  • Saturn 2 is a awesome plugin.

  • Saturn 2 is very versatile and covers a lot of creative approaches to saturation that go far beyond "warming up" tasks

    This thing is awesome.

Dammit I thought I was done... ok, I’ve heard great things about 🦣 but also that it’s only suitable for “heavy” sounds... anyone that can comment on this?. I’m more into Pixies, The Cure kind of bass sound... Currently I’m running bass through Nembrini PSA1000, and Nembrini Bass EQ, no cab or I might blend in some whatever guitar amp cab...

Now on to Fabfilter... Saturn 2, right?. That’s the one... I already own a trillion distorsions and 25% doesn’t make me jump. I have it in desktop and use it quite a lot, not nearly as much as Decapitator, though...

    Cheers!

  • Not sure if posted yet, but Blocs Wave sound packs are on sale: 50% off.

Even with 25% off they're overpriced. In comparison to the rest of the iOS fauna. The whole issue being we(I) don't want the VST level of pricing. It should start to go the other way, meaning desktop instruments and plugins need to adapt, which will happen if more and more people abandon desktop. But, not if companies like Fab will have anything to say, I could make a pretty extensive list of what I have bought for the amount they want me to pay. They're good no doubt but not that much better then the competition. As always: my thoughts only.

  • For Fabfilter Saturn 2, how is the performance on the A12 processor? Can anyone share their experience? I’m tempted, but my to understanding it is quite a heavy effect (but worth it).

If I remember this is about 20% off. So that’s like £70 off with bundle now. Anyone remember?

  • I'm using it on the A10x it's quite heavy but worth it, you can turn off the heavier processing and it still sounds good :)

Groove box Pro upgrade is $6.99 ($14.99)
    Horizon synth is $2.99 ($6.99 I think)

I've found it pretty good on an older iPad Pro... I avoid High Quality modes though (8x, 32x oversampling) to keep CPU down, but with a plugin that adds grit and dirt a bit of aliasing on occasion isn't going to be all that noticeable IMO.

  • The thing with my existing FF apps is that I didn't notice a problem with the apps I used for the functions before I got them but I wouldn't like to be without them now

Totally agree on that, and I am really curious if that will significantly change with Apple going full ARM now. My biggest problem here would be the totally unfair competition between iOs devs and „big“ Vst-Players...

However I must really underline how good Fabfilters DSP programming and approach is. I could not find any other bundle that covered so many tasks with such a precise tweaking and straightforward UI like theirs when I purchased it some months ago, but I see other devs in iOS going that route now, which I really like (TB for example)

The only FF I don't have is Saturn. I'm not sure if I have it covered already. Any huge fans of it?

love saturn 2, a must have

An amazing sequencer. You wont regret it. Cykle is beside Riffer (and fugue machine) my favorite sequencing on the fly inside AUM :)

  • I bought it, thanks for all the feedback lovely forum people :)

Is there something similar by Tone Booster? What is the general consensus on Fab Filter vs Tone Booster?

  • have we heard anything about FAC apps getting a sale?

  • Are the drum packs in Groovebox usually $1.99? Or just this one? There sure are a lot of them! They’re all $0.99 if that’s a sale price.

Drum packs are normally £1.99, packs for the synths £0.99. So yes, the sale is on.

FF > TB but TB is very, very good. The important distinction for me is that TB is universal whereas FF is a pain in the arse not

  • TB definitely seems to have the forum consensus as a good and more affordable FF alternative. Reelbus does tape saturation, it is great, not the same as Saturn 2 though which is more versatile and powerful, and just different, but also has a steeper learning curve.

  • FF stuff has multiband everything, which is where things really get impressive. Being able to reverb a specific frequency, for example (or compress it or... etc)

  • Also before I went legit on desktop I may have had "evaluation copies" 👀 of FF which makes me more familiar with their products as well as slightly remorseful (plus I do miss not being able to rely on them within Ableton so having them in iOS makes up for a lot)
