What an awesome review!
That must be a great feeling for you @Rhism!
Yes. That's awesome.
@funjunkie27 Definitely - I was writing the previous response on here when I saw that, and it just made me stop dead in my tracks for a moment and take it in...
@Rhism you should quote that review in the app description. :-)
@Ryan Heck why not - done. Now you don't even need to buy the app to get a good story from it.
@Rhism Yes.,I like to turn them on / off while I play just for one touch.
And if we can control midi volume of guitar/bass/chord while playing it would be nice, too.
Damn I got a little teary reading that!
Everyone should find that review and mark it helpful!
@syrupcore Haha yeah or at least everyone in Canada!
Oh! Canada!
@tanjaree Wrt main-screen toggle buttons if you could only get this for one of the four (guitar, bass, chords, mute) which one would you want most? Also would you really want volume controls or just a fade in/out button?
The app doesn't work with bluetooth speakers, the sound continues to be played from my Ipad v2's built-in speakers. Is this by design?
@conundrum This is by design - bluetooth adds a lot of latency which kills the live playing experience. I believe Audiobus itself doesn't support bluetooth, for the same reason. If you've used any live-playing music apps that use bluetooth effectively that'd be useful to know!
You might find this interesting, although it only relates to midi...

Nice - and looks like app developers won't even need to do anything to support it.
@Rhism, we may have covered this already but I was wondering if there's any way to rotate the screen? It's not a big thing but when I flip my case its put the volume on the bottom. I'm sure there is a reason for this. Just on my wish list. Thanks, PS you're app rules!
@Bootsy yeah, you can flip the orientation. From the main title screen where it says "Play Guitar" click the cog wheel for extra options. There it will say "home button: Left" Change it to "Home Button: Right" :-)
@Ryan Wow, thanks so much! That is awesome news! I was afraid to ask! Didn't want to appear ungrateful for this great app! Cheers!
@Bootsy actually this is a pretty common question I get on email I'm going to try making that answer easier to find.
Thanks it works great now! Lovin it with alchemy and Igrand right now.
@Rhism I want mute Guitarishm most. And I really want volume controls too for balance sound.
@tanjaree Thanks, that's interesting that you want mute guitarism the most - I'm surprised by that Can you elaborate on what kind of setup you're thinking of - what apps / sounds would you be sending the guitar/bass/chords streams to, and how would you use a mute guitarism button during live performance?
You can definitely configure all the volumes / velocities in the 3P setup screen to set up a well-balanced mix. Do you just need to set up a balanced mix or are you trying to change volumes while playing?
Heres a demo of guitarism controlling iGrand with me singing. A cover of Pink Floyd's "nobody home", a song i always wanted to play but didn't have the key skills to pull off, made possible by the magic of 3p (technically only using 1p) lol
Hey Rhism, how are things coming with the creation of the new sounds for Guitarism? What can we look forward to first? ....or will it be a bundle of new sounds? I'm looking forward to a nice Fender Strat, a Gibson Les Paul, and maybe a nice hollow body. hint hint ;-)
@Audiojunkie Slower than I'd like! I'm planning to just release a single bundle. The goal is breadth over depth and quality over quantity. Plan is to have a 12-string acoustic, nylon classical acoustic and unprocessed electric (Fender Strat) plus a couple processed versions of the electric for the 99.3% who don't run guitarism inside AB. I'm working on the Strat right now.
Depending on how the bundle does, can then think about a deeper selection of electrics if people want that. Eventually I'd really like to enable user-generated sounds (and skins) on Rhism Nation. That's a ways off of course
For folks in San Fran: some of us music app devs will be jamming outside Moscone Center tomorrow at 5 pm, corner of 4th and Minna. @Sonosaurus and I will definitely be there, and we're gathering up more devs as we go. Drop by if you're in the city!
You going to film it?
Be good to have the different pickups from the Strat?
Hmmm. different pickups - with knobs on? dream ....
I'll never forget the lights coming up on the freshly completed Wall, picking out David sitting in a cut-out hotel room upper left, singing this song, LA, 1979.
I am of that same post-war Brit generation, same part of London, relations lost to Blitz bombs and all. It is possible that is why I identify so strongly with PF music and lyrics. Thanks for your song; I am inspired to pick some others to cover now.
Too bad I'm stuck in Seattle and can't join you at Moscone. Enjoy, shoot movies!
