I think the system, as it were, needs to be tight enough to stop the bad people abusing it, and bending it to their own means.
In the UK we're discovering just what having an unwritten consitution really means, with our idiot leader trying to shut down parliament, and changing laws to protect his cronies. With no written constutution, keeping a rogue government in check is proving to be almost impossible.

oh I'm not advocating for having no system and I think our constitution is a great document, I'm just saying that if you elect an bad person to be the caretaker of said constitution then bad things will happen.

I can instead ask some leading questions. answer me or even yourself. do you think Trump, Putin, Xi Jinping, etc. are exceptional people? do you think society would not offer them a replacement? if you choose a suitable talking head, everything will be fine right away, and the policeman will give you a bunch of violets, and the big business guys will pay for your health insurance? do you seriously believe that? I said that the President of the United States is not only a symptom, but one of many symptoms that are just like him from which he derives his power and that to not acknowledge that fact is to not acknowledge reality. There are good people and bad people, they put good people and bad people in positions of power, some fight harder than others for the bad or good things that they want to do, it's as simple as that. Nobody is ignorant to the degree that they don't understand do unto others that you want done to yourself... Nobody wants to be mistreated, but there are those that want to mistreat others.

one perplexing thing about the illustrious fuhrer's response to the protesting is whether or not he has access to the same video footage broadcast on standard channels across the nation because he can't seem to tell the difference between people who are destroying property on film and people who are not destroying property on film. I worry if he suffers from the Morgan Jackson Samuel L. Freeman syndrome because in all of the footage I've seen so far I can clearly see the people who are throwing things and the people who are not, the people who are destroying property and the people who are not etc... I wonder if the Whitehouse is running a different feed intravenously into the President.

For almost three months now we’ve had totally cloudless blue skies and sun. Every day. Aside for maybe two days, where we had a bit of drizzle. The rivers have dried up, fish relocated to tanks, reservoirs emptying.
In Mid Wales, where people usually gather in the street in excitement when the permanent thick clouds momentarily disperse, to give a brief glimpse of the thing others call, the sun.
This bothers me as much as the virus. We had two months solid storms and floods, then it stopped dead and replaced with three months solid sunshine.
This ain’t Florida, we don’t do sun here much, even in the summer.
Apparently climate change affecting the Gulf Stream is causing weather to get ‘stuck’, so we’re getting long periods of the same thing. Weather experts are getting worried. Me too.

)...I spent a fair bit of time paddling down the Wye and yomping through Montgomeryshire on a number of different occasions down the years and The Tent Is Always Wet was our mantra....
I’ve lived around this area for 30 years and never experienced anything like it. Beginning of the year we had constant storms and weird, strong winds that seemed to whip up from all directions. Then the floods.
But this - crystal clear blue skies, every day, since March? In Mid Wales?
