@[Deleted User] Look at the screenshots of the arrange view, mixing view, and track group effects, the pictures might speak more than words: http://forums.blipinteractive.co.uk/node/11615
Looks to me like there is a master bus as well as track grouping. I’d be surprised if audio effects couldn’t be used on the master bus, and the screenshots show audio effects used on track groups. So it looks to me like all the tools are there to finish mixes within NS2 as is.
(If you’re thinking of “audio tracks” in terms of audio routing and processing - like channels and buses on a mixer, and like channels in AUM - NS2 will have that.)
The joke will be on you when Climate Change, stife in the Middle East, and male pattern baldness cease to plague mankind after release.
I was super looking forward to NS2 and probably would have plunked down for it day one but now the last couple nick of time BM3 updates have made it fantastically stable and more flexible for me for automating AUs. I will be sure to check out videos and the manual to see if NS2 has some breakout non-Obsidian features that lure me in but now I dont see a ton of instabuy factor.
There will be men guarding the door. Your name will be on the list.
Does anyone know if this will be coming to desktop as well? I haven't heard mention of it.
The anticipation for NS2 is palpable
Perhaps lmao
3 years ago this feature set would have been more enticing. Obsidian is all that keeps me interested in reality...i would have wished Matt would have just developed that as an AU and i would have still paid 29.99
Interesting to hear. I'm at least 3 years behind the times so I'll be satisfied until 2021 or so ...
Same. And I spent all that time learning BM3...
NanoStudio has always been about its usability and well-chosen feature set.
If the BM3 workflow was more like the one in NanoStudio, I don't think that the hype would be this big now.
I think NS2 will have the edge over BM3 regarding workflow (for me at least) based on my experience with NS1. That’s the main thing I’ve been looking for in all of these apps.
One thing I will most closely be looking for in videos and the manual is whether or not the sampler / drum pads will let you select ranges non destructively or if you are forced to do destructive cropping. Then things like can loop start/end be automated, how is it recording AUs into the sampler, it's not just bounce and load is it? etc... I will likely spend some time doing a little nerd out with a pro/con spreadsheet. It certainly should be worth the pondering at least.
Yes, will observe with interest.
Exactly why I'm so excited. All of the other features (sampler, synth, samples) are down on the list in favor of workflow, for me. I've now tried most of the ios "daws" and found them lacking for me. I'm pinning my hopes on NS2 for that reason.
Was there any word on Midi clock sync? Can it slave?
I thought I had read this but had to dig to find it. Gosh, I should be working ...
This is from the dev Matt on 11/16/18 ...
"NS2 supports MIDI in for any track and has an 'External MIDI' instrument you can put on a track which basically just outputs that track's MIDI events to the MIDI device/channel of your choosing. The MIDI device can be a hardware one (ie. via a hardware interface) or a software one (eg. another app running the background which offers a virtual MIDI input).
Sadly, I've had to move MIDI clock sync/start/stop to my V2.x wishlist. I've written most of it but getting the sync to work nicely is a bit of a black art and I decided it needed some more love before it was ready for prime-time. So for initial release the only sequencer slave/sync option will be Ableton Link, but obviously that's a software solution which only works between iOS devices and PC's on the same Wi-Fi network."
really don't get the hype. No audio tracks even. You have now apps with the same features plus plus.
Ahh shame. BM3 actually has midi clock transport (starts/stops etc)(and yes I know, not persistent midi clock sync but whatever, works for me with a daw looping a few bars at a time etc, don't nerd out people, hey off my ass already wtf) and it works great acting as a groovebox to my desktop daw.
The hype was previously earned.
As @JohnnyGoodyear says, the hype was earned by NS1. NS2 is NS1 on steroids and ape hormones.
👍🏻
It is overhyped. I understand, it is a great developer, and a great original product, i even look for this product to be great as well...but i think the long long long wait for this to drop kinda built into a emotional peak for some!
It will get my money. I believe in the product. The synth is very interesting to me. The drum
Thing will be lackluster to me just like the trg was. Hopefully the effects will be trippy like the last version.
Essentially if matt an matt teamed up (intua/blip) it would be insane!
As nano focuses on sequencing and synthesis more and bm3 focuses on sampling more...2 different leanings! If you make edm i can see nano being much better for you, if you make hiphop you will probably gravitate towarda bm3 more
not sure if this is still true with NS2... did you saw this ?

I don’t understand the idea that you can only do certain kinds of music on certain platforms. Seems rather narrow-minded.
Trippy effects? Hello! I nominate you to produce a demo video of said trippy effects when this launches. Thanks MrSmileZ!
So is this like a Gadget type app or a Cubasis/Auria type?
Smack dab in the middle?
No timestretch is going to make this painful.
I think it's going to be (for many of us) no more excuses really these things now on the table are the things you need to shut up and write some songs with for the next year or so.
