£18.99! Steal!
so it’s better then rough rider?
i haven’t ever really used a compressor ive always outsourced for mastering but i want to learn some
Hello, my name is Flight Manual, and I am an Appaholic.
Keep in mind, I already bought Drum Computer (BIG FAN! YES! AWESOME! AMAZING!!!) and Gauss (Never gonna use this, really. It sounded good at the time, but I have regrets) this month. So I already have dug a hole.
Ok... So here is my tab for the past few days:
Loop Builder: $5.99
Ok, I am a sucker for having a palette of loops to select from. At first, disappointed... No Ableton Link, no MIDI implementation, loops don't match to tempo, meh. Then I figured out that this might be cool because you can route to any FX you have inside the app, up to 4 hosted per scene.... Maybe there is potential there, but I have said that before. Wrote the developer with suggestions.
Verdict: meh for now
Mood: $4.99
I was not going to buy another synth! I have plenty! Then the Red Sky Lullaby kits just sounded so fun in the demo, and my finger just kinda moved to the buy button and...
Damn, this thing is thick. Better than most at the strange and intricate.
Verdict: whoa, dude.
Electric Vintage: $3.99
I was really not going to buy another synth!!! Saw a demo of it using Riders on the Storm. Sold. Better than the Korg one in Module for sure. Wish it had more presets, including the one used in the Doors demo! But hey, Apesoft.
Verdict: a very specific sound, but pretty damn perfectly spot on. I'll probably use it in a song, someday. Maybe.
Axon 2: $2.99
Skynet in a synth? Not really. But variable high hat specialist tool? Yeah, it makes really nice hats. Verdict: Mmmm, ok.
Cykle:$4.99
Oh yes! I'd say it is the top dog in randomizing everything for step sequencing, has probability. Good for exploring what a synth can do... Not Fugue Machine, but pretty cool in it's own ways.
Verdict: Keeper.
24 bucks... What should I have bought that I don't have with that?! I really didn't NEED any of those. I'm not a big refund guy, so I get what I get and learn my lesson. BUT....
Looperator is a $15.99 IAP. Should've bought it. It is pure fun... And I have Effectrix and Egoist and Turnado and Wow. It just sounds awesome effects wise.
Troublemaker is not on sale and is $8.99. But damn if it doesn't sound like the best 303 I've heard.
That's $25. That's what I shoulda bought.
My name is Flight Manual, and I am an Appaholic. It's been 12 hours since my last App purchase. Please help me stop.
Yes, much, but they’re very different, and I think most people would use them in different situations.
Not sure MDE’S a good one to learn the basics on. Would recommend tutorials over apps to begin, then when you know what you want to do, you’ll have more of an idea of what you want. Here’s a masterclass that I remember thinking was worth my time back when I saw it. The Dan Worrall FabFilter tutorials are good too, even if you have or prefer to use or want to get different tools.
I’ve spent a shitload these days.
This is the Best Buy, best deal, best bestest. It’s a delay, a reverb and a true satisfied vintage machine. The “mic” knob is magic, black magic. We all talk about “vintage” and it usually some 1760 compressor or ssl console emulation... but it doesn’t really relate to you. I’ve never had an ssl or a 3000€ compressor, this thing sounds like “your life” vintage. Like a skating ring announcement, like an Atari on a TV, like playing guitar though a double decker cassette player in the bathroom.
Seriously, you need it. It’s not even 2€. I was gonna buy FB Saturn but I’m gonna get 10 of these instead.
I’ve been in trance for half an hour. Cykle to IVCS3, recorded half speed to Gauss, some RE-1 feedback and a buckets of Ratshack. Heavens. Btw I didn’t get the Gauss hype, my bad. It’s amazing.

Edit: @FlightManual i feeeeeeel you (Depeche). Did you get Ratshack?. Do not even dare to come to me with a hilarious list if it doesn’t include Ratshack. Also, can you do many more lists like this ☝️?. Gold.
K - Machine is down $4 to $5.99
https://apps.apple.com/us/app/k-machine-audio-visual-engine/id1095617380
Wow I highly, very highly recommend all the Auv3 Bud apps. For $.99 each you will be very happy with all 5. If I didn’t have them I’d grab all 5 immediately, or finish the lot, cause they work well together.
careful with K Machine... the app is not as plug and play as the developer makes it out to be and there are promised updates that never came out... its a cool app in theory, but just didnt live up to my expectations
Are you cereal?!
Another app I hafta buy?!
I'm supposed to be sobering up, and you're offering me a shot of delicious Ratshack Rum?!!! Just one more fix?!!! Peerpressurepeerpressure, everyone's DOING IT!!!!! Do you know how bad I have the shakes right now?!!!
um,
ok.
I'ma buy it.
(gulp)
Oh yeah,
That's the stuff...
Oh
Yeah.

Where did all these Soft Drummer inapps come from, and what are they?
Two of them were added in the most recent update.
[deleted]
Two more were added on August 11th.
The other two were added July 22nd.
@LuisMartinez should have posted these additions here on the forum.
Missing-out on some serious profits!
.
We discussed it around August 11:

They are excellent by the way... one for classic ballad brush textures and the other playing more current styles using brushes as I recall.

Oooops! 🤓
Sorry Stu!
Been waitin for this one all week!
debating 6144 cuz i heard it just sounds good, but i have so the eq!
Many here have said there is a special magic in the 6144 that agree with the app's description:
"It will add that extra shimmer to your sound already when being added to a track flat, without turning any knobs, due to its carefully designed higher harmonic generation algorithm."
I just purchased it. Can't wait the play with it...
I grabbed it and MDE Stereo, I hear they're a killer pair.
No worries, same!
