Just tried two instances of this in AUM - one through Roxsyn, the other through Discord.

That’s a track right there. Very happy with this one.

    NO PICTURES NO GIRLFRIEND

  • I'd like to see a thread with all your compositions :)

  • @FrankChilds the fix for the kit crashing on save is online :) Thanks for the tip jar suggestion :D Whoever wants to support me can check my other apps, or even my merch on the website

@RUST( i )K you cannot export kit sounds at the moment, but I think I'll work on this soon.
@bounce I'll take a look at Ableton export

    haha.
    She's in Canada!

  • @ElliottGarage Got it. User kits built from init are now saving properly :)

I've enjoyed using EGSY01 & EGDR606 for some time so I just bought your WaveShaper too.

Really stellar work all around. Grazie!

So can Pulse easily drive EGDR606?

I couldn't get it to in AUM using the MIDI ctrl functions but that may be a personal misunderstanding. I've always used EGDR606 as a self contained drum as it seems to only play from it's own grid. I couldn't get Rozeta XOX to trigger it either but @ElliottGarage may have a tip in that regard.

  • @ExAsperis99 I forgot to set the midi mapping in XOX. Now I've got XOX driving EGDR606. Pulse is running and I'm seeing activity but still no sound out of 606 from Pulse.

@ExAsperis99 Yes. Pulse does drive EGDR606. I had to adjust the note range in AUM that I had moved previously. Now the pattern sequencer in Pulse is triggering EGDR606 & mutes and solos from the Pulse mixer work also. Sorry for all the confusion but in my defense I'm not very bright.

*Host Sync in Pulse while in AUM needs to be activated.

  • Is there a quick tutorial on how to use drag and drop from the files app? I’m on iOS 12

    1. Open the files app in slide-over mode.
    2. Drag it to the left side of the screen.
    3. Drag samples onto pads.

It’s easy enough to find with Google how to open files app in slide over mode if you don’t know how to do that.

You can also use it in split-screen view. To get from slide over to split screen, drag downward from the top of the slide over window.

Load Files app in slide over mode and drag an audio file onto a pad. If you aren’t sure how to launch an app in slide over mode: https://support.apple.com/en-us/HT207582

  • Would it be possible to improve swing. Currently can only choose between 4 options on 16th beats. I'd very much like to be able to just use a slider for swing, and also to swing 1/8th beats in addition to 1/16th beats.

    Thanks.

  • Is it safe to assume that if I wanted to do microtiming, I could control EGPulse with Xequence or Atom? 1/64 quantization is nice, but sometimes you just need more.

  • Really need more triplet settings please.....that would make this more usable for me

I appreciate the recent addition of 1/12 quantization but this is not real triplets because you can't evenly divide 64 steps by 3 (or 12). Would it be possible to extend the total number of steps to 96 or even higher? (96 is evenly divisible by 2, 3, 4, 6, 8, 12 and 16). Rhythm is math after all.

It would be nice to be able to program more than 1 bar at a time. Many great funk drum rhythms are 4 or 8 bar patterns and very awkward to program one bar at a time and then string together later. 16 bars would be ideal. Midi import would be great too, I have a lot of great midi drum patterns I'd rather import than program. Having multiple bars would help with midi import too.

I wish the grid would display more differentiation and visibly change when you switch quantization value so that the steps you can't edit or delete are not visible or slightly greyed out. As it is now everything looks the same. Even better would be if the number of steps visible in the grid changed to match the quantization value so if I have Q set to 1/16 those are the only steps I can see in the grid. Maybe other notes entered off that grid could be ghosted so they are still visible in the background. This would visually help see the different quantization layers in the grid. I like to visually see the rhythm probably because of years of reading music.

  • Updates amazing...> @slicetwo said:

That's how I'm using it, but in a DAW. What's really nice, if you host in Cubasis as Auv3, you can record the MIDI directly from the EG Pulse pads on to the track, and play it back.

  • @ElliottGarage I noticed if I have AUM playing and then click on host sync, play within Pulse it will start playing at 2x BPM.

I agree. It would be a huge improvement if there were actual triplet divisions and the grid display makes obvious which slots are allowed.

BeatHawk's step editor is worth looking at in pad mode. It does this very well. Triplets at various divisions are pretty important.

  • Molten does tuplets well in my opinion

  • @rezidue thanks, bug fixed.

About triplets I'll definetely work on this soon, but it needs some time and changes to how my engine currently works...just a little patience :)

Thanks guys, you are embarrassing me :)
Anyway I'm the first to have fun playing with my apps, so I enjoy doing it :D

  • One crazy thing that Elastic Drums has going for it is different timing divisions per track.
So on one track a step duration could be 1/16 on another track 1/32, 1/8 or 1/24 etc.

This would be especially handy in EG Pulse since each track can already have its own length but with no control over timing...

Also the Swing could work on both 1/8 and 1/16 with a % slider instead of preset %

The Swing & Snap buttons should toggle the LCD info. It's annoying having to go to the X dismiss it if the only reason was to check the current value...

Sorry I've just got slight OCD for small details...

Not sure if it's mentioned recently, but it would be great if the grid "cell" width changed based on the quantization. It feels weird to touch the screen and not see a note appear where you are trying to place a note.
