Very fair.
I’ve just had a good hour’s twiddling in Gadget, and used about 16% battery, no real heat to report either.
Would have used at least 50% previously, and I’d have had to stop every ten minutes to let it cool down.
Happy with that!
You can mute the source track using the "mute" button on the mixer and audio will still be passed to Memphis.
I didn't work on that feature, but I believe it was a design decision. I'm not sure though, I can ask about it
My biggest issue with link is you can’t start playback from any bar (when you double tap on the bar in the piano roll editor). It always starts playback from the beginning. Plus it needs updating to the latest sdk to support link start/stop.
@davis_korgrd
Mate, are you going to address the fact the saturator isn't working on some devices? Are you going to work on fixing this/get the people who worked on it to fix this? For me, it doesn't work on my iPad Pro 11". Others have this same issue on their devices. To some, it's just an effect to make subbasses detectable on cheap speakers/to fatten trance leads. To me, it's a very crucial sound design tool for Noise Music/Electro-Acoustic/Experimental/you name it (and yes, also for making subbasses detectable on cheap speakers and fattening trance leads ).
@davis_korgrd
Would love to be able to loop the song.
Just really unimpressed with gadget workflow. Its so awkward and annoying. Been using it for a year and still hate it.
I like some of the sounds in Dublin but it feels like a cash grab to me. Maybe it's just not my cup of tea
NanoStudio forever. Dunno why more developers haven't copied it
We'll release an update for it soon. I made a typo and didn't catch it until it was too late because the issue is tied in with the device samplerate.
Couldn't agree more mate. 😎 Especially once the audio tracks IAP is released.
AH! I damn near forgot about that ruddy samplerate issue with the new devices, lol. Thanks for letting me know mate. Looking forward to the update.
Also, can we expect the two "unannounced" IAPs (cough Ebina cough Otorii cough) with the next update, or will it just be a bugfix update for now?
The next update will be for bug fixes as far as I know
Thank you for keeping us updated @davis_korgrd
Fair enough. Thanks for keeping us up to date.
Genuinely worried that the new blue needs to be an optional setting. Don’t be like Apple and TAKE THINGS THAT WE LIKE AWAY FROM US. Please consider adding a switch button in settings that allow us to have our preferred theme option.
Thanks in advance.
Please do. I was trying to set up a project in AUM with Gadget, Troublemaker and Effectrix. I couldn’t use Link because I needed different tempos for different scenes, but since the delay in Troublemaker and Effectrix are tempo based effects I couldn’t have them play in sync with Gadget.
Please do your best to make the grid lines visible again. I might not have the best eyes but I bet that people with a specific kind of colour blindness won't be able to see the grid lines at all.
With certain iOS accessibility colour settings, the grid lines in the notes/automation grid disappear completely!
For some strange reason Gadget 2 makes me want to get a bigger iPad like >15" or so...
I was thinking the same shame the Windows version isn't full spec would look great on my Surface Pro.
iMS-20 also, can barely read the labels on the standard sized iPad
I’m in the same boat @davis_korgrd !
I’m a little bit colorblind so good contrast is most important for me. In the moment I have to adjust the brightness to 100% to work with the new grid but even with 100% brightness I didn’t feel comfortable.
The difference between the old and the new grid is huge! 😎
😊 👍
😩
I may not have colourblindness and am more attuned to colours due to creating art on the side, but count me in amongst those who can barely see the ruddy grid. It's pants! Who at Korg thought that grid colour would work well against that background? 🤔
Initial gripes aside, like: Vancouver's smooth looping still not being smooth, and iPhone users without iPads getting the shaft on the new gadgets... I am fully back into using Gadget after not using it for a long time, because this update is great. The fades and tempo changes, Taipei's wonderful pairing with ChordPolyPad and StepPolyArp Unit, the new effects, the much snappier interface... All great.
Nice job Korg.
pats Korg on back
+1
Bing, bing, bing......
Korg lies back like Miss June and smiles seductively; I'm right here for you baby...
I'm loving the update. I still end up with a batch of scenes that don't work together as a song...but that's lack of musical ability on my part.
This thread needs an OT music video so here goes...
Keep grinding skipper.
It's a strange issue. I end up with lots of very good sounding scenes in themselves, but after jamming about on them they bear little connection with the previous ones. So I end up with a half-finished song that has several mini songs inside it.
Weird. Discipline required.
Korg should release a proper 'Sampler Gadget' as a tribute to the Prodigy in memory of Keith Flint...
(Today I'll be listening to the Prodigy all day long, maybe even the rest of the week).
