  • I can not wait to see some tutorials on this app!

  • Yes!! Download in progress!

  • For a quick look how Drum Perfect works, click on song, go to song page and click on load. Load demosong. Play song, and then close that page and return to main page. There you can edit individual patterns.

  • This Morris....I'll give that a spin.

Good multi-layered acoustic drums is something that I'm still lacking in my iOS sound arsenal. There is DrumJam, but I see that as something that works better for percussions of various kinds.

Anyway, this app seems perfect for getting natural sounding drum loops. But, good sampled multi layered acoustic drums are something that's lacking in my sample library. So, how many kits does this come with? Is 5 correct?

  • Only one that I can see. But you can create custom kits and plenty of samples are included.

One kit? Really sure about that? In Doug's pre-release video he had 5-6 kits, one of which he had made from Korg Gadget (I thought the other were factory kits, dry kit, funk, jazz etc).

  • No. I'm not sure. But in my kit selection I have "Jazz - Funk Full" and then a number (15) of kits without samples set up. But there are a ton of samples to use and build your own.

    The kits included are:

    Acoustic

    Vintage Funk

    Dry

    Jazz-Funk Full

And as Wayni said, plenty samples included.

  • Oh I see now. Go into the "Edit" page and select "Load".

  • I haven't picked up the release yet, but the beta came with 4 kits. Acoustic Full, Jazz-Funk Full, Dry Kit and Vintage Funk. I created one from Derek Buddemeyer's drum samples, but they aren't part of the release for obvious reasons. There are free multi sampled drum sets out there though, I have a few I haven't started working on yet.

  • Nice! Guess I know what I'll be doing all evening.

  • Ok. So the four kits does not use all the samples that are included, so you can make kits with completely different snares and kicks etc, correct?

@Boone51 Well, when you finish that, you'll really enjoy playing with DrumPerfect...

  • You can mix and match as much as you like. Nothing to stop you sticking any sample anywhere.

  • ^Not what Chris asked about. Are there samples not used in the four kits?

  • But the four kits uses four different multi sampled snares for example right? Are there more snares included then those specific four packs/kits? (And all other elements obviously)

I would just get it, but I've really spent a wee bit much on music apps lately, and as hard as it is, I gotta at least try to put the brakes down (just a bit), hence the questions :)

  • Puhleez @ChrisG. I bought it, and I'm currently unemployed. Plus...what's the likelihood of me even getting past the interview proces...

  • You got a great shot, if you learn how to tie your shoes. Lol

  • Lol...that was planned...it shows off my time management skills. I save 10 minutes a week by leaving them untied.

  • Lol..Well my shoes are always tied, which saves me about 10 minutes a week as well.

  • Ok to answer @ChrisG 's question. To my untrained eye it looks as if all of the included samples are being used in the provided kits. But you can easily select an instrument, copy its samples and plug them into a kit that you build yourself. So if I like the Acoustic Kit's snare I just copy the whole lot and paste it into another kit. Eight samples per hand arranged High and Low.

  • Thanks @wayni

I'm...gonna have to sleep on this one...:)

  • IAA, Audiobus and MIDI clock are rock solid with Cubasis and Auria if that helps at all. :)

  • Clock sync out as well?

  • There is no clock sync out from the app itself. It will only act as a slave. But it keeps time very well from the host and supports song pointer info.

  • I zzeee, thanks!

    Man!
It's a drum app- makes sense for it to be able to be the master clock, no?
Some people might not even care, but to me that's really a disincentive to buying (yet another app)...
