The latest updates fixed my issues even better than I was expecting. The previously silent midi notes now sound without me having to re-record anything! thank you!

Really great to hear! This is thanks to @aure.

He has completely re-engineered the way AudioKit apps handle MIDI. AudioKit just keeps getting better and better. Much thanks to the feedback and suggestions from the folks here in this forum.

The next update (which should be live tomorrow) will improve the way mono MIDI is handled.
Plus, features the option of a cleaner oscillator algorithm. And, improves the existing ones. It's really nice.

Thank you very much for the update, perfect 👌 @analog_matt @aure and whoever else is on your team are awesome! 👏

    Some great sounding combinations there!

This thing sounds good, the effects are pleasing to the ear too.

  • The world as we know it will end when this goes AUv3. Dangerous times ahead.

Right on! I've been working around this by sampling some of the patches into AudioLayer for my AU based live setup. This synth will be one of my workhorses when it goes AUv3.

Performance feels more stable than the other audio kit apps with no crashes yet. Any chance Fm player and Synth one receive updates as well to optimize for us older iPad users ?

    Absolutely!

We plan on updating Synth One & FM Player with Buffer Settings and some of the other improvements. Those upgrades should be available in the app store with-in the next couple of weeks.

Wasn't there an FM app that AudioKit was/is developing?? Refresh me. Something about registering it to get the new update or something? So many synths .... :#

We're working on FM Player 2. However, with all the new tech/fixes we've been developing for D1, we're holding on that until we get D1 solid. Then, we can port some of the awesome new features and stability from D1 to FM Player. And, you are correct, FM Player 2 will be a free upgrade for all current FM Player users. 🎉

  • In case anyone isn’t on the Facebook and didn’t see my post there and wants to see how fast this update really made the MIDI triggering I put this on YouTube as a quick test on the new update.

We've greatly improved the MIDI input in the latest update (0.9.6)

  • @analog_matt the new update just dropped with the PCM selection nice! :)

I do wonder if anyone has requested 'vertical velocity' for the on-screen keyboard?
This could add another level of expression when not using a controller while creating or playing the sounds.

The 'direction' could also be flippable.
(ie. Y-Axis=1-127 or Y-Axis=127-1, AUM has a nice 'range setting' for the keyboard similar to this).

Cheers, time to update that star-rating for this update...

Just a little side note if anyone updated to the latest version and cannot find the "PCM Cards" button: I had to delete D1 and reinstall, otherwise that great, fantastic, highly welcome, the user experience largely enhancing button migt not be shown.

Thanks at all @AnalogKit team and thanks very much for picking up the panel idea!
It really makes a difference, and I love the idea of splitting pcms into different cards.

Can I buy a RAM card?

Thanks. That's a great idea. I will add that to my every growing "to do" list. 👍

Goodie, it's something that could come in handy in FMPlayer and Synth One too ;)

  • I would love to see D1 with an included FM synth engine as a wave generator.

  • Great update, I am impressed with the release of new versions every few days. The presentation of the PCM selection is brilliant, keeping the “flick for random” while also having easy specific selection. I hope the way it is presented means that extra “cards” can be added in the future (or a user writable RAM card as above).

  • Totally resolved my sustain peddle issue!

    Indeed. That's right!

We are planning a Free Expansion Card (EXP-01) next month as a Christmas gift. It will be loaded with new sounds that you can mix and match with the current sounds. This will be a thank you gift to all you fine people who supported AudioKit by getting D1 early!

Additionally, Brice is planning on recording new PCM cards from his private collection of hardware synths. Those will be affordably priced IAPs which will hopefully cover his recording costs/time and be enough to buy gear that will be used for making future D1 expansions.

  • The gift that keeps giving! Merry Christmas to us...

This is the way to go!!! Great sounds for a great synth that keeps giving and growing. More iaps please

  • Excellent plan.

  • Woo hoo on the expansion cards.

My iThing awaits the, clearly imminent, arrival of the stickers.

Was just looking at my stickers earlier. Very handsome. I've been stopped, by women, in coffee shops and asked about them. It's all in front of you....
