    What do you think?

    I love this idea.

  • @rs2000 so i tried my best to recreate the session in AUM. AUM was maxing out around 60 percent or so, Drambo is straight glitch...

    Drambo is setup as :

    Track 1 : Riffer - MidiEcho - Rozeta Scaler - Imaginando DRC - FAC Bandit - MixBox - Pro R - AudioDamage EOS Verb - AudioDamage Pumphouse

Track 2 : Drambo AN KICK, Drambo Filter

    Track 3 : DrumComputer - FF Pro C - Drambo Filter

    Track 4 : OB - XD

    Track 5 : DRC - FAC Bandit - Pro Q - Drambo Shaper - Drambo Filter

Track 6 : Fractal Bits - K7D tape delay - Bleass Filter - EOS Verb

    SEND A : Pro R

Master : Looperator - Tape Pro - MDE Stereo - Pro MB - Bark Filter - Pro L

In the AUM session i used the AUM filter in place of drambos, and used Playbeat for the kick in place of AN KICK, but everything else was the same.

I do have somewhat of a fair amount of automation / P locks going on in drambo, nothing crazy, but still a fair amount. maybe 10 or so automated elements across the board. Hope this helps, let me know if you need anything else. Im loving drambo as a host, opens a whole world of possibility, would love it to be able to handle my heavy use of processing plugs!

  • @giku_beepstreet

When I rename an AUv3 module, save the song and open it again, the default name of the module is displayed again. Is this a bug or am I doing something wrong?

I also noticed with ChordBud 2, that the plug-in's chord sequencer is active even when ENABLED is OFF in Drambo's module properties.

did you hit enter? They don't save if you just tap away from properties menu, you have to hit enter/return

  • Does anyone know if there’s a way to control MIDI CC parameters from AUv3 plugins? I tried to see if I could use the MIDI CC Modulator, but no luck. I want to say take the filter cutoff of a synth, maybe the lfo, basically any of the knob parameters in a auv3 synth and be able to control them with Drambo’s automation and slider.

Do you mean controlling parameters OF the plugins with Drambo or sending midi cc's from midifx au's to Drambo? If former, you have to use the 'map' function, after which you'll get the corresponding knobs on the AU module panel, and then u'll be able to automate them in any way you like.

Cool thanks Eschatone. Silly of me. Was just seeing continua as a digital display with varying oscilators. Think Factory also has some wavetable.

    Wavestorm (formerly Scythe) is wavetable

  • Hi again. If i use audio interface, can i send master to outputs, process it with a hardware compressor and then send it back to ipad? Should be possible right? Don't have any hardware to try this myself atm. Thanks!

Yeah! The former, thanks. Where can I find the map function tho? I can’t seem to find it in the midi module select window.

Edit: nvm, I found it! This is hella cool!

Yes, I hit ENTER. The new name was correctly displayed in the module header.

Love it. Maybe a separate thread for Drambo Tennis. Make it a week long project with one Author of the file and n# of CoAuthors adding their spin on the track. Then start it fresh each week with a new Author.

  • Anyone else getting spikes on the processor meter and distortion?

I have drum computer, troublemaker and 4 segments and it won't go out of the red and audio distorted.

I have latency at 1024 samples and its a 2020 ipad pro

    Thanks

Yes I have the same, but only after saving, closing and then reloading a project. But not when I was building it?

Not sure when mine spiked. I replaced the segments apps with flexi sampler to chop my samples and that reduced it back down

Drambo's a beast, and the new AUV3 hosting capability is very cool. Since they can only be hosted in Drambo standalone, how do you get the audio out to other destinations, like AUM or Audiobus3?

It doesn't appear as an audio input in AB3. Only the Drambo AU version (which cannot host AUV3s) appears in AUM. Is there any kind of audio interop to a destination outside of Drambo? Even the Export Audio process in Drambo doesn't do a good job of recording trailing effects. I'll be trying IDAM to Logic Pro a bit later to see if Drambo sends to IDAM. But for now I don't understand how to use what you create with it in standalone.

With everything else to keep track of, Drambo hasn't been in my active list. I came back to it because of the AUV3 hosting, but that brought up my questions. I'm probably missing something, as usual.

    Edit:
Yes, Drambo standalone's audio is sent over IDAM. That means I can record it in Logic Pro, but I can't see a way to do that in iPadOS.

I must have been goofy to ask... ;)

  • so can you build songs with drambo, or is it more of a groovebox. i’d like to automate filters and pitch per scene without it affecting other scenes.
just curious if anybody has a link to building a complete song in drambo. i’d love to see the process

I am sure it’s documented somewhere but search didn’t turn up anything... very basic function question: how to mute the notes in the sequence without changing them when unmuted? When I tried it, the note got replaced by whichever note that the Keys happened to be on, i.e., not the original note.

i’d like to know this too

It's a great Groovebox for recording stems based on patterns and automations, but without the ability to record performances right now, it's missing a primary feature.

Seems like it only eats CPU in Drambo.. never had that issue in AUM..

I use it in zenbeats and aum with no CPU hit. Hopefully a bug that's ironed out

  • I think it’s likely a bug, I’ve had some unexpected spikes from apps I wouldn’t expect spikes from

yeah, that's what I alluded to above. No audio out from the standalone, only export audio. For Logic Pro users, they can record the IDAM audio, but there's no way to record it natively on the iPad. If there is, it'd be fabulous to know how.

  • so is there a way to change each tracks audio output to a send channel. then I could use a sampler to record the whole mix?
