And the economy would be much more open though our lives would be different.

It was a joke. It's not likely Trump will get much support from Blacks, Latinos, Muslims, Women or the College Educated. If they turn out (or use mail in ballots that get counted) Trump should loose but there will be lots of
games played to try and tilt the table.
Trump's best shot is to help get people jobs and income security by November which is going to be a challenge since the virus doesn't care about election cycles. He'll want to do big events and point to his "black supporter" in the crowd again and that will probably suppress the vote if it causes super-spreading of the virus. I can't imagine 5,000 people listening to him while wearing masks.
Getting laid off can be depressing but lots of businesses closed up and won't see full hiring anytime soon.
It's not like the request to "shelter in place" caused the economic issues... even in Sweden most businesses
are running at a fraction of their usual output. Most people don't want to gamble with this bug. And those that do need to be avoided. It's not the flu. It can really mess up your brain too as well as your lungs.
