Can you map drambo to a rotary controller so different tracks have same cc and midi channel but when you switch tracks. Drambo sorts it out ( dosent forget mappings ) ?

You can’t, this will be handled via control surface support when the time comes :)
For now you have to map everything individually. But if your controller supports relative midi, you can avoid jumping values.

Iv got a faderfox pc12. If I map scenes and have drums set to recieve midi always and the spare knobs to be a different midi channel. Then switching scenes will be ok to control the synth on track selected? Whilst drums be also ok?

Yes, that should be handled by Drambo fine.

With stems or recording. Does it record like aum. So if theres nothing on patterns and then something on other patterns. I can transfer to aum and use midi mixer for volumes ( because there might be apps that are also better in aum )

You can export patterns or arrange patterns into song (make sure to disable pattern looping in the transport section). Empty patterns will be respected and rendered as such.

Can sb drum be triggered by midi per track from drambo but be multi out audio like aum ( for au effects )

    Thanks.

Not sure what is sb drum. Multichannel AU is supported, so you can ‘treat‘ individual voices further inside Drambo, like in AUM. Multichannel interface support is yet to come - if you intend to ‘treat’ those voices outside Drambo.

Made faderfox knobs be snap. Still acts like a nanokey. Dont know why they even bother making non rotary encoders on controllers with scenes.

Would have been cool to see if it can work like a rotary encoder. Was that what I were assuming when you say relative mode?

Id still like to see it working better but think it might be good for all drums. Channels of drums without scenes and then a rotary encoder for some synths ( which might hopefully be better than switching drambo tracks, then switching scenes on controller and with whatever the control surface is )

    but rotary encoders essential.

Think where I have to set drambo to recieve on active track for synths because its with a microkey air. Its making it so I couldnt even map a few synths on faderfox to recieve midi ( on any )

Think I might stay in aum for now. I could still key the sequence on a track select basis with the microkey. P-lock some drambo synths when track is also selected but also tweaking another synth via screen or controller that cant be p-locked because aum is host.

Would it not ever have been possible to p-lock in aum. A module that adds knobs like it does in drambo.

    Thanks.

  • I’m bought Drambo when it was realised but i just started to dive in to it just 4-3 weeks ago. The deep i dive the better it is.
I have a real newbie question and it might have been answered earlier in this mega thread.

Can the 4 unassigned pads be used for anything?

    More tracks!

  • @sigma79 Most faderfoxes do have rotary encoders and I'm using one with scenes.
Got an older LC-2 with 4 endoders, 6 faders, one crossfader, scenes and a joystick and it works well (except that it does not support Bluetooth MIDI plugs 😢)

Go to main track - swipe sideways on one of the modules and select track from generators device section of the module browser.

Hep! I got it. Thanks @supadom and @Halftone.

    Cool rs.

Think I just need maybe sb to work in drambo. Multi out for effects and just patterns triggered via drambo. This way I can launch patterns via sb drum. Then add the patterns via drambo but p-lock sounds. Definately think I need another ipad.

Just gonna have to find synths that work well with faderfox. Pure acid for sure.

  • Hi again all Drambo black belts.

I’m struggeling a bit getting the shotsampler to work.

    I can record.
I can play and listen to the sampler in the editor.
I can move the left marker but it won’t stay in position.
I can't move the right marker.
Triggering the sample gives only a short “click sound”

When i just load a sample everything works just fine.

    What am i doing wrong?

After some cogitation, I believe that's SugarBytes Drum Computer, you know, sb drum. Brevity, wit, soul. Terse, hip.

Looks like you found a bug 😉 in the meantime, you can use Flexi sampler or save as preset and then reload.

    @Lorichs

You do it right, I just realized I did something wrong. Thanks! This will be fixed on upcoming update. Use Flexi sampler for recording until then.

  • @skrat @giku_beepstreet
    Thanks for the support 😊

  • Drambonauts: I have searched both AB Forums and the Drambo forums but haven't seen this covered anywhere. Is there a way to use MIDI notes to dial in the correct(ish) pitch in the Modal Resonator? I'm not looking to play the resonator like a keyboard so much as get some variation in the pitch that corresponds to the scale of the tune.

Pitch cv (key) to frequency of modal resonator. Does that work for you?

@aleyas My modal resonator doesn't have that Key knob in it. Did you customize your version and collapse the module?

  • From Drambo help page 5: Tap on a modulatable knob to create a new modulation, in this case from the pitch output (note symbol) in the Midi To CV module.

Right, OK, got it. Have my controller correctly pointing at Drambo, hit different keys, but I hear no difference in the pitch of the resonator. :/

This is why I curse at Drambo.

    But thanks for the tip!

Edit: should mention that I'm using this as an FX node on an audio channel in AUM.

Have you set a value on the key knob. The middle position is 0

It sets the modulation amount. In your case how much the resonators pitch will be modulated by the pitch cv.

Ah, that's why it goes in two directions! I've got it now. Thanks for your patience.

Checking the torso t1 sequencer and comparing ( the eulcidean to drambo )

Any tips on the sequencer. Can the base note be triggered via midi keys?

Thinking to buy a faderfox ec4 ( mainly for effects ) but some eucledean setup could be good with ec4.

These are the appealling products at the mo. Ec4 vs t1 sequencer.

Maybe just a pitch module would be better? Checks before commenting further

Not directly but you can either map an EC4 knob (MIDI CC) to Euclidean pitch/note or use a MIDI note to control a transposer after the Euclid. seq.

I would start with a few XY pads controlling various Euclid. seq. module params in Drambo instead. If it doesn't work out as expected, make sure the EC4 would add enough to justify the purchase.

Yeah. Right mate. Havent even finished mapping controllers and should use the sequencer more to be sure. Think it would have mainly been for effects but how much do you tweak effects if they arnt glitch etc. So maybe also to add controller to a synth also plus the eulcleadean. Still not sure for a while. Semi regret the £250 on swam and bluboard ( just becuase of cpu ) and decided not to buy its own dedicated ipad. Will use but could have bought something of more use.

  • Mapping controllers. Gone back to a standard setup. Nanokontrol for 8 drum volumes. 8 synth volumes. 16 drum patterns and 16 solos ( with led ) This will be good for live but I might end up not bothering to release live stuff. So the solos would just give me an idea of composition, which Id then trigger. So originally I thought its best to just launch effects via all the nanokontrol buttons and maybe a lot can just be added to audio.

Also mapped a nanokey to drambo which outputs to koala. So sequenced after keys.

Mapped sb drum to 8 rows on a faderfox. All the mod function amounts.

You know theres a space for a guass.

The few knobs spare will just be for chance of sequences.

So the ec4 might be ideal for effects.

Still mapping but feels good to not just be using screen again.

Mapped within a midi mixer template also. Think the use will be ( if everthing has a fader anyway ) for when you do actually record in aum. You could then mix again the audio, without having loads of copies of audio. Best £5.99 ever lol.
