I'm liking so far. Only had a quick play before work.
The load folder per channel is genius and perfect for me in terms of how I like to build drums
As an alternative to a 16 lane sequencer you can stack lanes, if your sequencer can send different notes on each lane (like Drambo), then you don't really need 16 lanes. For example I just use 4 lanes:
1. Kick and lo tom
2. Snare / clap
3. Hats
4. Percs
Just use EG Pulse to sequence Drumkit
Isn’t Ochrachron limited to 8 tracks? Also, midi dreams/midi drums someone else suggested. I have and love all these apps but don’t know of a way to go to 16 lanes
i realllly do not need another drum synth, i rarely even use drums anymore on my iOS productions. but im still buying just to support FAC Devs. Love altesza and bandit.
Oh hell yes!!!! I downloaded this not knowing what to expect saw it was an AUM project and was like hmmm..l wonder how that’s going to work and how I’m going to load it, etc. Answer: it’s gonna work beautifully! Just clicked it and it opened in AUM. I didn’t know AUM presets were shareable, definitely not to this extent!
PS - love that you use the colors for the cells in AUM. I thought I was the only dweeb who did that!
Thank you sir!!!
Update is out already v1.1, at least that what FAC just tweeted.
Also embarrassed I didn’t figure this out myself but hey, what are friends for?! 🤣
You can always Use two instances of Octatrack. You can change the midi mapping and save custom presets. So for example I have 2 presets saved to play Digistix, 1 to play pad 1-8 and one to play pads 9-16. Open up 2 octa’s load one preset in each, connect both to Digistix and you’re off…
Are the presets shareable? If so, this should really get a patch storage. Would love to see some other kits. Working on something but it's difficult to get in the ballpark of what I want. Going to take some time to really find my sound with this. But I'm excited. Much easier than Drumcomputer.
Heck Use atom 2.
I know what you mean about wondering on this one and if it’s needed @poppadocrock but I have a very strong feeling you will be pleased and that some space will suddenly free up. I think it can do all types of drums well. Some of the presets sound acoustic-ish to my ears, others much more electronic. The sample + synth combo just leaves it wide open for possibilities. If it helps, for anything mid-tempo with a kind of chill feel, each of these sets would do great. That’s what my ear hears anyway. Not overly electronic and not obviously any one genre or flavor. I could see a lot of these going hip electronic hop-ish (chillhop?) personally, just may need to add hats and possibly a sharper snare
EG Pulse actually works really well as a sequencer if you are opposed to a piano roll. You can also sample right into it. Or of course Koala Sampler. It'll be awesome to get some sounds into my TR-6S and MC-101.
Haha! My pleasure
You can upload the preset files via the Files app. You need to zip first if uploading straight to the forum.
A Patchstorage would change the game, as long as kits got uploaded. I’m sure they will.
They are - pick up the *.userPreset files from the 'On My iPad' -> 'Drumkit' -> 'fac preset' -> 'export' folder.
They are a little over 190kB per preset and are self-contained.
Then place them in the corresponding 'import' folder and start the standalone Drumkit app to pull them in.
Renaming them will not work.
Awesome! This'll come in handy swapping presets between my devices. Thanks!
Yesssss! I'm hoping. I'm sure there are some great drum creators here.
Anyone have a drambo setup they’d be willing to share? I’m slow, I’ve only found how to set up 8 channels but everything defaults to c3 so I just have 8 bass drums - lol
If I recall and you are using drambo to trigger. You have to find the note on the keyboard for each drambo track.
Not sure why apps cant do midi out ch per pad ( like a launchpad ) and then be sequenced also.
and Drambo to support multi out audio ?
You know that in the standalone the interface scrolls if you swipe the background image outside the main UI, right?
In Cubasis, the AU loads in portrait mode of all things. In AUM, the window borders cut off the UI. It’s not a big deal, it’s just a thing. All is well in Drambo.
That, I did not know lol. Thanks @wim!
Each Drambo track will remember the last key you've hit on the keyboard on that track.
Not sure why you wouldn't do all the drums inside Drambo though.
I extended my 8-track sequencer for Ruismaker to 16 tracks here: https://patchstorage.com/general-midi-sequencer-16-tracks/
You don't have to find the right MIDI key because each track is forced to output a specific note starting from C1, so it should trigger each Drumkit pad. Let me know if you need any help.
Second experiment with FAC Drumkit (…this time trying it out in a rock song):
It’ll take a few weeks before I can dive in but I plan on using this to put together at least one sample pack.
No choke groups??
Needs a master out volume control.
Other than that ..... wow!
Yep, choke, master volume control, and the ability to solo in the edit screen. It’s close!
Oh, long press the loudest channel and drag down for master volume control.
Oh wow, that is cool as heck. Missed it in the manual, though it’s right there in plain sight. 😂
