The bar represents the probability from 0% to 100% of a note to play. This is useful to create variations in a clip.
Thanks for the explanation, I will try it later today when I'm off work 😊
@sinosoidal
So much fun...
Small suggestions for your consideration
The probability is great. Awesome for hihats and percussions.
I'm not sure about the visuals, though. If you have low probability and low velocity, the note becomes transparent.
Maybe it would be better to represent probability with a bar overlayed at the bottom of the note:
This is a really good suggestion. Thanks!
Actually not a bad idea, but maybe you should consider that it only works well with relatively long notes in a zoom-in of the grid. As soon as many short notes are spread over several octaves and maybe even over a larger number of bars you have to zoom in/out much more often to get a good read of the probability bar.
Thanks guys! That does make things a tad easier. It still doesn’t address being able to see the clip blocks (scenes) and their respective piano rolls at the same time, but I can work with that.
It works really well and gives nice variations in basslines and drum patterns 👍
When I'm using Shift, I always double tap to enable it, do something in Shift-mode and then double tap it again to disable it.
I never use hold Shift to do something in Shift-mode.
But I can see the problem with a toggle on/off Shift button for users who uses hold Shift. So maybe it's better to leave it as it is, it's not a big issue for me to double tap to enable/disable Shift 😊
That's huge..
good point, maybe a vertical bar would be better. It would be short, thus less precise, but you can always see a precise probability information by opening the editor, this should just give you a rough idea.
Maybe a Quantize to Key/Scale thingy in the piano-roll?
Same here, I never use shift hold, always double tap, and got used to it. Wish we could do without shift, but can understand the purpose.
@sinosoidal I can pretty consistently bring LK to freeze inside AUM when I try to record MIDI from my Artiphon Orba (single channel MIDI, not in MPE mode). Its pretty annoying. I also captured it on video. Shall I send it to you?
It happens to me too when using a midi controller, both with Korg nanoKEY Studio and Akai APC25. I sent a bug report via TestFlight.
Please do. Send me pvt message with link to the video! thx
We need to investigate.
Just to confirm I’ve had a few freezes with my APC25 in AUM as well.
Check how flat the notes are already at a vertical grid zoom of two octaves when it is stretched to about half of the screen, probably both a vertical and a horizontal bar will not be easy to read then. Not everyone has a 12.9 iPad and even on this one this concept will soon reach its limits. I think a good visibility of the status is given if the probability color has enough contrast to the grid color, that should do.
Anyone else having weird scaling on the Chorder screen (12.9” iPad Pro 2)?
Thanks for sending me the video. This is serious. We need to investigate. Others that are having LK freeze while using external controllers are keyboards are using iOS 14 as well?
Our development devices are still on iOS 13.
What do you mean by weird scaling?
What iOS version are you running?
Yes, iOS 14.2 here
Can you tell me if the problem is similar to @GrimLucky? @GrimLucky, are you able to share your video with @branis?
Been busy with work this week so not had a chance to play with this again, will try it later and record a video. It seemed to happen while recording clips and I had around 8 tracks going.
I believe we have identified the problem. Next beta hopefully should have the problem fixed.
By the way, our November Sale has begun!
That’s great, had a go tonight but didn’t have any freezes.
I bought matrix and trying to record something with AUM as a host. Is there a way to activate a metronome inside lk cause right now is almost impossible to record midi notes on time with AUM sequencing at the same time.
