Oh 5pin link on video duties use to do the BM3 tutorials
How about step sequencing? It'd be awesome to have tactile note input and editing, even better if you can select scales and constrain the pads to the key.
so what launchpads do you guys recommend for ipads and this app? are there bluetooth versions that can be used wirelessly, or does it all go through the camera connection kit ?
Holy crap. I haven’t been following this at all but what I’m seeing as the update is fantastic. Looks so much deeper and prettier than before.
No Bluetooth. Pro Mk3 is awesome. Has a standalone 4 track sequencer that can control hw or software. I would recommend looking up loopop's comparisons on YT.
Dooooope. Thanks!
Who knows how far Launchpad integration will go - I can see this could be possible eventually.
As a point of reference, I know Jürgen Moßgraber has done some incredible things scripting the Launchpad series to work in Bitwig and Reaper (including a step sequencer)

cool
thanks
Launchpads are a bit of a pain currently because they only power from the iPad if you have a USB-C socket (older lightning devices like my 2017 iPad Pro need a separate source of power for the Launchpad). Nevermind, I'll be fine when I next upgrade my iPad.
Other than that, I would probably recommend spending the extra to get a Launchpad X (instead of the entry-level Mini Mk3) as the X has full size pads and velocity sensitivity.
By the way, I should make it clear that NONE of the Launchpad's have Bluetooth or rechargeable batteries, so you will need to be tethered to your ipad via a powered USB hub or with a powered lightning-to-USB adaptor.
cool, i was just going to ask about powering it with ipad. this helps a lot. what do you use as a power source is it battery powered or plugin to outlet?
@eross
Currently I have the Apple official lightning to USB3 adaptor (which has a spare lightning port), and the power for both iPad and Launchpad is provided from my regular iPad charger, via the adaptor.
Powerbanks also work, but the Launchpad X is less portable so mine stays at home.
haha I was going to comment on that too
I’ve found that the mk3 mini works with an unpowered hub even with no powerbank connected.
No idea if this would apply to the bigger ones.
For whatever reason plugging my mpk mini directly to the cck, I get not enough power. But when I plug it into my non powered hub it works fine. Many accessories are like this. What's even more interesting is that my ssd drive will only work if it's plugged directly into the cck. 🤷🏾♂️
Btw, this is true for some non-powered hubs and not others-so you might need to experiment. I have to use this trick with one of my audio interfaces. Btw, many powered USB interfaces work in-powered. I have a Belkin interface that I use unpowered with an audio interface that complains about power when connected directly.
Hahahah!!!!
I can't count the number of times I've ignored this thread because the app was going to drop "sometime soon!"
At least when I was drawn back in this time I received a humorous reward!
Bless you.
No idea about the price tbh but @blueveek already said it's going to be a free update for us patiently waiting ATOM owners & fanboys.
I'm not in the beta team but it looks like our trust will be more than rewarded. 😇
I am on the beta team, and oh my gosh yes, this is worth the wait.
...I'm also a small part of the reason it's taking longer. Sorry.
Picky testers are needed to dig out all the annoying bugs, so no need to be sorry
The less WTF moments there are after release the better, right everyone?
Rarely any good product goes without it. What would LK be now without all the beta feedback?
Just getting into LK.
After all the others. Yes, stupid ThingyOS, I'm looking at you.
My god, it's full of stars. It works! Connects and everything. Well, I turned it off after I connected it but if I want to go back there, I know I can. Some time. Soon, honest.
And there is always Ver 2.1, 2.2, 2.3.
Well, another title would probably been better. A hundred days later "soon" is what people get annoyed by, not thorough testing.
so it looks that the best time for purchasing is now
Actually no. It seems there is always a longer delay getting bundles approved by Apple, so the best advice is to wait for launch and buy Atom 2.0 standalone.
...or you could buy both versions.
The free upgrade option will be delayed slightly (this is caused by Apple, not Blueveek)
Well, I took the plunge and just bought it. Here’s hoping it turns out ok...
So it's decided that Atom 2.0 will be a new app?
This is actually good news since it would bee a nightmare to convert/migrate all previous sessions to the new format...
Cheers!
