@blueveek thanks. I will wait for the manual or some more videos.... I am sorry if I am frustrating you. 😂
The key thing is to think of an Atom 2 instance as single cell in LK’s matrix not like an LK track or scene. One Atom = one clip.
Far from it! Thanks for informing me about how you're using Atom. It's probably representative of how others do it too!
Works great, thank you again @blueveek!
Single Note Velocity
I Can Make it Work
Also For The Developer I Wish To Thank Him For This Excellent App !!!!!
I Have Little A Suggestion 9Could Be A Ton Of Work)
Maybe A Part On The Bottom Of The Window That Will Show All Control Data And Individual Notes Velocity (Similar To C*basis0
Would Be Super Great !!!!!!!
Thank You In Advance!!!!!!!!
Thank god we did though eh? My life has been significantly better with atom2. Haven’t even thought at it not having automation tbh.
Getting a lot of mileage out of Atom2 @blueveek finally. Here’s a little track composed while sitting on a four hour flight home:
A tutorial on the multi track import, layers, clipboard, patterns function will be highly appreciated... How to get the other tracks into the other ‘instances, etc..’
Thanks..
I jumped on the Atom 2 bandwagon after all the expectation and amazing demonstrations by all the crowd here and I'm very, very impressed. Everything in the app is beautifully designed to the last detail, and I love the flow of the piano roll, it feels nice to work on it. After using it for a while and following forum discussions, however, I've realized that for one reason or another, it's come to be very centered around the Launchpad controllers. It seems incredibly efficient at doing so and that's a win all by itself, but not all of us have them or are interested in buying one anytime soon, so at the moment some of the many capabilities of A2PR are still in the background.
On the other hand, I have an old iPad mini 2gen which I've been hoping to integrate into my workflow, and I feel this might be a good way of doing so. The mini is stuck in iOS 9.0, so many of the more modern apps don't run, but the device is still very capable as a controller. So, what I'd wish to have is a full-functioning Launchpad clone in the mini (running in iOS9) that could be used to control Atom on another iPad etc. AUM runs on the mini, so connecting them through Bluetooth is a breeze.
I made a quick video as a proof of concept (I know it sounds like cr*, many apologies). Here, the iPad Air (4gen) is running three tracks of Atom, controlling (1) an instance of Korg Module (controlled by the minilab), (2) an instance of Rozeta XOX controlling Ruismaker (atoms switch patterns through midi notes) and (3) samples from the microfreak in Koala (screenshot below). On the iPad mini, I have a template from Midi Studio with pads, which mapped to notes in the C-1 range to launch/stop the atoms in the Air. The microfreak is coming through an audio input and is processed by Granular, mapped to half of the knobs in the minilab.
The main disadvantage with this solution is that the MidiStudio pads don't have feedback on the state of the Atoms, and can only launch/stop (not record, launch scenes, etc). It seems there are a few clones of the Launchpad devices for iOS, but the only one I found which runs on iOS9 does not seem to work with Ableton, and I haven't tried to see if it will work with the Atom script. TouchOSC, MidiDesigner, and Lemur also have templates for Ableton, so it could be a start, but I don't own either of them.
So, I lack any programming skills to take up such a task so I'm throwing the idea out there if anyone would like to take it up.
I think it would be fantastic to have an extralight app either as AU or standalone that could control Atom as powerfully as Launchpads can—at the very least, it could be a way to stave off planed obsolescence and keep the lithium in our old devices off the environment for a while.
I’m not sure if I’m understanding this mode properly, but since i used Ableton for years i thought i did but i might be missing a key set up feature here...
So i have to atom clips set to track one.... in Ableton style..
So it says here “stops when another clip on the same track takes over”
However when i launch the second atom on the same track (1:2), track one does not stop, it continues to loop along with the second atom on the same track
What am i doing wrong
That behavior will only work at this time in conjunction with a LaunchPad. The LaunchPad integration takes care of stopping the other atoms on the same track.
A way to do this without a LaunchPad is in the works. Details here: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/comment/928706/#Comment_928706
Thank ya wim! I have up until this point being using Lk to launch clips with the loop off in one shot mode as it automatically plays the clip again when Lk loops, but then i noticed the Ableton/launchpad options so figured i would try it... makes sense that it works with the LP only at this time since that’s how the controller behaves... looks like the option is coming in an update but i really need to buy a launchpad now LOL
Shut. Up.
I can't hear you! Nyah Nyah Nyah.
Actually, I have this 16 button mini controller I made and am gonna try to ward off the launchpad purchase by geeking out trying to write a custom controller script for it. Maybe that'll help me stave off the impulse buy for a bit at least.
If you lived near Stockholm you could buy my Launchpad Pro extremly cheap...
Almost never used - not my kind of playing - although I like it in Beatmaker 3 (pads on the screen)...
Hahaha ikr!!!
I’m trying to use my novation circuit with atom, and i thought i could launch clips with the patterns mode on circuit since it is essentially a launch pad in that mode, but those buttons will not midi learn in AUM so i guess they don’t send out any midi cc or pc , i can launch clips with notes in the notes mode but it still isn’t stopping a clip like it would in pattern mode since in the circuit, like the LP only one clip from each instrument can play at a time
I see that everybody talks about gen3 of Launchpad Pro, but, my gen2 of LPP, what’s wrong with that model?
Anything missing?
Thanks. I'm interested in feeding Atom by some chords/bas/leads. Sometimes I don't have keyboard to play and have Ipad with me, so for start I would export to the cloud all what I already did in Gadget.
But tell me, does chordbot allows to change length of chords?
Here's a barebones template for scripting that I've just made: https://github.com/victorporof/atom/blob/master/Controllers/Example.js
Should be good to get anyone started.
Ya I’ve been messing with this for an hour and i don’t understand why this isn’t working!
Patterns mode is a launchpad! LOL
I think they just want you to have to buy both products!
If anyone with a circuit can figure this out that would be awesome.
It’s also kinda nuts that they charge 349 for a launchpad pro and 399 for the new circuit tracks.
IMO
It could benefit from a custom script, I doubt the Launchpad and Circuit speak the exact same language. However, MIDI learn for the launch button at least should work flawlessly. Without owning the hardware though I'm not sure what's going on.
Ya the issue is falling on the circuit side for sure, the launch button midi learn works on everything I’ve tried other than the patterns buttons on circuit. I think they don’t have it set up to send cc or pc when switched to that mode probably for this reason, so that you have pick up a launchpad 😂
I guess business is business tho lol. Def would be awesome tho if it was something a custom script could work it out, maybe someone with the circuit will figure it out down the road!
@blueveek hi there, is there a way to select all notes ? i’m not able to scroll up down while selecting.
@Paa89 Double tap and you should be able to select all the notes.
More clear :-) - doubletap on the Select button...
And, you can button Pattern, there you press button ”All notes”...
Here is a quick guide to the universal gestures and note tools available in Atom2 - taken from the upcoming manual (which will be ready later this week)
DRAFT:
All sorted guys, thanks for the help.💪🏾
