  • Played around with the mimoP<3P IAP in Gadget. Chicago House meets J-Pop :D
I enjoy the weird vocals but think the price of the recent IAPs is too high for what you get.

Unfortunately getting errors trying to upload to GadgetCloud… so used YT instead.

This Kawaii pack is good for when I want to re-create Zoolook B)

This 'pack' would not be needed at all if Gadget/Module had a proper built-in sampler with some editing capabilities B)

Really does start to feel like Korg has given up on iOS and is just milking the users bucks with the IAPs...

I imagine that they have stopped core Gadget development but wouldn’t be surprised if they had a more ambitious next gen, pro, buzz word thingy that they are cooking up.

    The Korg Kamechanger™️

  • Decided to buy mimoP💜P today (last day of sale).
I have nothing with Kawai but (as often) it’s fun to use outside of its context.
Some of these remind me of the vox samples for the Mirage.

  • There's a new soundpack available:

  • Oh dear. Am an utter cello tart.

  • There’s a solo violin as well which I don’t remember seeing before, maybe I missed it though.

When I see a Gadget update in the store my heart skips a beat⚡️ Hoping it’ll bring some awesome Triton-Opsix-Prophecy-Supersampler :D

Everything is on sale till April 28th

  • Oh dear another f*king IAP for Module...
...something is really wrong when the whole app needs to be updated to support new sample packs that are separate downloads anyway, like seriously?

Hehe 😁 you're so right on that.

I think it tells us a few things:

    • Korg did not originally plan on frequent IAP sample pack releases to be a primary revenue driver or they would likely have coded things so that an app update wasn't needed each time a new sample pack was ready
    • the apps don't generate enough revenue to put a lot of resources into rewriting them to be better in this regard

Hopefully, they are slowly and quietly working on a new generation of the apps, but only time will tell.

As both a completist and “cello tart” I picked up the Cellos. Seems like the pack loaded into Glasgow without a Gadget app update…

Side note, the list of presets I have in Glasgow now might be considered excessive.

  • I have a feeling they choose to introduce the new packs through an update so more people are notified this way.
Many wouldn’t notice these if they just appear in the IAP store.

I wonder if Korg would AU their gadgets and sell them seperately if people boycotted their boring sample-packs 😊

That could trigger a 'Users are no longer interested in buying KORG iOS products' and make the R&D/Software department drop everything related to iOS.

With that said I have no intention on buying any more Module IAPs unless it's a 'unlock full synthesis engine with user-sample import IAP' thingie...

  • Why do we get so excited about someone releasing a whole new app based on a few samples/sounds but absolutely slate Korg for releasing a steady flow of sound packs without introducing more features to what is already a very well featured app?

  • I think because while the gadget app is fairly strong as is, people would love the standalones to be auv3. Also, there are some workflow features gadget could add like keyboard support, more ifx, more midi tools, etc.

My conclusion on that whole topic is 'Stand up for the Little Guy vs. Big Bad Corporations' which is pretty weird to be honest.

I'm still a Korg fanboy but just releasing Module IAPs is really pushing it...
...I would happily pay a premium app-price for iTriton, iProphecy, iOpsix, iWaveState etc. for iOS/iPadOS.

    Thi$!

Whatever they do, if they release iTriton they should hire Martin Rev to promote the app. A beast on the Triton B)

That's almost as good as the "Look Mum, No Computer" guy.

  • I would kill for Korg to release an update to their apps that's not just more sounds. Fairbanks was the deathcry of any meaningful releases from Korg, iOS-wise.

  • I’ve heard this will be their next release:
