  • @Gavinski so when does the live chat open up? Is that the same time as the premiere, or before?

    Thx

  • I _think it is 30 mins before. Though I'll be taking part in Hainbach's premiere for some of that time!

Taking part?? A special guest appearence?? Hope you're getting a decent fee...!

  • They paid me in app codes for you guys 😂

  • Looks like an audio looper in effects chain but with sequencing. Improv is good ( with a hardware drum ) Always get bored of actually making a track.

  • Namechecked by Hainbach - you've made the big time @Gavinski ..👍

    Wow. Awesome.

  • Come in to the stream folks!

  • Does it make sense to compare and contrast with Enso and FieldScaper?

  • This is it — one feature I am missing but it may be down there somewhere. First blood.

  • So what's the verdict folks? I think this thing is the 💣

    It's awesome!
Just restarted the video after the premiere, while reading the manual. Loved those demos you did

So initial thoughts.. fantastic app. Love the texture it gives the sound. Snapping to musically relevant tape speeds is brilliant and makes it easy to dial in the right sounds too. It's an app with a small footprint and a handful of knobs, but it's an app to get lost in. I think the more time spent with this the more functions will be discovered.

One thing I think could be improved on though is exposing 'record' to midi, both from an accesibility standpoint, and from a functional one. As it is now 'record' is by manual press only. This app wasn't designed with perfect loops in mind, but it could be tricky if you're playing guitar, violin, or anything else two handed. Personally, I'd like to see 'record' exposed so that one could record on several instances simultaneously (as the app doesn't import audio files). Bram Bos is aware and said he'd think about it, in the premiere.

But I digress, buy this now!

Thank you aleyas. I had to push a little for more sync options, and got some concession but not as much as I wanted haha. I would still love an option for record sync

  • Awesome so far, only lasted thirty seconds of your premiere before I headed for the buy button. Now Bukowski and numbers stations are being tortured. Eventually back to your video though so I have a clue what I am doing 😆 Thanks!

  • That said, I fully understand why Hainbach doesn't want that. He wants to ouch people out of their comfort zone into making new things. And he's right, to an extent. I wouldn't have explored so many new things if this could function as a typical looper.

  • Looks great, this might be my excuse for not doing any more drawing this afternoon

I was quite lost with the sequencer when I got this. Its so simple once you understand though!

Great pair of premieres as well, lovely sounds as promised... I need to go back and rewatch last half as my delivery driver mate dropped some stuff off and we had our usual twenty minute chinwag on the doorstep 😆

By the way, 2 things I forgot to cover in the vid:
    1. shake your device to get warble
    2. Ability to turn off snap on the tape speed

Great vid as always - just the right balance between examples and tutorial - 10/10....Oh, you mean the app - ah well, that's an 11/10 at least - I'm not going to sleep for weeks. It's going to be interesting to take it outside for live ambient looping as well as working in AUM...love it...!

    I’d find that helpful!

    Obviously FS isn’t AUv3

Does this app allow you to change start position and length of the playback after you’ve recorded? Or just length?

  • @PZoo only length! I vastly prefer this to Enso. Fieldscaper is its own beast! Far wackier

  • This together with tape pro is the friggin LoFi looping 💣 @Gavinski

Thanks. Yeah Enso I like in theory, but have found it a challenge in use. this seems soooo much simpler. Agree on FS! I guess I like wacky 😁. But would love to at least be able to zoom in on playback on gauss (bonus points of could overdub subsections as well). Don’t need all of the other wackiness of FS for this
