    Drag up/down

I have tried that many, many times and can’t make it work. The box moves under my finger but won’t stay anywhere when I let go.

IDK man. It works for me. 🤷🏻‍♂️

  • Thanks. I'll keep trying.

  • Weird it does the same for me. It looks like it is going to move and lifts up but once you let go, it reverts back to the same spot.

Maybe try making sure you’re not moving horizontally. In the timeline I realized I had a tendency to slide clips horizontally but end with a slight downward movement before I lifted my finger (like a flicking motion). The clip would snap back to its original position. When I made a point to lift straight off it was fine and not a tough adjustment to make.

  • Thanks. Maybe that was it.

[edit] on further experimentation, it seems the cause is not being able to drag anything into the first slot. I can drag the first slot downward, but I can't drag anything up to the first position. I can live with that, but it will no-doubt confuse people.

Hmmm. I can drag into first slot no problems.

Ok EDIT. Are you just talking about AU audio FX?

    Yes, just AU FX.

[edit] However, it seems not to make any difference. I can't drag an FX into the top position. That isn't a problem now that I know I can drag down from the top position. But if it's the same for all people, then it will cause confusion. I will report to Zenbeats if it's confirmed that it works this way for everyone and not just for me.

  • It does work❤️😌☝️🙏
Able to change order of audio effects easily now.❤️❤️

Can you drag anything to the top slot?

  • Just tried it on the master track. I have bark filter and no limits as audio effects. Was able to switch them. Up or down.

  • Start with the top on and push down

  • Let me rephrase the question...

Can you drag an effect from a slot that is not the top slot up to the top slot?

I know they can be dragged down from the top slot. I’m just looking for confirmation whether anyone can drag into the top slot.

The purpose is to determine whether I should report that issue to the developer so they can decide if they should change that behavior or not.

    Thanks 🙏

  • If its effects chain I can drag from bottom to top....

I can drag into the top fx slot consistently. I just did it continuously for :30 seconds with both ZB and 3rd party fox.

  • How do you remove a MIDI Effect once it has been added? I added Mozaic with my script and now I want to remove Mozaic. I don’t see anything that will present me with a list of added MIDI Effects with a choice to remove it.

Click on the effect and use the quadrangle menu in the corner to delete it.

Open the sidebar for the track you want to remove the effect from using the arrow in the bottom left hand corner. Tap on the effect you want to remove and its window will open up.Tap on the 4 square button in the upper right corner of that window and you'll see it in the drop down menu.

Wow, that is very, very strange. I can drag to my heart's content but not into that first slot. I'll work with it some more to see if I can find out what's going wrong. Thanks for checking. I didn't want to do a bug report if it is just me.

  • I find it amazing that Roland doesn't just post the training sessions... someone might get excited and buy the damn thing. I suspect they want to continue to build a data repository to market to so they use sign ups for that purpose. Still... I'll check you tube to see how many 3rd party trainers there are to fill the need of the tire kickers.

I bought StageLight and converted at announcement but the IAP's just didn't do much for me so I need some working sessions to get excited enough to open and play around. I had similar reactions to BM3 and NS2's sound packs. Now the sounds I could add to Elec Tribe Wave are perfect but the DAW aspect... not so much.

I expect Roland's involvement in ZenBeats will only improve the audio packs over time.
Let's check into YouTube and see.

BUT THE TRAININGS SHOULD BE PUBLIC. My 2 cents.

  • @McD One of the benefits of the training for me was to be able to ask questions in chat and have the trainers address them in the session. Maybe it's because of this (chat), that they want to limit the class size and require sign-ups? For me, the end result was more useful than a YouTube live stream.

Just long press it and delete it....

Thank you. But I have another question. Instead of having to wait for a one-off answer here, how could I EVER have found that without scrolling through videos until I found something that addressed it (if it was there at all)? Is a manual coming soon? Preferably pdf?

What I like to do is watch YouTube training on my time schedule and start/stop the training while I try to repeat what I have been shown. If I have questions I can post them in a forum. Do they have a functional users forum, chat or messaging system in the app?

I still haven't gotten to looking for general Zenbeats training. It seem like someone is serving my request already.

They are working on an in-app manual. I suggest taking an hour or so and tapping on the icons on each page and seeing what’s there. You’ll soon see that things like the arrow in the lower left corner opens a side bar related to whatever page you’re on. The 4 square icon opens a menu relative to your location. Once you become familiar with where things are its pretty easy. In other words, don’t try to find a function, look at the menus and see what functions are there. Make notes if it helps. Then you’ll know where to go when the time comes.

If you take some time to tap around specifically to see where things are before immersing yourself in a project it’s a lot easier. Also, taking the classes and asking questions directly with the Zenbeats product specialists is priceless.

  • I am really enjoying learning and working with Zenbeats, to the point I am deleting some of my other DAW type apps to free up room on my iPad. I attended the Roland intro class last night and while most of it was a review of their published videos, it was nice to be able to ask a few questions. If you are still learning, like me, I highly recommend the class. I am signed up for the advance class.

One thing I noticed early on in my messing around with Zenbeats is that iBassist shows up as a midi input. I can route the bass line and the two other out channels from iBassist into Zenbeats! Nice. I have not, however, found a way to route an added Lumbeats drummer app midi out into Zenbeats. Is there some sort of midi bridge I can put between a Lumbeats drum app and Zenbeats? Drums remain mostly a mystery to me and the ability to have some realistic sounding, easily generated drum lines would be a massive bonus.

Each drum kit in ZB comes with a bunch of patterns. You could give those a try.
