So, any issues found with audio input in the beta?
@mifki Been fine for me so far no obvious issues
Mirack is becoming unusable without a return to host button when host by AUM, i get alot of audio cracking and CPU spikes when i have to close and expand windows.
I'll add the return to host button.
Excellent, you may find this helpful. This is Jonathan’s blog. He’s the developer for AUM. http://devnotes.kymatica.com/iaa_quirks.html
Yeah I know, some of that stuff was really helpful.
Awesome, hopefully you saw this page too.

this thing!!! better every time i open it!!
Not expecting a fix, but just so you know, miRack doesn’t work properly with a 1st gen 13” iPad Pro on iOS 12. The rack graphics only take up about half the screen area (left side, horizontal middle) and the control touch coordinates don’t match the graphics.
Hmm ..... I’m on a 1st gen 12.9” iPad Pro on IOS 12.3.1 and everything is working fine, what version of 12 you on?
12.0
Have you considered updating to 13.2.2? I just updated my other 12.9” iPad Pro (which is a 2nd gen) to 13.2.2 and everything seems to be working well and it’s just as snappy as my 12.3.1. I was holding off updating the 2nd gen because reports abounded of the Korg Bluetooth stuff not pairing with 13 .. but then I realized 11.2 that came with it (just bought this 2nd gen NOS) was not pairing with my Korg stuff either .. so I said what the heck and went for the latest 13.2.2 since it fixed the memory management bug .. held my breath while it downloaded and installed .. then was pleasantly surprised when all my music apps worked well!
As this was the only problem I’ve encountered as a result of sticking with 12.0, I think I’ll pass. I want my legacy apps to continue to work...
Wow, weird, I'll see what I can do.
I’ve got apps going all the way back to the original Nanostudio, Alchemy, Rebirth, etc. .. that will not work on 12 .. so I keep a couple old 3rd and 4th gen iPad’s running 9 and 10 for those, but I haven’t found any of my old apps that work on 12 that won’t work on 13. I know your going to stick with 12 as am I on my 1st 12.9 Pro .. but I’m curious which legacy apps you’d be afraid of loosing going from 12 to 13?
Loving mirack so far! The main thing I wish to see is multitouch. There is so much potential there. The second thing is that gui sliders should move the same distance as your finger as you swipe. I’m sure these are on the list of todos but to me these are more important than modules and other improvements.
Yes it's on the todo list. Slider behaviour will be part of the multitouch work I guess, but I'll increase slider sensitivity for now, I know it's too low.
Hi from NYSTHI !
Please if you see any bug or crash in nysthi modules, report it in my github/issues
https://github.com/nysthi/nysthi/issues/
clarifying that the platform is
miRack
thank you
Hey Nysthi, good to see you here!
A huge thank you for your great work and for porting your lovely modules to iOS!
I don't think it's a good idea to move tiny sliders by the same distance as the finger moves, this would render zoomed-out modules inoperatable.
I think that something in-between would be a good compromise between not having to move the finger too far but still being able to fine-adjust.
One nice implementation is the knob editing in iOS thor synth. If you haven't seen it please have a look.
Ditto! Thanks @nysthi!
Perhaps the fine slider movement could use a long touch like the iOS space bar.
There are several options.
One is to be able to switch to circular mode for knobs.
Another is to use a fixed with and height for knob/slider adjustments so the user can get used to how far the finger has to be moved for certain adjustments. Currently, the constant adjustment distance is already present for knobs but e.g. not for some custom Nysthi sliders.
A third option is to detect linear vs vertical adjustments by the direction your finger first moves and then, dragging away from the control will make adjustments finer.
Example: Tap a knob, drag it up or down, move the finger away from the knob to the left or to the right for doing finer adjustments.
Same for dragging the knob left or right, then move the finger up or down for finer adjustments.
Sounds complicated but it's actually quite intuitive, requires no pre-setting of any user preference and no tap-hold waiting is necessary.
I would prefer it this way because on some tiny knobs on a busy module, you never know if you hit the (correct) knob and then you would have to wait until fine adjustment is enabled, just to find out you've touched the wrong knob.
That’s the point. I have no idea, but being risk averse and knowing there’s no going back once I upgrade, since there’s nothing new that depends on iOS 13 that I want more than what I already have, I’m sticking with 12.
@nysthi Welcome to the Audiobus forum! Love your creative modules!
thank you for this :-) it really is a biggie for me.
I'm porting
SUSSUDIO
to miRack tooI did forget how powerful is (sample player with 6 independent play heads, scenes, and fast sample switch)
may i be the first to say “ OH HO!”
and one of many to say “willkommen on board”
Cool. Let's use ten of these and build a granular synth 😅
"Speed" also means pitch, right?
yes, + you have the CV input for the 1V/octave (and the OCTAVE KNOB)
the idea is different from granular, is more to create cinematic gestures having same source, dissected and reinterpreted
