Can you post a picture of your neon window zoomed in like in mine?

Does the sample rate or mono vs stereo make a difference?

  • I don't know about the sample rate, didn't find where to find it in neon, I bought it yesterday. I record audio with an AT2050 plugged in a scarlet.
I'd have to try to load some other samples form the Mac in various sample rates and channels.

  • also, the volume cursor on the right does nothing.

  • anyways, since it's working on anyone else's iPad and not mine, the issue is in my iPad, whatever it can be.
Gonna try another audio editor, and wait for some update in neon to see if there is a change.

I wonder if it could have something to do with the length of that recording? If Neon is loading all 22 minutes into RAM, perhaps it's getting bogged down trying to deal at the sample level. Have you tried on any shorter samples?

I'm just throwing out guesses. Everything is working fine in Neon here.

will give it a try too, but I really don't want to fight this app more than I already did.

In the end, even if I could select to the sample like anyone else, it wouldn't be of much help because there is no vertical scaling.

I'd really like it if the 15min limit could be removed from the stand alone version. I understand why it's there as AUv3. I mostly use Neon to normalise / apply FAC Maximiser to a longer recorded session, which it does in seconds  , but the 15min limit as stand alone is frustrating for me.

I had a reply from Paul via youtube, he agree's it doesn't have to be there and will try and remove it, although there are considerations that need to be reviewed before he makes any changes.

  • direct disc streaming! like audio layer would be great

    .

  • Manual slice dosent work like via tuturial.

Where you go to slice mode. Drag the purple high lighter.

Only using the app because its got a timeline.

Unlike flexi sampler. Which simply lets you tap screen to place a marker.

  • The basic function at .48 dosent work.

  • So annoying lol.

You need a vid and it still dosent work.

    To add a marker.

    Have you contacted the developer?

  • Has manual been removed?

    No.

    Have you got the app?

Its why I dont bother with music making.

    Theres problems everytime you begin.

Can anyone confirm how you manually make a slice?

because even if you dont use manual.

You cant then add a slice.

In manual mode, tap Edit to make it active. Tap and drag in the waveform to select some audio and a slice is created when you lift your finger.

    Works lol.

I were using the timeline part.

    Ipad saved.

    Cheers.

Hey Sigma79 it's all working my end, just like the vid @.48 - manual slices but I do have to just slightly pause between tapping the screen and dragging or the whole timeline moves - is that the issue?

    Hi.

    Its cool.

    Never needed to slice.

    espiegel solved issue.

    Thanks tho.

  • Am I correct in assuming this can be loaded into an AUM effects slot to record loops from other apps? I’m thinking of buying this so I can use it to record drum and other loops directly from various apps to then mangle or store for later.

    Yes.

    Yes.

Great thanks! This is an app I’ve been needing and didn’t even know. Much easier than screen recording and converting to files or exporting from standalone apps themselves. I’ll still do that for some apps but this will help a lot.

AUM can record those for you too. Neon is unnecessary if all you need is to record.

I was gonna say that too but I figured an editor was the main need, with the ability to record in an FX slot a nice feature to have. 🤷🏼‍♂️

Definitely but I like the idea of having the editing options there as well. Saves me from having to bounce things around. And the clip launcher seems like a good addition.

Where does Neon save files on ipad.

How would you restore from backup whats saved in Neon.

Or do you send a copy to files app?

Maybe use Koala. To send to files. Use sample crate?

Do you mean where are the files in the "Media Bay" stored? That appears to be in the internal app storage space, which isn't accessible as far as I can tell.

How would you restore from backup whats saved in Neon.

Or do you send a copy to files app?

I think that's what you'd need to do.

Neon can export to any location the files app can reach without a helper app, but only one file at a time.

@Wim is correct about exporting files, however I was able to create a folder within the Audio Pool, select it, and then click "Share" and "Save to Files" in the popup dialog and save a folder which had multiple files in it. So it appears that if you have a folder inside the Audio Pool, you can export all files within the folder at once. So unless you already have folders inside of the Audio Pool in place, it would require copying each file to a new folder inside the Audio Pool first, then exporting the folder, so basically same amount of effort would be required to export them one at a time directly to the files app. I presume it would be the same for the Exported Files and Sessions sections as well.

Thanks I didn’t know about the folder export. It didn’t looked like there was a way to do that when I tried.
