This.period! But with a better sequencer, I never loved the FM sequencer too much, here I see the notes I put into my sequence.
Hello people, i hope you're all doing well and safe.
Thank you for your nice feedback response on the update, we hope you like it! ❤️
Hi RajahP, please walk by our YouTube channel as we have a few new videos, one for each of the new features > https://www.youtube.com/c/audiomodern
Or otherwise, more info on Riffer page: https://audiomodern.com/shop/plugins/riffer/
Have a great day & Stay safe!
On in a hours time GMT.
@Audiomodern Really like the new update, the density function is really, really nice!
Now that there's 4 tracks a 'true poly' mode could be nice as well. ie. randomize in-key chords as well as single notes and set the 'chord density' per pattern?
Adjust 'micro timing' between the 4 lates to create strums and other crazy things like that.
But honestly I prefer surprises more and the density thing was one of them so rather than the above surprise me hehe
Cheers!
Riffer is so ace now, not that is wasn't b4! It comes up with more musical ideas on random which is nice. Then you get as weird as possible. I haven't tried poly mode yet... Is it like duo-phoney or what do you mean 'real poly'. Thanks and remember to riff in goofy scales that I am not sure are real ha jk.
Wowza, this is a very nice surprise! @Audiomodern you knocked it out of the park with this update.
Please remember to update your reviews in the App Store to thank the developers!
Yes this is a really nice update, much better to compose with now I think
I’ve been getting some good results by using the chord options in the scales menu and messing around with different octaves on each lane. Using regular scales got a bit messy but the chord options really helped tame things up.
Christmas came early. Solid update to an already awesome app.
This is an amazing upgrade which makes a great app even better - thank you!
@Audiomodern Killer update! Thank you very much.. 🙏
Riffer has THE most musical randomizer around.. every riff is a keeper.. and works with so many different instruments.. it’s musical magic..
Definitely need to find time to check the videos out.
timing issues fixed?? Really!?? I'm not gonna believe it until I test it out running for a few minutes to see if it drifts.. I really hope it's fixed though.
Thanks...
Seems pretty stable on my iPad Pro..
this update is pretty fun.but how do you erase all the notes on a track?
Another trick is double press on the R1, R2, R3 or R4 to mute them
cool thanks. was hard to see on my iphone. lol
Riffer has always been my go-to for setting up repeating patterns when looking for “that sound”. After just a brief time with v3 I’m really excited! It was an app that I always wished would get more attention, and it was worth it.
Edit:
The first step of a sequence doesn’t seem to be playing when you start the AUM transport, although it may be more complicated than that. The “bug” seemed to occur only when I was also sending the MIDI out to Xequence. When I removed Xeq from the mix there was no problem.
Looks like a cracking update.
I remember reading about a few timing issues with this and Playbeat. Have both these apps had those issues resolved at this point?
Thinking about finally plunging for the bundle.
Can I make long, multiple bar long notes with this app? Like if I wanted to have a G note play for 2 bars, followed by an A for a couple of bars?
Sure, just turn on the "tie" option and draw 'em in.
Yeah, it can hold out notes by tying consecutive notes together, or by sustaining until the next note.
You get Max 64 steps in the sequencer, but the steps timing can be made longer or shorter, from 1 bar to 1/64th note. The timing is for all steps, not step-by-step.
Just got Riffer today.
Bit disappointed that MIDI file export isn’t splitting the 4 tracks.
Anything I may have missed?
I set all the separate MIDI channels on settings prior to export and saved the file.
Most midi export works this way. The data is there by channel but it's one file. Xequence and others work same way.
Well there’s actually two different formats of MIDI file, one of which will indeed split their channels / tracks when imported to Xequence.
Which is what I was hoping for with Riffer.
You’re right though that this method is very common too though.
Not a big deal really. I’ll just have to use the app in a different context to what I was intending. Cheers.
Oh... So midi in (performance mode) is basically an Arp?
Tempo still drifts for me with Riffer3.0. Not too noticeable for the first couple mins. By after about 4+ mins of continuous play, Riffer has drifted out of time by a noticeable amount. I ran a 4x4 kick pattern on riffer & brams Rozetta xox sending to ruismaker kicks in AUM running at 44khz. Nothing else running. Playbeat suffers exact same issues for me 😕
So I just tried loading Riffer & playbeat as IAAs and checked - after 5mins playing they both seemed to be in sync well still.. in previous test above I had loaded as AUv3
Hey @Halftone Thanks for this.
