Quick question? I can’t decide whether to go for the all time ab forum page record? Lol, I have no idea what that even is.. or start/maintain a Black Friday to NYDay sales thread, to keep it more compartmentalized. I was waiting for the first big wave of app sales and it looks like BF is starting a little early this year.
    So…. Options
    1. New end of year sales thread
    or
    2. keep this one going til 2022

    Quick show of numbers.

Keep this thread going. It's traditional at this point!

Buying late in a product's life cycle sometimes pays off, eh? Wish they had a proportional sale for the desktop versions.

Hmmm, Wondering if I should get this, even though I already have Puresynth platinum and most of the IAPs (Bassalicious 2, FM Tines, etc)

I am thinking to buy either of MKsensation Xtreme or Pure Synth® Platinum for my virtual instrument usage (cello, flute, piano, choir, violin etc). Which one I should buy? Are they realistic as much as Swam instruments, or close to?

Definitely SWAM if you want realistic sounding violin, flute, cello. Pure Synth Platinum has some nice basses, upright piano is a good "character" piano without being too janky, some of the organs and the add on EP are good.

@gregsmith Yeah IMPULSation has matched it’s lowest price ever. People argue between it and Thafknar, but they each have their advantages. Looks like Thafknar is free now, but requires A $2.99 IAP to get the convolution.

There's probably no real difference but I tend to use iMPULSation for reverb and Thfknar for guitar cabs. Speaking as a licensed Altiverb user on the desktop, the price of both IMPULSation and Thafkner is still a giveaway at full prices! :)

Agreed, no need to get iMPULSation if you have Thafknar already.
I wish the old AltiSpace would ever have become available as an audio unit...

Edit: V2 is here - seems like they've dropped the great envelope function though.

    https://apps.apple.com/en/app/altispace-2/id1580223509

I already own IMPULSation. Do I need altispace?. If altispace can load Ir’s I’m guessing it can serve the same purpose, for example guitar cabs, but it seems like it’s got more control and options…
Has anyone used Altispace as a guitar cab ir loader?

Lol I just watched that episode the other day too. Lol.

  • Looks like the wave of sales is starting!

  • UVI Sparkverb is a winner at 50% off. It’s as good as the Fabfilter reverb but with its own sonic fingerprint. It’s one of those rare reverbs where it’s difficult to make it sound bad.

It’s integrated into UVI Falcon on the desktop and that’s where I was first won over to its charms. The UX/UI is particuarly good.

What calculation led to that 50%? :)

I'd say no except if you want the additional processing in Altispace 2.
I've only used Thafknar to load guitar cab and guitar body IRs plus a few fun custom built IRs so far. You can always print a new envelope on an existing IR using a waveform editor or Drambo, I just found it much quicker to do in Altispace 1 directly. Bummer it's not available anymore and Altispace 2 can't do that.

Love a Rhodes but is there any point in NSK 2 if you already have NSK1 and Electric Vintage?

NSK2 is definitely more powerful than NSK1, with more sounds, although it’s interface is quiet different (personally I prefer the old interface).
I can’t honestly say it sounds superior to NSK1 but I haven’t spent ages A/Bing the two.
The main reasons, IMO, to get NSK2 are that it will definitely be supported in the future (not sure about NSK1), disc streaming - allowing you to store all the samples on SSD rather than taking up space on your iOS device, and that fact it is universal.
Electric vintage is great, but nothing like as powerful as NSK2 when it comes to fine-tuning your Rhodes.

Thanks for your comments. Agree about the interface. I think it’s a pass for now 🙏🏻

    Now that's what I call a thread.

  • I've seen that SynthMaster 2 has an "All Expansions bundle" options for $41.99 (not sure if it's a sale price). Do you know if that options unlocks all the IAPs for SM1 and Player as well? Will future expansions be covered as well? If so, it seems a very good deal!

My bad. Ravenscroft is 50% off, Sparkverb is approx 33% off. Either way, they're both very good buys at the current offer price.

In November 2020 "FabFilter Pro Bundle" was at $68 (43% off). Confirmed price in older thread as below:

    @sclurbs said:
Hey y'all, a few hours ago the bundle price was showing as 68$ but now it's at 89$. What happened?

Anyone know was it first time at $68 or it happened more than once in the past? Usually sale is at $89.99 (-25%) I think. Was it a two-level sale?: $119.99 -> $89.99 -> $67.99 -> $89.99 -> $119.99. Can anyone say more about it? Fingers crossed for the same offer this year.

Ps. AppSliced is a great archive of App price changes (and IAP - after manual mark), but... can we check somehow / somewhere the history of bundles price changes? (I'm afraid not).
