  • About the "MIDI reset ch" - I had same issue for a while.
A "hard reset" (not just a restart) solved it for me.

  • @timbo I agree on the MIDI map issue. Found I had to save a new map with my changes. Then the stand-alone sticks with that map; not yet sure about AU.

@wim I'm using the Galileo IAA, because I can't get the AUv3 to respond to program change.

That's the problem then. iOS can suspend Standalone apps whenever it feels like it, and that can cause the sound crap-out. I assume you have "Background Audio" turned on in Galileo 2, or you wouldn't have gotten this far. Sadly that doesn't stop this kind of timeout unless the app maker has taken special measures to prevent it.

I see what you mean though, I can't get the AUv3 to respond to PC either, even though I'm sure everything is set up properly. It seems that to use PC with the AUv3, you need to save the presets to AUM's presets, then use AUM's MIDI control / MIDI Learn to call them up. I don't know if you want to go that route, but it does work. It might be worth a try.

For those of you who took the plunge, I have couple of questions

    • is the B-3X stable when run in AUM?
    • Is it a CPU hog, or can it co-exist with other synths/sound generators?

I currently have a live setup using Galileo 2, iSymphonic, Heavy Brass and SynthMaster1 in AUM, controlled from my keyboards using KeyStage. I’m running this on a 2018 “cheap” iPad.

Unfortunately Galileo 2 frequently crashes and requires reloading. I haven’t gigged with this setup yet (nobody is at the moment), but at a band rehearsal the other day Galileo crashed mid-song with a loud buzz. I can’t risk this happening mid-gig.

I also find it is very flaky in the connection department, it keeps losing the audio connection, especially when I try to play along to music on my iPad in practice. 1 time in 10 I can persuade it to play nice with Anytune, but I can’t make it work with Apple Music or Spotify. I don’t have this problem with any of my other sound generators.

If B-3X is stable and efficient enough I’d be prepared to drop the hammer on it, but I’d be more than a bit upset if it was no more stable than Galileo given the price factor.

Alternatively if anyone has advice on how to make sure Galileo is stable, I’d be grateful. I’ve set all the buffer sizes in AUM and Galileo to the max 512, but no improvement.

I’ve been using it live since it came out and its been rock solid (not live recently because of lock down ). Never had an issue, and I run it in AuM along side other power hungry apps (on an ipad pro v2).
I still can’t fathom the midi prog change though!!

  • I don't own it but someone might be interested in these presets. I'm guessing they can be used in iOS as well? https://www.ikmultimedia.com/news/?id=TomBrislinPresetsForHammondB-3X

Yes they work on the iPad version too.

  • Hooray - got this great app working on my new MacBook Pro as standalone, no issues yet. (After IK helpfully said, tough - you must buy it again if you want to use it on your Mac!!)

  • Just got the iPad app , but where are the Jordan Rudess/Deep Purple presets?

Or IK deleted em when they included the TB presets?

BTW, the manual makes no mention to how to import presets from desktop

  • The user and all related content has been deleted.
  • Has anyone else had trouble getting this to load in Logic Pro? I keep getting an error message.

I’m not interested in this particular app on iOS or desktop because I am a terrible keyboardist, but I will say that between the group buy 2 months ago and my recent purchase of modo drum, IK software is making it into a lot of my mixing and creating right now. Svx2 is incredible and modo drum is very deep, it’s helped me revive some older songs that are being re-released. Thankfully I’m hearing major progress in my recording skills after hearing how I recorded drums 12 years ago...yikes!!

I’m only sad that the tape machines are so cpu heavy, my 2012 MacBook Pro has a hard time with them in some situations. They sound really great, there’s something I can’t quite put my finger on about them over other tape sims I have. That’s not a complaint to IK though, i just refuse to get a newer mbp, the 2012 has too many good things about it.

Ha! I’m quoting my own post because this thread popped up again and I guess my post was the last one I had looked at in the thread.

I got the b3x in a group but last year and have had to mix some jazz tracks that had organ parts given to me as midi (they used the logic b3, which sounds pretty good). But the b3x takes the tracks to another level, and even though I can’t play keys well at all, I can design sounds. I mapped the drawbars to knobs on my controller and made some movements during the song. It’s so expressive!

This is from an EP I mixed the same group from 2 years ago and the b3x is on this track (at least I think it is!). I’ll post something from the new one when they release it.

I’m also seeing an error when loading:

    Reload shows the same error.

  • Same here :(
Now let @IK_Multimedia know the issue.

  • No need for this pricey organ by IK you got the same B3 included in Ligic ios , big saving. The sound is among the best and you save $100 .

Same for Amps Tonex you got a Amps designer in Logic why to pay so much monney for the crazy high prices of IK Multimedia.

Thanks to Logic desktop and iOS I save hundred of $ not buying anymore anything from IK Multimedia and it is at least 5 years subscription to Logic iOS.

  • Got this reply from IK, I'm sure others have already messaged but thought it was worth sharing anyway.

I’m definitely not gonna spend that amount for IKs organ, but just simply having an organ existing in Logic does nothing for me to stop buying other apps. I still work in AUM, C3, etc and those plugins don’t exist there.
