That part seems to be fine for playback. I.e. when the AUM transport hits 1.1.0, it will start LK’s transport. But that doesn’t seem to work for recording.
@sinosoidal In context with AUM and playback in general: let's say you load a project with 8 tracks but you want to play only 4 of them after the start. This doesn't seem to be possible but is quite essential. Did I miss something? I can't find a way to mark single tracks as inactive to exclude them from playback for now to punch them in later. The workaround would be to first tap all tracks you want to play and leave out the other ones, stop the thereby automatically activated LK playback, then start the AUM playback. But this is cumbersome and unacceptable for a live performance. If there is an easy way, how do you do that?
I also noticed that the on/off playback status of single tracks is stored in a project at the time of saving. Accordingly tracks are played immediately after loading if they were active during saving. I don‘t think that‘s a good idea and should be amended.
-edit- Correction after retest: the playbacks status of the tracks is not saved in the project. But if the playback is activated within LK and remains activated, every in the meantime newly loaded project is played immediately. If this is intended, and this behaviour might be helpful in some situations on closer examination, it should be possible to be switched off.
Where can I find information about how to trigger LK’s MIDI clips with MIDI?
I can trigger clips from LK’s keyboard and pads, but if I route the same MIDI notes into LK from AUM’s keyboard those notes aren’t triggering the clips. Have I misconfigured something?
I get notes hanging after pressing stop (multi channel setup in AUM), tried different synths and different channels. Sometimes it works but most of the time the last note played in a sequence just hangs on one of the channels, only way to turn it of is to go in and change preset for the synth in question.
Anyone else have this issue?
@sinosoidal
Works for me.
I’ll post a video tomorrow. For the life of me I can’t get clips to trigger from the AUM keyboard routed into LK though it will work from LK’s pads or keyboard. Input is set to LK Input.
Unrelated, it looks like the pad and keyboard pages use different octave number. C4 is note 60 on the keyboard and C3 on the pads page.
Problem solved. User error. AUM’s keyboard was set to midi channel 2..which I don’t remember having changed from channel 1, but I must have done it and forgotten.
I installed lk demo version and trying to decide if buying the matrix module or not. I don't see a way to midi map my launch pro xl (the mixer version). Not even on AUM cause I don't see launching clip controls either. Is it not supported? This is essential for my workflow.... if I don't have a way to launch clips with my controllers then I'll keep waiting for Atom2 (which I was gonna buy anyway.... I can't fool myself
You need to select AUM’s keyboard as a MIDI source (either by tapping the keyboard icon or by tapping midi routing icon and checking the built in keyboard), select MIDI channel 1 (for some reason I can get it to work only on that channel) and a MIDI note. In my screenshot I selected note 36 which is C2 in AUM
Hi!
Maybe this is not possible in LK yet. I’m trying to make the last note in a pattern sustain the next time the loop starts over again. I haven’t found a way to do this in LK. I know this is a feature in Xequence 2. Can I do this in LK? @sinosoidal
To set the clip, scene launching settings, you bring up the properties for the clip or scene being launched. You choose channel and cc or note. It took me a while to realize.
@sinosoidal : it would be very helpful to have MIDI learn for setting the launch note or cc that didn't require diving into properties for each item. Is there a more straightforward method I've overlooked that doesn't require bringing up the properties for each item you want to control?
One of the brilliant things about ModStep is how quickly/easily you can assign the notes and controllers to what they control.
+1 on midi learn.
@sinosoidal : another LK request: text entry of numerical values if you double tap (Or maybe tap hold) a control. Setting up the midi channel, cc number and note name by dragging is fiddly. It can be tricky to set the number you want since when you release the number may jump.
+1
I think we have space to include a shift on each side of the transport bar. This would probably help.
Regarding the plus to add tracks and scenes. We have seen this request a lot of times. We need to think of an easier way to do it indeed.
It is not clear what you are actually doing. Please make us a video.
No. There isn't.
There is a workaround however, which is having a clip already on scene, with a certain length, in triggered state (clip was playing and then stop button of LK pressed). As soon as AUM finishes the pre, LK will start playing and if that track is arm, will allow recording into the clip too.
Yes, you have an arpeggiator built in.
Expressiveness will only work if the destination machine handles velocity. Maybe that snare preset on DRC doesn't have velocity affecting the signal amplitude (VEL slider in VCA tab of FILTER section).
Can you make us a video replicating this problem? It might be a bug.
It is not supported yet. We are always sending note off to notes playing before we loop. How do you do that in XSequence? Can you please make me a video? Send me via pvt message please.
I quite like AUM's solution on the channels, I'm not sure I want to see a + there all the time, so a swipe up on the track or scene area could reveal a +
No there isn't.
Indeed. However, LK was not build with that in mind. Adding that kind of support will require a massive refactor. We don't want to adventure ourselves in that task right now.
Hello sinosoidal
It is possible to create and select drum tracks for auv3 plugins such as ruismaker. Maybe Like in octachron or rozeta rhythm.
After the latest update in LK the DSP in AUM goes over 100% consistently when recording clips.
And this is on the latest iPad Pro, 12.9" version, just starting out a project with one clip and one synth.
Disappointing.
Sure but it might be me not fully understanding how to set it up. There's an individual start/stop for each track and I have now discovered I can turn it of that way. But that doesn't seem right so what should I do to make all LK-tracks listening to start/stop from the very beginning? (What does the headphone icon do?) Two tracks have imported midi and a third I draw some notes myself.
Anyway, there was one occasion when I had an AK-808 on one track and I couldn't even turn it off by changing preset on the 808 and thus had do delete it completely but that only happened once.
I will try to reproduce the problem as clear as possible and I'll send you the video via your mail.

Sorry, I don't understand what you mean with that. Can you make us a video?
Please demonstrate us your problem with a video. We can't reproduce this.
Sorry, I think it is important to refer that on LK, a track doesn't play. Clip does!
There is a stop all track clips button on each track. But there is no such thing as track start.
I don't fully understand what are you trying to achieve. I'm assuming you want the song to start as soon as you click play on AUM start button.
To accomplish that, you need to have the desired clips in triggered state. This happens when you have clips playing and then you stop the song in LK stop button or if you press stop on AUM. Then as soon as you hit play again, in either play buttons, they will automatically start.
Thanks!
I understand now. Actually, I would name your feature request as layout templates for the composer. This is an interesting feature but we might need a while to make it happen. Maybe when we get to folded notes.
