Is there any way to get the sequencer to respond to a midi clock? I cannot get this working so far but perhaps it is not an option?

    Edit: started another thread

  • How is a video like this captured? Can anyone point me in the right direction?

finally a serious video and tutorial by Tim from Discchord:

  • The best way to get video from your iPad is with Display Recorder (Cydia app - jailbreak required) and record the audio on your computer. Everything else is expensive (HDMI recorder - $200+) or poor quality (Reflector for Mac only).

  • I don't feel the quality with Reflector is bad.

Same here, I've used it before and got people asking what I've used so can't be that bad...and it is free for under 10mins footage lol

  • Looks like Reflector i PC as well, or have i got the wrong app?

  • Yes, it is Mac or PC. I've used it on a Mac and it works well.

  • And it does audio as well?! Does it sound ok?!

  • I must thank the iVCS3 development team because this app has triggered my curiosity and I have found the background and history absolutely fascinating. If you like to learn then I would recommend you take time to research and study the theory behind this app because it will surely help you to get the best out of it. The more I learn the deeper I go with IVCS3 and I am finding just how powerful this is. Truly wonderful :-)

@Kloon...yes, it does audio as well. Here's one I created some time ago...

  • Mmmm...not sure why I can't embed a Vimeo link. Just google the line below! And it should be the first hit....

vimeo Different Drummer and NanoStudio composition demo

  • Thanks for the links @Trueyorky, fascinating stuff. Detailed history that I was not aware of.

  • I can see your first link just fine

  • Strange...I'm not seeing it on an iPad4 with Safari.

  • Can't see it on Air or 2 on Chrome either

  • Ah, I was looking at it on Windows/Chrome, don't see it on iPad4/Safari either.

  • Hi everyone,
Preview of work in progress about 'VCO Frequency Modulation' out in next update:

  • @Sinapsya (Just repeating myself in this thread :-) ) thank you so much for sharing this video on the improvements in train. Great work. Keep it up guys. Wonderful app to play with and make music with. Kudos.

  • Any idea as to when the update will be coming out? FM on the iVCS is a big deal for some of us. ;-)

  • You reported the bug on the 6th. A video was posted showing the fix in action (just on oscillators, not filters) just 4 days later. It's only been a week since then. Bearing in mind that FM of the filters still needed fixing and that there may be other features being worked on, then the whole lot needs thorough testing and that Apple's review process can often take a couple of weeks by itself, if not longer, I'd guess the answer to your question is probably "Not quite yet".

  • Jeez, he only asked for a status update....

  • In that case, my post contains infinitely more useful information than yours.

  • Well it was infinitely more condescending, anyway.

  • You feel I should have withheld some of the salient facts? Perhaps I shall bear that in mind if I ever find myself in a position to answer one of your enquiries...

  • Useful information would be something like "it's coming along great, almost done", or "submitted last week, waiting on Apple" or "ran into some problems, it's going to take longer than expected"

Your lecture and timeline isn't really telling us anything about how the fix is coming along.

That's because it's conjecture based on logical extrapolation of the few facts available, which is why I felt the need to explain it.

  • A guy from Synth Project are making a controller for iVCS3: http://www.synth-project.de

  • Dear Paul,
The reason for my relative lack of patience is that this 'bug' should not have made it past QC, IMO. Modulating different parameters at audio-rate speed is one of the best/popular things about the VCS3/Synthi, and this should have been included from the get-go.

  • edited March 2014

I wasn't rebuking or even mentioning any lack of patience, just stating a reasoned opinion and giving an explanation of that reasoning. With regard to the merits of their QC or lack thereof, it has no bearing on the timing factors that apply since the bug was reported.
