I so want to get drunk with you. (Ps. What do those «arrows» mean?)
What constructive criticism? “I don’t like his nasally voice so I won’t buy his app.” Great feedback. Truly inspired.
Lets just get a plate of wings!
Anyone else getting crashes? Had a couple yesterday. Seems connected to recording.
I had one earlier when trying to change to a different project while playing the current one. There are some stability issues to be worked out for sure. Most likely the product of two devs who I don’t believe have ever worked together on something.
I’m liking the sounds I’m getting out of the app. The random button is great. Reminds me of the dictator in turnado but more musical. The pads with pitch and velocity sensing enabled also add to the app’s musicality. I use them like the one pad per screen view in NS2 Slate where you can get a lot of nuance through velocity sensitivity. Just record the beat in multiple passes one voice at a time. I’ve gotten usable results out of a single pattern just by manipulating the controls in real time and recording the results. All this for about the price of a coffee
Wait, it has a random button?
Check out the controls under the star button right hand side. Pin buttons allow you to control which channels controls get applied to.
Cheers. Will watch a vid. Have ignored this release so far.
It also randomizes all the samples on the pads if you hold down the dice for a few seconds..
Fun way to start a project if you don’t know where to start.. 👍
Just because something does meet your use case doesn't make it a con.
"what does it have that the others don't" is kind of the wrong question. It isn't that there is a single standout feature. It is simply that it was designed for people that don't gibe with those workflows. It is different in a way that makes it more engaging for some people. It is streamlined for certain sorts of tasks.
And for pros working fast is everything.
You don't need it.. that's fine...clearly some people really like it. It just isn't something you will like. It doesn't make it a con. Apps that overlap in functionality can feel different to different users in ways that make one or the other more engaging or usable.
This fills a need/vibe for some people just not you. if some people say it works for them that's enough for me even if I don't get why they are jazzed about something.
+1
Why not try it before you decide that? It's cheap and if you really hate it you could refund it.
I was skeptical for the same reasons you are and I don't give an app praise unless it really deserves it.
Have I made an angry remark? No but I see you have made quite a few assumptions there.
I am not a Huang fan, in general I avoid all of the youtubers like him.
It's not a wannabe "DAW POWER sampler lol." It's a super simple sampler app with a great UI that is very fast to work with.
Probably best to just move on if you have no interest here and put your energy into making music with Beathawk.
Seriously we heard you the first time you said that. 😂
Elastic drums dev is most certainly not “new on iOS”.
But like you said, you’re done now.
Do remember @ehehehe that Andrew and the devs are likely reading this thread and words can be hurtful. There's no harm in constructive criticism, but a good rule of thumb for forums is always 'would I phrase it this way if this person were in the room with me and I were actually talking to them directly'.
I literally just spent $12 on peanuts today,
We’re taking this person way too seriously. I’m guilty too, obviously. If they haven’t even used the app, what is this so-called constructive criticism of Flip based on? The App Store and website descriptions? Other people’s comments? Andrew Huang’s music? Pffft
Welcome back! I guess you weren’t done after all.
Where?
I just see a lot of hatred for Andrew Huang coming from you. You seem a little jealous there mate.
Plenty of people, including myself, have offered substantive responses explaining our views on the app. You started in with the “he’s too nasally so it must be trash”.
So now I ask, do the nurses at the home know you’re up this late? I hear it’s arts and crafts day tomorrow!
