I see Mideast Drummer for $8.99. That’s half off, right? These Lumbeat sales never last longer than a day or two.

  • I don't believe he has ever done a Black Friday sale.

    Pretty awesome!

  • Also quite odd. Just MidEast and Brazilian.

Typically his recent sales have been on app updates. Brazilian hasn't been updated since October 2019...

Not that I'm complaining or anything...

    Mid East is truly formidable!

I was an Egoist fan too until Korg introduced Stockholm in Gadget. That replaced it for me, never looked back. It's based on rex/rx2 loops though, you either use it with all the free or commercial rex loops available for download or slice your own using propellerhead ReCycle. Certainly not everyone's business but absolutely stunning for what I do. It's like having Spectrasonics Stylus RMX on the iPad.

That's a pretty huge claim. Are you saying that because it uses Rex files? I can honestly say that I've never used any drum machine that has even come close to Stylus.

Yes. Most of what you can do in Stylus RMX can be done with Stockholm too, plus most slice and synthesis parameters can be automated in Gadget, like a different filter type and cutoff value for each slice or using a different MIDI file/clip to re-quantize (time designer) or re-shuffle (drag&drop MIDI) any sliced material.

I bought it after you said this and I can see what you mean. One of the major features of Stylus for me is the effects panel. Absolutely amazing. Stockholm has this too. I can't work out how to preview the samples all together though, I have ended up putting them into the piano roll one by one, which I'm sure isn't right. Is there a way to do this? You know like with Stylus's Multis where you can choose different samples and then choose which ones are playing? Is there a way to do that in Stockholm?

About visual, it's not music app, but maybe someone is interesting: LumaFusion for video editing 30$ -> 20$

There's a tutorial on it from Sound Test Room (Doug?). Don't know if it covers what you ask but ... :D

Yes. Its pretty good if the riff are what you are chasing. A bit bare bones though. I'll get some use out of it but ifvit had tempo change, scale selection, area of the fretboard selection it would be a great app. Add different styles and very very cool.

Those are good ideas, it does look well basic...

Even though many folks here won't like the fact that this is not AUv3 I must say that this was one of the most inspiring apps I have ever purchased and it is really good allngside with AUM for MIDI sequencing

Yep. I like it. Depends what you intend to use it for but there is a good youtube video out there. Only issue I have is I can't figure how to change the length of each chord. Melody per chord would be cool too.

Probably silly question by the look of it but can it do subtle warming up as well?
Struggling to find apps that do this well..

@krupa. Thanks for pointing it out.
I thought it was just another ‘write tabs on the train’ type app.
    Boy, was I wrong.
    😁

Wow, there is a Jazz Solo version from the same dev, also currently just $2.

    https://jazzkeys.plan8.co/ 🤷🏾‍♀️

@cazel, thanks for the heads up :) This is really amazing, especially if instead of specifically typing something you treat the keyboard like an instrument and use your phrasing skills. Even though the melodic content is pretty much random, sometimes even including a few chords, the result can be pretty amazing - creating melody lines one might never think of in a lifetime. It's a real shame that the devs didn't provide a way to output to midi, since you are more or less limited to just the piano sample, and there is no way to save your work other than simply to copy and paste the actual characters you typed in.
Of course you could record the audio, but then you wouldn't be able to change the sample sound.

But kudos to the dev - I wish it could be ported over to the iOS/iPadOS platform as an app which allowed your work to be saved.
