Something cool I thought about is if you created a AU sizeable host module inside MiRack we could use the Tube AU app by @Blue_Mangoo to actually watch and follow on with online miRack tutorials inside the rack!

How cool would that be? You can already do it in AUM with other AU apps.

It’s all about keeping everything on one screen. Just a thought. It would certainly make building racks if you only got one screen a lot easier to do from tutorials.

  • Wow, that's um.. interesting use of AU :) I guess until I add AU host support I could just have a resizable browser view... BUT you can already use miRack split-screen with a browser or YT app - surely uses more space than needed though.

  • Thanks for pointing me towards Dean’s excellent video (and soon to be a series I believe).. he just nails it as far as starting from a beginner’s viewpoint - which I totally am - did the complete walk-through with him and I’ll be lost in this for the rest of the night, week, month etc... 😄 This was the last app I picked up on BF and have been poking around and watching a few vids (it’s always the connections that seem to do me in) BUT - this is the one that actually got me into exploring this amazing app.. successfully!

Anyone that needs to baby-step through this sonic-goldmine-of-an-app definitely needs to watch this..
Dean, if you’re reading any of this.. thank you very much.. top job! 👍

  • This is the most dope rollin app for gangsters of audio design. I am still so so overwhelmed. Glad there are some sick new 'presets' and well its so amazing Hailzzz to the epic MIRACK!

  • If only Google weren’t dicks about letting you pop out the video from the YouTube app...

  • I'm just going to leave this here... and go test how usable it is.

I love these surprises. I'll check but does it load in FX slot as AU as well?

Hey! I spent one day on this...

Yeah, well, just to avoid confusion, it's not a screenshot of the next update :)

  • brilliant :) this is good news.

No rush, your app is awesome already. Interesting to see how it goes with the multi threading others have warned against using.

Ya know, some of us around here are old enough that a screenshot like that could be considered a health threat.

  • Would it be possible to add Audio Kit's open source TuneUp code to MiRack? This would permit sending tunings from Wilsonic into MiRack.

    +1

    +1 hear, hear

  • @Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr fyi, there is a module that will get you halfway there.. the scala quantizer by Nysthi can load scala files. so you could export a wilsonic scale and load it into the quantizer. Would be very cool if Tuneup would load it in real time though.

  • So I've made a build with MIDI mapping available to beta testers.

Currently it allows to map CC to any virtual module controls. With virtual knobs it's straightforward; for toggle switches, including multi-positional, there's a mode where each CC=127 message will advance a switch to the next position. This is mean to be used with pads configured to send CC (and they also work naturally for virtual momentary buttons), but can also be used with knobs if needed, so that rotating to the max toggles a virtual switch.

Also, a MIDI control can be assigned to multiple virtual controls to change them all simultaneously.

    Any other useful assignment types?

It could be cool if there was a mode to use only one physical knob to adjust the virtual knob you last tapped on. I think there are situations where this is easier than mapping several knobs. (Edit: kinda like an alpha juno works)

Great idea! Also a “fine” knob Mode would be Great so you can also fine Tune last parameter touched.
BTW, is there new modules coming?? I really miss filters....

  • I am just getting around to trying to convert some patches that have the Fundamental modules and realizing that for some modules, the lack of any labeling makes it really hard to know what the plugs are for. Sometimes it is obvious but sometimes not. It would be very helpful if there were some sort of labels.

  • Deans pool of tides patches sounds absolutely magnificent — Check it out

@mifki Tried mapping my Korg NanoKeys Studio via CCK3 and usb no joy not working under present beta latest build.

    It works fine with Shockwave.

@espiegel123 ir you double click the module you can see a label with the name of the module!
Edit: ok! You mean labels for the ins and outs.... that should be very helpful

Yes, I mean the labels for the ins/outs/whatever. Sometimes it is obvious sometimes it is not and i find that if makes the process of updating with supported modules quite tedious.

  • Guys and gals!
I'm loving MiRack. Being able to do modular on my streetcar commute to/from work is a gamechanger.
Question though. Not able to currently open my mirack patches properly in VCV. The specific ones that seem to be giving me trouble are the Autodafe-Drums which feature in each patch. It's weird. I have autodafe drums and in a fresh VCV patch I can add them no problem. The only thing I can think of is that Autodafe drums are only on my comptuter in 1.0 form. I never had them with .6. But the wierd thing there is I dont have the .6 version of 8mode soft SN and any of the Bogaudio ones and they open just fine. Anyone have any insight into this issue? Here's the exact message that pops up.
    Cheers!

****Maybe try opening the patch in a text editor and check the plugin slug name.
Compare it to a VCV v1 patch containing those drums.
“Kick” may not be called by “Autodafe-Drumkit” in VCV v1.
    Etc.etc.etc..
Edit accordingly and re-save a copy.

    I appreciate your input!
    I actually did exactly that.
It’s Identical aside from Version number.
Version in the patch is 0.6.0.
    I have 1.0.0.
I don’t know if certain 1.0.0. aren’t backwards compatible or if something else is going on.
The fact that the 1.0 8mode and Bogaudio works without a 0.6.0. on my computer makes me think something else is happening.
I sent an email to the autodafe developer asking for any insight but it’s only been a couple days.
But maybe it is as simple as just having the older version in this specific case.
