  • My favorite fact about the election. 2020/666=3.0330. Biden’s campaign text number was 30330. You can’t make this stuff up

I just hope that America moves forward in as many ways as possible, and that we deal with the current situation with much more unity now.

Whether America can heal some of its divisions will sadly depend a lot on our own paranoid conspiracy theorists. Trump has taken paranoid conspiracies mainstream. If the GOP keeps the “stolen election” whispers alive (as seems to be the case), healing will be minimal.

That’s true, but we can hope that once the “stolen election” bullshit has died down that there can be progress. Those type of theories have always been there, but without the platform of the presidency, I would think that Trump isn’t going to be doing much to push them anymore.

Why will it die down. It never died down for the Dems after Trump stole the election for HRC. I would expect 4 years of trying to impeach Biden or trying to invoke the 25th amendment calling him unfit for office. The only reason I don’t think they will relentlessly attack Biden the way they did Trump is because most people on the right think a Harris presidency would be much more dangerous than a Biden one. I think there is a divide that will only get deeper and a peaceful separation into two counties is the best outcome at this point.

Most people on the left don’t think the election was “stolen” in 2016...at least not in the sense of some fraud. There were widespread concerns that James Comey’s actions influenced the outcome and widespread discontent (which this election won’t have cured) that the electoral college has given a disproportionate voice to a non-representative population. The fact that this election was “close” demonstrates the truth of that latter concern.

    You don’t remember Russiagate?

What about it? It was real.

So now you're here to fill the role of junior conspiracy theorist?

I was responding to the person who said that most people on the left don’t think the 2016 election was stolen.

What role are you here to fill?

As for a Harris presidency, I do wonder what the real reason for Trump supporters thinking it is so dangerous - she’s certainly not on the “radical left” as Trump so often states.

    Just look at her.
You know why they are scared of her.

You are right about Biden having lots of old GOP buddies.
    Some have already congratulated him.
I wouldn’t be surprised if he puts some in his Cabinet.
    That would suck tremendously.

He said he would have Republicans on his staff if he won during his campaign. Cabinet members have no power just as the President doesn’t really have power. It’s all a dog and pony show so it doesn’t really matter.

If that is true, you should tell the Trump supporters that before they start their civil war.

I also remember, because apparently it’s my curse to remember stuff like this, various democrats making semi serious attempts to get electoral voters to switch to Hillary. The Trump freak out is way worse, but the Democratic response in 2016 wasn’t very dignified either.

99% of the global population will happily go along with whatever their “leaders” tell them. The other 1% will probably lead to increased terrorist attacks but there aren’t enough people that are passionate enough about anything to lead to a real civil war. In reality the most likely outcome is a globalist one world government and that’s where we are headed. Build back better!

Quite true. I actually have a track from that period called “Faithless Elector,” I’m mildly embarrassed to admit.

What part? I don’t believe that people on the left think the Russians stole the election.,I have literally not heard anyone say that. A lot of people believe (and this seems well documented) that Russia wanted Trump to win and engaged in tactics to influence opinion. Even Republicans in the Senate agree with that assessment.

That is very different from Trump’s unsubstantiated claims that there were millions of fraudulent votes in 2016 and enough to sway the election in 2020. He has offered no substantiation for those claims.

The result of this election shows it to be nearly 50/50 with each half viewing different people as leaders.

And if you think so many will happily go along with whatever their leader tells them, then what do you think will happen when that leader calls for civil war?
He is not calling for that outright, yet, but by refusing to concede and persisting with the claims of election fraud, it is strongly implied.

He may claim he is trying to use the courts, not violence, but he should strongly voice that to his seething mob if he truly does not want violence.

But, who are we trying to kid. Trump would love to see blood on American streets shed in his name, as long as he is safely locked away in the White House bunker.

Isn’t John C Dvorak that guy who predicted that the iPhone would be a colossal failure that would destroy Apple?

Think I’ll go to someone else for their opinions...

Nope. He was critical of the iPad and the mouse. But they do a great show and play news that you never hear in the mainstream media.

I didn’t realize he was wrong on the iPad in the emerging tablet market too:

“ The likelihood the winner will be Apple this time is low.”

Definitely not someone to go to for opinions...

    To each their own. <3

  • Dvorak was one of those silly MS-DOS nerd supremacists who insisted on printing his college papers on dot-matrics printers while mine were exquisitely formatted on a Mac with PageMaker with actual fonts and printed on the library Laserprinter.

  • I think a man who predicted that the iPhone would fail and take down Apple isn’t someone to go to for opinions on presidential planning.
