    • (this can probably be done already but worth checking:) the ability to change to playback speed of a loop, and the pitch changes according to the speed (tape-effect)

If we get some kind of playback speed option or beat matching / syncing I would love to integrate a DJ performance with my other instruments.

I remember seeing the early Loopy Masterpiece videos some years ago and getting really excited - I then forgot about it and had some less-than-ideal experiences with hardware loopers, now I am glad to see this is still on track and almost finished.

@Michael , Loopy Pro is looking incredible. The sequencer in particular is exactly what I'm after and I will buy this immediately when it's released. Well done!

I have some feature requests taken from experimental loopers. These are definitely not necessary for a functional looper - but if you're looking to extend your long list of features perhaps these will be interesting:

    Thank you! Great suggestions!

    • Besides the typical record/overdub/play, some Echoplex-inspired features like: replace, substitute, insert. The new Glou-Glou Loupé has these, and their website explains them pretty well: https://glou-glou.org/loupe/

Added to my list. Sounds good!

    • The ability to detach the recording playhead from the playback playhead, as can be done on Enso or Blooper. This might be tricky to integrate with the sequencer, but not impossible?

Can you link me to an example of this, to save me searching it out?

    Yeah, that'll be in there.

I think that Chris does a good job explaining it here, starting at 20:00 (the whole play and record head chapter starts at 16:00):

  • Really looking forward to this @Michael! Everything you’ve shared so far just looks fantastic!

Hoping I can get in on the beta too!

Okay, cool.. not sure I'm 100% convinced this is worth the implementation time. I'll stick it on the back burner and if there's lots of demand, I'll look at it again.

;) it definitely belongs to the more experimental side of things. I’m happy to keep using Enso for it within Loopy

@theinfinate Can’t you just use the built-in screen recorder?

I didn't actually think of that but it won't work as I want to hit the buttons on screen so id need loopy to be open on the screen

  • I've pretty much stopped making music on iOS until the public beta. Doesn't seem worth it to invest time into a workflow that I'm pretty sure will soon be superceded... But no pressure!

  • Something else that I loved from I think it was the kaos pad 3, you can record a loop and slice up the loop. If you look at 2:20 he explains how this works. Although id prefer silence the beats rather than a division so the loop stays the same length.

Also just a thought that popped up as I love what beardyman does with his beardytron software. Will there be an ability to have a samplebot widget within loopy? That would be so awesome as I love that app

That my friend, is what a MIDI controller is for 🤓

  • oh and another thing I loved with the kp3 was the mute button. Its good to slice the incoming audio with a momentary button so its only muted on press. Ive never seen this in any apps but I used it all the time when I had that button, its quite addictive

Samplebot actually is Loopy Pro (it's the same codebase), so it's all in there.

yeah I know and I do have many but I have my phone is mounted on my bike as I loop as im riding a bike (as you do) so I wanted to keep the setup as minimal as I can. I use a insta go 2 to film and sync audio in post but thought my phone has a good camera in it so I t would be great if I could do it all with just phone. Also I like to see the app and loops in motion

    Oh hell yeah!!!

One more thing I thought of is it possible to set up small toggle or momentary buttons for input and output effects (aum and internal) on the looping page. I really really really really like the modular concept of this beast your creating!

Yep, you can just add buttons and program them to do whatever you want

it's hard for me to accept that they weren't able to build a proper kp4. it's such a unique box but the effects grew old to my ears.. and no I wasn't impressed by that rainbow quad thing..

  • As long as it's not one of those 'subscription things' I'm all in when it drops :sunglasses:

That would be a huge disappointment if it happened…

Seriously, on your bike? That is most excellent. Any videos to watch online?

  • I have a 4 channel input. I play

    guitar on 1
    bass on 2
    vocals on 3
    Synth on 4

Will I be able assign the 4 individual inputs to the first 4 loops?

So loop one will only work with the guitar. Loop 2 will only work with the bass etc

    Ta

Haha yep bodacious! Nah not yet, im just testing waters on Facebook before I start a YouTube channel, the problem is is I just make everything on the fly, sometimes its cringeworthy so im going to start actually writing structures. Il let you know when ive got something to show, its gonna be classic! (Australian for funny af)

  • Oh I forgot to ask a very important question, are you releasing an iPhone version in your beta release as this is the only thing I use for iOS music.

"Looping while riding a bike" has got to be the most niche audiobus forum use case ever. I'm in awe. It's glorious! 👏👏👏
