  • I want to say, I came to this forum because I love music. I don’t want to argue. I let this thread get it me and I shouldn’t have. I’m thankful for what I have, where I live, and my children. (Single parent). I believe we should love each other and serve mankind the best we can. That’s it.
    Peace, bye

  • Oh, and Mr. Max23, I grew up in Mississippi in a very poor family. I know a little about racism. It is ugly and it comes from both sides.
    You get a clue!

So how is that reflective of “the public overall’ ??? .. and of the small percentage of the population who’re out there protesting, most individuals are peacefully doing so...so it’s not even fair to broad brush the protesters, much less this wider net you’re intent on casting.

  • Fair? Ask the media.

  • To clarify, I was simply trying to make the point that I don’t believe the overall public (where I live) are following safety guidelines. Maybe 30% are wearing masks. They do not want to follow rules, ignorant and spoiled. I’ve read over 100 pages of Trump bashing in this thread, like he caused the virus. I know you leftists are gonna hate, but get real. I was alluding to the rioting and luting as being ignorant and selfish, like not wearing masks. It seems the media brainwashing is well in hand. I just hope you know what you are in for. I still hope the best for you, even though we have opposing viewpoints. I am a professional Jazz bassist and professor, most of my friends and colleagues are black. Your little racist joke was offensive. Well, actually it was kinda funny. I’m out, I don’t think I belong in this thread. Too negative.

  • @fritzm in a perfect world leaders should/would be held accountable, indeed some have been, but in often ridiculous show trials. In reality punitive measures are often paid for by the masses.

Which is totally irrelevant to the catastrophic errors made by the U.S. in January, February and March -- and really continuing till now. We still have no national policy. Don't mandate masks. Have inadequate testing. Too many cases to effectively, trace.

These large scale failures are on a scale that pale in comparison to the degree to which people are skirting the inadequate measures in the U.S.

Blaming the scale of the problem on people here not following the rules is to not understand the scale of the problem.

if there are still to many new cases to trace down the infection chain you opened up to fast and you are back to square one: isolate everyone as much as possible to stop the infection chain until its manageable numbers.
if you dont do that all efforts you did before are completely pointless and it will have the same disastrous outcome as if you had done nothing in the first place ;)

The case load in large states has not been low enough for effective test and trace. Re-openings will make > @fritzm said:

The rioting is a response to the ongoing structural racism which has caused far more damage to the black community than is being done by these looters. Anyone saying racism goes both ways does not understand the extreme asymmetry of racism and power distribution. If you think white folks are equally victims of racism you don’t understand the the scale of anti-black racism or the historical or contemporary suffering of the black community.

I just think a lot of the young kids, have had enough of the neo-fascist leader and the system that underlies his power, the system that doesn’t seem to change.

detractors gotta do what detractors gotta do, albeit transparently

    they know the difference between

    protestors

    looters

    murderers

members of racist organizations embedding with crowds for the purpose of fomenting support for a race war

and stupid people doing stupid sh*T

they know the difference, they just want to talk about them like they are all the same.... or like they are all antifa lol

C'mon man, how you gonna claim offense of some racist joke and talk about bashing Donald Trump, he's a walking racist joke... sorry but that's not how credibility works and jazz and all the black friends in the world can't change the fact that we have a racist president.

You live in a world of CNN 20 seconds soundbites. Apparently that is ALL you know. I'm not a Trump supporter btw. But, I do believe the driving forces behind mainstream media are playin' you folks. Trump doesn't have the power you think he does. Like I said earlier, I lived in China for 6 years and I don't want any part of socialism. The dems are leading you right down that path. But you are so hell bent on Trump you can't see the forrest for the trees.

  • @fritzm: the ills of China have nothing to do with socialism. Socialism is an economic system not a political one. China's ills are the result of it being a non-democratic authoritarian state. The same was true of the USSR. Capitalist authoritarian states are just as objectionable.

I beg to differ. It is both, plus it is cultural as well.

  • china and russia are not socialist systems, they are doing capitalism as is the rest of the world. ;)

Yes, I will agree with the capitalist part. It was funny living there and being called a capitalist by the leaders in capitalism.
I'm just trying to say this: Trump seems to be a spoiled, rich kid that grew up around other spoiled rich kids and is extremely socially awkward, and used to getting his way. That does NOT make him Adolph Hitler! The liberal press has pounded him since day one. No chance for him at all. It reeks of something very vial and rotten. Liberals have seemingly turned from loving, peaceful minded people, in to the very people they used to mock. I can't deal with either side. The country I grew up in has become a joke. The press at center stage.

  • More appropriately, I should have used Mao Tse Tung as an example.

The press is not a center stage. Or, in another way of looking at it, it was purposefully put in the center as a tool and a distraction. Don't be a tool. Also, there's a massive distinction between entertainment and news. Since news is often negative, people would much rather be entertained. But that leaves it more to the viewer to be discerning, and to differentiate between fact and fiction, pundits and actual reporters.

However, if ANYONE hasn't seen the horrific things this President has done - and that's only the things we know about - then they're simply being willfully blind. And spoiled rotten. Sometimes people saying bad things about another person, like, maybe the press, is BECAUSE THAT PERSON IS BAD. Jesus f'ing christo. Trump is not JUST some spoiled rich kid. He's the President of the United States, and he's grossly incompetent, has been clearly a racist for decades. He's way too friendly to former enemies of the US, and way too selfish and ignorant of former allies. He's putting kids in cages (and losing their relatives), destroying the environment, stacking the courts, lies instead of leads every single day, and... hell, the list is too long of things he actually does. This sht isn't made up. It isn't a conspiracy. Just because people, I don't know, care to point out evil doesn't somehow make the person pointing it out bad, too. Ignoring evil doesn't make it go away. It makes it grow and spread.

Why is it that you have this mindset that "liberals are peaceful"? Liberals aren't some carefully managed organization. They don't espouse one single point of view, even at the national level. Because they're liberal! Take a look at conservatives at the national level (I can't generalize that to the individual level, but I'm wary from too many examples) in comparison - they're almost militant in their consistent responses, very much sounding like someone told them what to say and they all fall in line and follow orders.

I do agree that this country is a joke. At least 1/3 of the population of it seem willfully blind and unable to cope with reality.
