@blueveek don't forget that bundles tend to take days longer than apps to get approval. It seems to catch developers out a lot.

I actually didn't know that, never did an IAP or bundle before. Is this anecdotal or is there some specific limitation that I can learn more about somewhere?

Bundles can only be offered after the elements are listed in the App Store. So, I believe they can’t be set up prior to release...hence a lag.

This could work though, if it's clear in the description that a bundle is forthcoming which allows 1.0 users get 2.0 at no extra cost. Plus anyone who can't wait another week or would actually like to send some cash to @blueveek for all the hard work can just buy it straight away.

    👌🏾👌🏾💯

  • My opinion is you should be releasing it at 2.0 and charging everyone for it, no bundle. You’ve worked many many many hours on it I’m sure. If people can’t pay a few bucks for something that they will use for many hours of their own time, it feels unfair.

This truly is a vastly superior product and you should be compensated considering it’s a rewrite. MHO.

    i second that !

  • i have no problem paying again for this atom v2. heck rename it to particle or molecule and call it a new app for all i care, it looks very new and valuable

“Molecule” works for me. Or maybe Molekewl?

That sounds like the best solution to this quandary so far...

  • Oh just saw 17 new posts and thought.... ya you know.
Is there an ETA known? Still 2020?

Just speculation, but sounds like soon. Think he might just be adding the controller support.

I'm definitely aiming for 2020 for sure. Just a bit more work remaining on the Automation panel, but so far it would seem that the performance optimisations and engine correctness across older and newer hardware is all done. There's quite a bit of wacky and neat ideas to implement still, but it's all planned for a 2.x update.

In the meantime: automate tempo, swing, probability... you name it!

  • +1 @SpartanClownTide on bundle and paying if you want it on release. It will keep the majority happy and give us fans an opportunity to pay for this amazing upgrade..

  • @blueveek thanks for the headsup!
Really liking the progress so far and a worthy TWO.ZERO version ;)

One question though, will this be able to have a midi import with drag and drop from files app for instance?

    Boy, this looks cool!

  • I haven't gotten around to implement drag'n'drop yet, but it should be easy to do for 2.1. You get Files app integration and browsing though, and the file browser shows up inside the plugin for both Atom and MIDI files.

  • Awesome, thanks for drag and drop in advanced! @blueveek

  • This thing is becoming unreal. Can’t wait.

Just wanted to say, I'm ok with v2 bundle (new app). This looks epic! But I just want it sooner! 😁

  • Maybe sell some beta slots

    Yep.... early release for $20.... I’m in..😁

Release plz, nvm trains gone Drambo took care of it

  • Just in: you can pick any combination of note ONs, OFFs and/or note durations to quantise while recording. And it goes without saying that because it's non destructive, you can revert to the original "as-played" version, or mix in a percentage of it, even if you forgot to turn it off beforehand.

  • And something @tk32 coined: Loop legato, so your final note in the loop doesn't have to be cut off anymore. Means you can do anacrusis, or launch clips with lead-in.

  • Oh my gawd....

  • Don't know why but I'm salivating right now like my dog when I give him a toy.

Does this mean you can drone a note even though it is a midi loop?

It wasn't specifically built for that, since the tempo slider goes to 0.01x or even 0, so you can drone to your heart's content. But I like the idea of a dedicated Loop latch mode to go along Loop legato, where note offs that go beyond the loop endpoint are ignored.

Interesting :) so we inspire eachother 👊🏼🙃

  • YESSSSSS, loop legato! I get so annoyed when midi loops cut off longer notes at the end of the loop. So even during live recording (not just playback) it will capture the full length of a note if it's held down as the loop resets?

Also wondering how something like lead in would work? I get the concept of letting trailing notes ring out, but not how it would work for anacrusis.

Anacrusis and Loop Legato example (for @sloJordan )

In this example the melody starts on the final beat of the 4-bar phrase. I have my pattern set to gate mode (so that it keeps in sync with the host at all times) and the trigger beat set to 1 (so that I can trigger it just before the final beat of the phase). Loop legato is also enabled so the final note sustains through the first half of the first downbeat of the pattern.

The effect of this is that I can start my pattern with a pick-up (anacrusis) that leads into the downbeat

Here’s a short demo of it in action:
I’m re-uploading the video with better quality audio...
