I've already done a deep dive on Google to find an app that works similarly (not as well and obviously not in an AU environment, but it mostly gets the job done)... I'm hesitant to even mention the name lol. I'm sure TubeAU trending on the app store doesn't help it's chances. I do think that a name/presentation change might be a smart move on the dev's part, at the very least to ease consumer anxiety/skepticism about a $10 app.
Or maybe we're just being paranoid? Surely Google would just send a cease and desist instead of cat and mouse coding?
Agree with previous posts... considering changing name and scope (broader) might help keep things under the radar @Blue_Mangoo
+1
Have you guys seen how to use Koala to sample from YouTube by using a simple Behringer interface? Pretty cool idea.
Going to try this setup to see what happens.
Welp, good to have this info in case this app gets yanked for violating YouTube policies or anything ya know 🥴
Ooh, that ‘request desktop site’ trick is handy - not for sampling in my case - but to avoid using their hideous mobile website.
Good one! It's a clever idea and the tip about using the desktop site is quite handy.
aghhh very cool thanks for the tip
@echoopera Nice tip, thank you! I own a Behringer(the red one), never thought of putting the outs in the ins.
It's a cool idea, would work great in a pinch but I gotta be honest I do most of my beatmaking laying in bed when my wife's snoring or lounging on the couch because I'm a lazy fucker. It's one of the main perks of using the iPad! I can't be bothered with dongles in those situations.
Well it’s an option if the app disappears...and thought I’d share it as another option for users to have in their arsenal.
😂
I just bought it. Not strange that it didn't work at all for me 😁😀
@[Deleted User] this has me laughing geeza
i once made a beat years back of my ex arguing with me “ your always on that effin sampler crap” ..the beat was bit like “ put your hands up for detroit”..
“They think it’s all over...is it?
Youtube & copyright rubbish. How much do they profit from zillions of uploads of copyright music etc. Contradicting twats
that was a waste on ten bucks
@LeonLeroy @marcuspresident : perhaps you missed the note from the developer that they have identified the problem and an update is awaiting approval.
Huh uh.
@Eye0sStudios thats youtube
That's what it says for nearly every update.
Left an AppStore review. Thanks @Blue_Mangoo
This app will not add web functionality.
Tube AU has been awaiting review for about 20 hours. We resubmitted it late yesterday afternoon, gmt+7 time zone, after we fixed some additional bugs.
According to apple’s developer website, 50% of apps are reviewed within 24 hours and 90% within 48 hours.
This link explains the process: https://developer.apple.com/app-store/review/
Just use the loop back feature with Koala Sampler in the mean time
I know it's not as simple as being cord free, but it works all the time

I don’t think it works like that. Once you choose a refund I think you are banned from the app for life. So you should only refund apps that you think are utterly worthless to you (that’s how Apple sees it)
[EDIT: thanks to replies from others below, turns out I’m completely wrong and refunding/ repurchasing is totally possible, but at a high cost to the developer because Apple keeps 30% of the refund. Ouch!]
