop but Photoshop full engine new UI adapted yes. So maybe Logic iOS will be released when Apple jumps into ARM? Who knows...
This is relative. See also discussions about speed differences. The problem is cooling. Probably in practise it's 20% faster.
I see a new dongle coming.
Probably all next iOS devices have USB-C, so no need to invest in lightning dongles anymore
