The Saturator is broken on iPhone 8 (iOS12.1.4) as well while it works fine on the iPad Air 2 (iOS12.1.4).
I guess we'll see an update to Gadget 2 once it's time to release the two remaining Gadgets...
When that happens I hope we'll get an option to disable the gradient background and have uniform colour on the note-events. (And well, I still want to see a way to set the default velocity of the events tapped on the the grid or recorded using on-screen keyboard).
Overall I'm surprised how much I'm liking Gadget again. Yes the gradient is over the top and needs adjusting, but I much prefer the darker blue, I really didn't like the bright blue. There will always be improvements wanted, and progress is slow with updates but I'm sure that's a financial time constraint effect.
All completely true.
Ive found that it’s easy to end up with clicks between the audio between scenes using this method, however.
Anyone else found the same?
For now it’s only iMS20 and iPolysix apparently.
Nice work around @branis Thanks
Thanks for that- I shall give it a go when I get home 😀
Yes, in my revisiting of Gadget I tested out importing audio and found it sometimes clicks between scenes. The audio tracks are so badly designed they are unusable for importing long audio files. Will only be any use if they add a linear sequencing mode like Ableton.
Does this work for Darwin too? In other words, if I installed Gadget on my wife's iPad, just long enough to get these programs onto my phone, I could get them all? I've already paid for them (back when I used an iPad).
Also, if I have to ever reinstall Gadget, do I have to go through the whole process again, or does it remember that I owned them and simply restore my purchase?
I always get clicks with Zurich from scene to scene, especially noticeable when I lower the volume to to a fade-in. The volume of the clicking noise doesn‘t get reduced.
I had to redo the thing again as I'd deleted Gadget from my phone before, but yes works with Darwin too so if you are logged in to same account and on the same wifi network should work ok.
This was the main thing I was hoping would be improved. 😪
That should work as long as you are logged on with the same Apple ID on both devices. Having installed an app or two on my wife’s iPad has lead to some confusion in the past, with pop ups coming asking her to sign in, then not accepting the password because it’s my Id they want rather than hers.
But if you uninstall afterwards, and be sure that the iPad gets signed back into her account, you may not run into those issues.
On top of AU apps disappearing inside DAWs I keep getting Gadget modules totally not showing is there a problem with Gadget 2 selections filters as you can see All is selected however on Taipei is showing ?
Only taipei will show up on a midi track. Same if you have a zurich you can’t switch to a dublin etc
Yeh, what shows up is dependent on the type of gadget you’re replacing. You can’t replace an audio gadget with a synth gadget, synth with a Taipei, etc.
The solution is to create a new track, then copy/paste the pattern into it.
Taipei + ChordPolyPad = Glorious
You don’t even need to route it through anything like AUM or AudioBus, gives you xy pad cc control and everything.
Just set up pads in CPP, route Taipei to CPP, then CPP to a synth in Gadget, making sure you got all the connections right, and you’re good to go.
Advantage? Access to the transport in Gadget, which you lose when controlling straight from CPP.
Cheers wasn’t aware of that when changing gadgets.
To be clear, that’s xy pad cc control from Taipei, not CPP. Just hit the function button on the synth you want to control and choose two cc controls, and map those to the Taipei xy pad. The routing goes through without having to set up anything extra in CPP (just the normal midi in/out).
CPP also let’s you set up xy pad control, but like I say, you have the transport right there when using Taipei so no having to start record then switch apps to CPP.
Trust me, try it. It’s such a nice combo.
Does that mean you can play single notes in Taipei to trigger chords in CPP?
Yup. You can control the pads in CPP by midi, so whatever you have the pads set to in CPP will be played by Taipei. The pads mapping starts with C for the upper left pad, and you can set the octave in CPP to C2, C3, or C4 (I think those are the options).
You can also send cc messages to CPP to control the page, so that you have access to all the pages (I think there are 8, or maybe it's 16 I forget, pages of pads in CPP).
I’m having a bit of a Gadget love-fest today, really enjoying the updates. Battery life seems to have improved with the new version after a reboot, and the iPad’s not getting as hot as before.
Well I never. Welcome back old friend.
Love someone to make a vid of this.... :)
+1, if it’s not too much hassle.
MIDI can be like trying to untangle Christmas lights. I'm not a YouTuber, but maybe someone can follow the relatively simple instructions:
i really disliked the flat blue as well, it buggered my eyes. the gradient is a bit much but its an improvement for my eyes. i was hoping for an option to change the color scheme like Patterning 2 or something but I am overall pleased with this.
The main problem for me is that depending on the accessibility color scheme, the piano roll grid ranges between hardly visible and completely invisible.
Same for the white font on light grey background. This has to be fixed by KORG asap.
Really cool with Step Poly Arp too!
To me this is the best update ever!!
Bravo. I am a melon in a man's body but will try this on the morrow :)
