It is overhyped. I understand, it is a great developer, and a great original product, i even look for this product to be great as well...but i think the long long long wait for this to drop kinda built into a emotional peak for some!

It will get my money. I believe in the product. The synth is very interesting to me. The drum
Thing will be lackluster to me just like the trg was. Hopefully the effects will be trippy like the last version.

Essentially if matt an matt teamed up (intua/blip) it would be insane!

As nano focuses on sequencing and synthesis more and bm3 focuses on sampling more...2 different leanings! If you make edm i can see nano being much better for you, if you make hiphop you will probably gravitate towarda bm3 more

Trippy effects? Hello! I nominate you to produce a demo video of said trippy effects when this launches. Thanks MrSmileZ! :)

You didnt have nanostudio 1?! The effects were reminiscent of 80 rack effects in sound! Kinda digitechy and yummy

I did but never got into it. If I were to be forced to time travel to the past I am sure I would do a lot more NS1, Bm1-2ing. It just took a while for my years of dekstop daw stockholm syndrome to melt. All happy on BM3 now with the sampler and plethora of trippy AU. :)

    Yes i like bm3 alot...
I havent been on it as much since I have been learning the MPC, but its on par with the mpc quite a bit...better in a few ways! I like hooking the ipad up to the mpclive thru the ica4Plus

Your best bet is to go to the NS forum.

    Just to be clear...
NS forum: Nano Studio and not the National Socialist 😝

NS2... Argh! Just a few days longer, looks like a nice December

I’m glad you said that, I was feeling like the only person who had NS1 who didn’t click with it. So I’ll be watching NS2 with interest, but I have yet to be convinced that it delivers something that I can’t get from the multitude of other apps that I already have.

With the wealth of apps out there, iOS musicians have multiple ways to do almost anything they want. It’s mostly about finding a workflow you like. NS1 had a workflow that a lot of people really connected with, and NS2 looks to be similar. So I can totally understand why some people are hyped and others aren’t.

I never really believed I'd say this, but the NanoStudio 2 has finally reached code complete with all known issues and bugs fixed.

I need to spend the next couple of days finishing off the user manual and a final gentle pass on the content, and then plan to submit to the App Store on Monday (the 26th of November).

Once submitted, it's then a race to have the new website and forum ready for the 7th of December, which is when I hope to launch. If things go terribly wrong (eg. an app store rejection which requires significant work) then this might get pushed back but I think things would really have to go really wrong for it to be any later than the 15th of December.

I'm going to take this opportunity to once again remind everyone that there's GOING TO BE A FULL FORUM RESET and you'll be required to sign up again once the new forum's in place. Sorry for the inconvenience but I've decided to jettison the current forum to make things much easier at my end (I know, it's all me, me, me). The NS1 songs thread will be converted and given a special home on the new website.

    B) >:)

  • Searched but couldn't find it. Will NS2 sync to Midi Clock and transport start/stop? Or will it just have Link?

I wish there was a hardware box that took Ableton Link data and sent something like Midi Clock Out + transport to Din Midi and Usb Midi ports, not just 5v pulses like the upcoming Circuit Happy 'The Missing Link' box.

It only has Link on initial release

Maybe someone had made a Rosebery Pi link box? Worth looking into

  • Thanks @mireko_2 Link is great!
The upcoming black box from Cirucit Happy is Rasperry Pi-based, but so far only analog 5V pulse Out for syncing analog modular gear to Link WiFi sessions. Hopefully they add Din Midi and USB Midi later since lots of people are asking for it.

I hope the ‘something’ that fell in your basket wasn’t due to having no underwear available 💩

  • Not long now.....

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • so what is all is new in this update?

It's a totally new app. Check out their forums for screenshots. It's a beast. It has convolution reverb. That says it all.

  • Long thread but deso it also include support for AUv3’s?
What about being able to render a ’midi part’ to audio for quick re-sampling?

I can live without audio-tracks as long as sampling & re-sampling is supported :)

I didn't initially click with NS1 when I first got it on my iPad. it wasn't until 2-3 years later when I got an iphone6s and installed it on that - I started noodling around on lunch breaks etc and then i started to get tracks done. So don't give up

That is certainly a big chunk of mystery meat for me as well. Ultimately I just don't see it dethroning BM3 for me but it may just offer some cool new things to try out. I think it has time sig / tempo changes on the fly (?) which could be a nice new thing to play around with. Maybe the sampler or synth has a couple tricks etc. I mean I still use Elastic Drums to pipe sample fodder into BM3 so really this is just another groovebox that may have some fun factor to me. I am done dreaming about the 'all in one' on iOS, never gonna happen for me.

    AU - yes
NS1 had resample so yes to that.
This is the music app I’ve been waiting for. I’m sure others will see it the same way. I’m just as sure others won’t. :D

  • I’m really interested in how the pads on the new TRG are laid out. BM3 has, IMO, the best finger drumming layout available. With the positioning of the velocity trigger strip on the left side, I can create simulated velocity taps by tapping it right after hitting a snare, for instance... a quick ghost note. And the pads are a 1 to 1 sizing of maschine pads. Basically BM3 has become a portable maschine for my finger drumming, but NS2 will become my sequencer of choice based on my usage of NS1 and what Matt has shown in the thread on the blip forum.

You should post your soundcloud link, pretty cool stuff.
