hey there!
Group the Loop is what I am currently using but it doesn't have multiple outputs and a very small dev team.
I have a Steinberg UC44 hooked up to my iPad pro, a guitar, mic, and two more ins for all kinds of other instruments and route everything into aum. I would like to be able to control as much as possible with external MIDI gear and will probably buy an mx12 in the near future.
If I could arm a track in LoopyPro with a button press and control the recording with my foot pedal, switch to another track with a button press on mx12 to start recording with the same foot pedal this would be absolutely ideal. Alternatively, I could run more instances of LoopyPro because it is an AU looper! In the end, I want to be able to fade tracks in and out and switch between loop groups like in Group the loop.
@Michael is small too. Really small. Like maybe a little bigger than a hobbit, but no more. Cute too.
@Michael will loopy masterpiece function like an auv3 audio clip launcher too, where you can use launchpad to trigger groups of loops?
You should see the desk chair I use. Adorable.
Sure, yep.
While Loopy Pro will work well as an AU, don’t rule out using it as a host though - it’s going to be an excellent host app, too, with support for things like MIDI AU’s and automatic multiple instances (for applying the same effect to multiple groups with different output channels, for example). And then it’ll work properly with getting the tempo from the first loop, which AU doesn’t really let you do.
This is the part I find tantalizing. Get that beta out the door so you can sit back in your tiny chair and watch the $$$ roll in.
Everytime this thread wakes up, my heart races.
I know, right?
It’s like you’re caught in a loop.
I’m just here for the loopy pro updates…don’t mind me
I'm so sorry 😁
Another little teaser:
(Really not long now!)
Definitely looking ace
I hate you ! ( thats wrong )
That’s an actual sequencer!. Crazy 😳
Beautiful! Feature rich, but not overwhelming, colourful, but not too busy...
The little details...
You should call it masterpiece
😮
My thoughts exactly too. I've put away my music making for a few months now, but I think this one will get me back in the game! Can't wait for it to arrive.
@Michael Does the sequencer only control whether a loop is armed or not? Or can the sequencer play one shots?
I expect the man meant 4 audio inputs. This will be possible with loopy pro AU because individual inputs can be routed to 4 different instances of loopy when hosted.
Looks like Loopy HD meets Samplebot here.
Also, being AU we will be able to open AUM inside Loopy Pro using Loopy in the output slot.
I hope😃.
So legit!!! @Michael is it possible to start the loops at unquantized times on the sequencer timeline? It seems like that is the case based on the vid but its hard to tell.
Also...I know you don't know for sure, but for my own sanity, do you foresee "Really not long now!" to mean still >=1month? Don't need like a release date, just trying to decide how frequently I should be checking this thread over the next few weeks lol.
Will you be able to loop parts of the sequencer, and trigger loops within the sequencer and looping on/off via MIDI? 4pockets MultiTrack Recorder has this and it looks like a powerful addition that I’d love to see here.
have you tried quantiloop? Its the best iOS looper in my opinion
@Michael Sorry if this has been discussed, i just noticed the notifications of this thread were going to my junk folder.
What does the input output effects GUI look like if there is any. Will you have your own effects and the ability to add IAA and AU devices. Something very important I find is having trails on reverbs and delays. I begged this of Stephan (Designer of Quantiloop) and he put them in which was a game changer for me.
The delays must sync with midi clock.
An octaver (voice or guitar to bass) effect is very handy.
Output effects must not effect incoming audio (tracks only) like the RC505
AUM is not an AU app but IAA and at least for now Loopy Pro hosts only AU effects as far as I see.
Yep, one shots too.
No need for that, LP has its own routing
Yep, absolutely.
I’m progressively opening up beta testing already; next wave shortly. Release will probably be a couple months still, but you’ll have a beta in your hands before then.
Absolutely.
I’ll post some screenshots when I’m back at my desk.
You can route different inputs to different tracks, adjust gains and monitor state, and add new audio sources – audio units (to which you can also add midi sources to drive them, including midi audio units), or track group outputs themselves, so you can use track groups as an audio source.
For output settings, you can route track groups to different output channels.
Will you have your own effects and the ability to add IAA and AU devices.
Yep, that’s in there. Builtin effects include a very well featured parametric EQ, a dynamics effect combining limiter and compressor, reverb and octave/pitch, and still to come, delay, phaser, chorus, autopan and distortion. All parameters (also for AUs) can be midi controlled or controlled by custom onscreen UI, or via a track envelope for sidechain control.
Effects can be applied to any combination of inputs and outputs, and multiple instances are handled automatically.
Yep, Loopy handles that via intro/outro sections, which play before and after track playback.
Yep
Look closer 😉 It does instruments too.
By the way, with the sequencer: if the tracks are empty, when the sequence plays back they’ll start recording, and lock in the original length, so you can automate a live performance a la Elise Trouw etc.
MIDI AUs?
