@azul3D_Apps Just to let you know, that worked perfectly. I thought it was a weird workflow at first but once I tried it with multiple midiFX in there it made a lot more sense. I like it.
@FastGhost, glad to hear it worked perfectly. Now, the issue is that there isn't a very straightforward way to send MIDI from one instance to more than one Logic Pro track and furthermore there isn't a way to filter MIDI channels. IMHO MIDI Routing is a huge omission by Apple in a product they call a Pro product. The roundabout way of doing it would be to save the motif. Then on each of the tracks open an instance of Piano Motifs and load the saved motif. After that, you can use another MIDI Fx app to filter the MIDI channel you want to be played on each track.
A new version of Piano Motifs (v4.32) is available for download. What’s new in this version:
• Added Power Chords for Chord Accompaniments. When this setting is On or Double and the accompaniment is a chord accompaniment (either randomly chosen or selected in the Accomp Style), the chords generated will be Power Chords (chords with the root and the fifth notes). When the setting is Double, either the root note or the fifth note (depending on the inversion of the chord) will be doubled at a higher octave.
• Fixed crash that could occur when the Melody Triplets setting is selected.
Power Chords are perfect for guitars with distortion. This is a video for a track using the new functionality :
Enjoy, and remember if you like Piano Motifs and all it’s new features please consider leaving a review in the App Store.
Awesome! Excited to try it out 🙌🏻
This and Riffler
All you need to create the A B and C sections of your next hit record
‘Enjoy, and remember if you like Piano Motifs and all it’s new features please consider leaving a review in the App Store’ …
…and perhaps (as he’s too modest to suggest it) tip the developer 😊💰💸💵💶🎹🎶🎼🎵🎹🎸🪗🪕🎷🎺
Looking forward to the additions, but right now, I don’t see a power chords option available in the update…
Edit: found it!
I don’t know if that’s been said but Piano Motif makes some of the best generative bass line on iOS. Set the octave to 1 / 2. Set the melody note frequency to 0. Give it some swing and experiment with the Accomp style. Use a mono synth for better results.
I’ve never tried it for bass lines. I’ll do that tonight. Thanks for the tip.
Yes 👏 for the amount of work put into this and all it offers for the price, I think a tip and a review is the least we can do. Crazy how far this app has come.
😎👍
I really like this new harmonic update. It has more uses that just guitars. It opens up the harmony for string arrangements in a way that I like. I got a lot of good loops out of it with a much high “hit ratio” than I’ve been getting.
Big TIP for the effort,
Thanks @ecou 😊, great tip for Piano Motifs users. I've been wanting to do a video that illustrates all the different Accomp Styles and how they can be used, let's see if I ever get some time to do it.
Thanks @GeoTony, @HotStrange and @McD, 😊 🙏!
@McD, would love to hear what you have come up with 🎼🎻🎶
For now, here is a video of a tutorial to very easily come up with a minimalist piano piece:
Very inspiring; thanks.
This is deep… brilliant demonstration of what can be done.
@Wrlds2ndBstGeoshredr, @ik2000 thanks!
I was going to try out your tutorial idea but I just noticed that since the recent update it doesn't show up as an auv3 in AUM for me. The stand alone opens but the au has disappeared ?
Hi @Stochastically, if you reinstalled Piano Motifs in standalone go to More Settings and tap Restore Purchases. If not, try closing AUM and reopening again. If this doesn’t work, try restarting your device (sometimes AUM won’t display new AUv3s unless you restart your device).
Also, make sure that the channel you’re using for Piano Motifs is a MIDI channel.
The restart worked ; thanks!
Will it be possible at some point to open up the chord progressions subsystem to allow the user to freely choose chords from any key as opposed to being limited to the parallel scale?
This feature as been added recently. You can find it under Alt scale chord

Wow, I missed that! Thanks for the heads up!
Thank you for this app @azul3D_Apps ! 💙
I have uploaded a tutorial where Alternate Scale Chords are used:

A small update to Piano Motifs (v4.33) is now available in the App Store. What’s new in this version:
• Added the ability to export MIDI file with a Melody Harmony on a 4th track, when Melody Harmony is On.
• Fixed crash when playing a motif after coming back from Arrangement Screen where Arrangement has a single section and the name of the file contains a “/“
• Fixed crash that can occur when programming some 7th chords with inversions and using Guitar Voicing.
Four tracks! Now were getting some solid arrangement material I can export/import into StaffPad to save hours of
Pencil data entry. Nice!
@McD, looking forward to hearing what you can do with this new feature in StaffPad.
BTW, being able to send the harmony on a separate MIDI channel to a Host has already existed for a while in the AUv3 MIDI Plug-In. This video shows Piano Motifs sending MIDI to 4 different MIDI channels in AUM:
A new version of Piano Motifs (v4.34) is now available in the App Store. What’s new in this version:
• Added a new Export MIDI option: MIDI - Multi Track. When this option is selected, one MIDI file is exported that has one track for the melody, multiple tracks for the notes of the accompaniment, another track with a sustain chord per bar, and another track with the melody harmony if Melody Harmony is On.
Try this new feature. You can get up to 8 tracks in a MIDI file:
Enjoy!
