  • Damn not working for me either

  • You buy the $100 Rolex on Canal Street and then you’re surprised when it stops working!
    ;)

(Joking aside, bummer for all involved.)

  • how did you contact the seller for a refund? i do t see it on the app store page > @eyesunderground said:

Dead here too and I was set to spend hours tonight sampling...

Holding on refund for now hoping it gets resolved.

You don’t contact the developer, you contact Apple. Find the receipt in your email, then follow the Report a Problem link.

This app just resurrected BM3 for me. It works beautifully. I don't really need much else at this point.

I'm almost scared to ask someone to make a video showing how they do this in BM3 but I'd like to see one :)

  • Dev team says it’s a bug in our code. We submitted a fix a few minutes ago. Hopefully it’s back to work within 24 hours

I heard that Jakob Haqq did a livestream about how to record from YouTube and then YouTube deleted the video and blocked his account from live-streaming for three months.

What a curious country you coding characters inhabit ...making something and then letting the market work out what on earth it could be good for ... it's probably how the wheel started.

Indeed. All of the apps we have built until now have originated from my personal idea of what the market should want. But this is the first app where the idea and design came from another member of our team, who is a coder, as you correctly surmised. So far we are very pleased with the result. (Technically I was also trained as a coder but I spend most of my time solving equations or drawing graphics, not coding.)

Sorry for the OT interjection: perhaps you would consider tackling an IR convolution AUv3 (for reverb and cabinet emulation, etc). There currently isn't such a thing. There are a few apps (like Altispace and Fiddlicator) that do it but no AUs.

It seems right up your alley.

That IS right up our alley. It didn't occur to me because I thought it was so obvious that it must have been done three times already. I'll put it on the list. Thanks for the suggestion.

... But I'm lazy to go looking for impulse responses. Do you have any suggestions about where to get good ones that we could include in the app? Convolution reverb is pretty easy to implement because the method is well documented. The hard part is getting a good collection of IR's. That's where AltiVerb really shines.

Yes, AltiVerb is a gem. I love their Taj Mahal. Let me start another thread about IRs so as not to hijack this one. I know that there are some sites out there with a pretty good selection both for reverb use and guitar cabinet use.

Please mention my user name in that thread so I can follow along. Thanks.

That’s how I used it last night with an AUM tutorial.

If that’s true, it’s no wonder.

He might as well have screwed their mother.

Is it a one-off coincidence @Blue_Mangoo or was the ‘bug’ activated intentionally by YT?

I think in this case, with such (valid?) concern over the app continuing to work long-term and no browser for other stream sources in the event that it doesn’t work, it would really help people’s decision if they had some more information to hand so they can weigh up what to do.

    Thanks :)

YouTube made a small change in their code, just a bug fix that would have been irrelevant if it were not for the fact that we also had an error in our code. It's not a situation where every time they change something tiny like that, we will have to update. It's just that this is the first time we are doing something like this and we still don't have a perfectly clear understanding of how YouTube works. The lead dev for this app said it is likely to happen again a few more times when YouTube updates something, but as we gain a better understanding of the situation it will get more stable.

@Blue_Mangoo ok cool, thanks for reply :)

I only asked because YouTube still works in all other iOS browsers as far as I can tell? And functionality broke for everyone in Tube au at the same moment, without anyone updating any apps... seems weird compared to most ‘bugs’ etc?

If YT are actively trying to block the app’s functionality then it’s probably only matter of time before it gets permanently blocked/pulled from store etc, but if you’re saying that this wasn’t aimed intentionally at Tube Au by YT then all good :)

It was definitely an error on our side; not theirs. This was difficult to design, and we are still learning.
