I can say so far about the, track, trace (UK) governments program, I can say I will not directly comply with it.
Why?
No data protection, absolutely no way to verify who is contacting you, no testing for the virus and it’s probably not fair, the creators of this system will not abide by it. So Boris can stick it......or the real boss can.
Why do you say “no testing of the virus”? What I have read says that anyone with symptoms is supposed to get tested and contact will be traced.
Is the objection that you will be asked to self-isolate for two weeks without a test if you come into contact with an infected person?
From what I’ve listened to on the BBC News, people who have been in contact with someone who has symptoms of the virus has to isolate for 14 days with no test to check if they’ve been infected.
I will be complying, but imo it's doomed to fail... it could only work with a public backing, trust and good will... none of them currently apply.

Are you saying that you wouldn’t self-isolate if you have been told that you were in contact with someone that has the virus?
You have been vocal about how lockdowns can’t go on forever. Successfully killing off the outbreaks requires that people take the actions to prevent themselves from being vectors of transmission.
Contacts self-isolating is a MUCH better way to end the lockdowns and outbreaks than potentially infected people NOT self-isolating because they would prefer testing. And sure, testing everyone would be best, but with the level of infection in the U.K. that may simply not be possible at this point even if we wish otherwise.
I have and would self isolate, but comply with this, so far as yet, half baked version of track and trace, no I will not, I would personally inform anyone that I had been in contact with, as I already have done when I had the symptoms and self isolated, before lockdown.
Technically, it won't work and goes against Google and Apple recommendations. Encryption is suspect. Privacy is non-existent. And it's been developed by a team tied to Cambridge Analytica. They got the gig without a tender process.
And from the privacy notice:
Your personal details (name, DoB, address, telephone, email) will be retained for ... twenty years! The information can be used without your consent if it's in the "public interest".

Like everything the Tories do, helping the public is the least of their concerns. As long as it harvests enough data for the NHS sell-off to the States it’ll be job done.

The app can be used to identify anyone, even if the don’t upload data from their own app to the database,but only if someone else has interacted with them and uploaded the data from the app on their device, pretty similar to the use of ‘cookies’ in browser interactions.

I don’t doubt you, but it’s completely not what I was led to believe when I was reading about the technical details of any of these systems including the centralised system adopted. The whole concept was calling itself “privacy-preserving contact tracing” when it was decentralised, and this centralised system only required first section of postcode to ID with.
My big criticism of No.10 is the strong tendency to completely ignore anything going on in the rest of the world, even if it proves itself to be best practice for a while, in favour of reinventing the wheel from scratch each time for every single aspect. It’s a stark example of “NIH” syndrome.

Yes, everyone hopes. the planet now has no path of development, and perhaps survival in general. the Soviet Union had previously proposed an alternative, but this experiment ended in failure. At first it was promising, but obviously this is a dead end. now an alternative system, conditionally democratic, is in such a dead end. it seems that they can no longer rise without loss of face and loss of the basic tenets of society. in all likelihood, we (states belonging to the European cultural field) must find a third path, different from the conditional communists and capitalists. Trump and leaders like him are just a symptom of contradictions that society can no longer hide. Of course, this way can only be found after going through a multi-level crisis — social, political, cultural, humanitarian, and even possibly military.
I don't think it's as complex as we make it out to be though, we all know decent and indecent people, if we want a decent society we have to choose decent leaders. I know the notion of power corrupts but I think we go overboard with romanticizing it a bit.... all of the leaders or public officials that we feel are corrupt like the president and many in his administration were documented as being these kind of people before they had the power, so it wasn't power that corrupted them it was them that corrupted power. Donald Trump knows the truth and one of the few times he's prevailed upon everything in his nature to tell it was when he said that he could shoot someone on 5th ave and get away with it....Trump is not only a symptom of a contradiction he's also a symptom of many more symptoms that are just like him, support him, and maintain his power. There really isn't another way around the issue than to simply choose leaders that are not like Trump, we have to choose people that have a different ideology than people like President Trump, I would even go further to say we have to choose people that are diametrically opposed to the ideologies he serves.
There really is such a thing as good and bad people and human beings are evolved enough to be able to distinguish between the two or else we would not have even been able to come up with the concept of treating people like you want to be treated. There are some people who are willing to do that and some people who are not, we should stop electing people who want to oppress other people into office and elect people who want to help other people into office, but the issue is that there are allot of people like Donald Trump, that's how he made it into office and we need to learn how to accept that fact, what it means, and fight against it.
That was President Obamas biggest problem, he was living in denial of the fact that there are allot of people that exist like Donald Trump.
I think in almost every Obama speech he said something to the affect that we all want the same thing, to feed our kids and raise are families etc... but what he didn't acknowledge is that there are other people who don't only want to feed their kids and raise their families, they also want to oppress other people and make it so that other people can't feed their kids and raise their families, and they also want to raise their families to hate other people and want the government and their townships to reflect those sentiments, it really isn't rocket science. There are people who get up at 5am every morning who can't even wait until the day begins because they are so eager to fck up other people's lives and there are also people who have been up all day long and couldn't even make it to bed until 5am because they were tirelessly out in the world trying to make things better for others. To treat these two people as if their intentions are the same is lunacy.
imho we focus too much on the systems communism, capitalism, socialism when we should be focusing on the people, if we focused on the kind of people we wanted in office it really wouldn't matter what we called the system because what's the point of having any system if we fill it with despots to run it it's gonna be a bad system.
