Cheers, I might, though I’m a bit old school with that sort of thing, it’s so much faster reading than listening 😁
I was using this morning and thought it would be good if...
1. There was a search in the media bay. I've got my sample library in there now. So would be good search for "kick" across folders
2. Select menu - not a major one but other editors have an option for select from here_to_end or here_to_beginning or invert_selection. As an example, its good if you want to remove a small part from the beginning of a big file.
Loving how I can import music from my Music.app and chop to sample.

Has anyone figured out if it’s possible to select and operate on only one side of a stereo sample?
The Neon sale only lasted a day. Blink and you miss it.
It’ll be back soon enough, i guess it’s reached the rotation now…
There is deep search feature in the media bay when it’s full screen. Pull down in the file listing area to expose the search box.
Here’s a YT video showing the feature in action:
Looking at the pads at the beginning of this video… We really need an AUM update.. or a 4Pockets Host…
Nice to see the developer has long term goals for these apps..
@GRiker thanks. Lots of hidden features in Neon. I've watched all the videos but maybe need to take notes to remember everything!
Were Paul going to extend record time?
I will use neon with MTR but might be cool to clip launch ( instead align via MTR ) longer tracks made in aum.
I just added about 50 neons/mtr. Just so I didnt needed to crop audio for any clip launching and wondered why my ipad were like a device, Ethan Hawk would be dealing with. When neon is a good editor. So no need.
There's a new video from Paul:
Cool
Great... A new AUM update is on the way... Seems Scenes Snapshot will work nicely here...
Looking forward.
Beyond 15 minutes?? Not likely. AUv3's have limited amount of RAM available to them and they don't provide any warnings or safeguards to prevent crashes if they run out of ram.
Can recording be synchronized to host start or next measure?
Hello everyone. Can someone enlighten me if Neon Audio Editor has Ableton/FL Studio type audio warping feature? I would like to use it to correct any timing problem after I play electric guitar. If the app has this feature, how can we do it? Thanks in advance.
Yes, it has the ability to warp slices.
I'm not sure I'm using it right though. It doesn't work the way I'd expect it to at all. You might need to dive into those videos to see if its what you're looking for. TBH at first glance it seems ... terrible. But it could well be me just not understanding Neon well enough yet.
Auditor works much more like what I'd expect than this.
Is this the BM3 Sampler AU that we have been longing for?
Nice... Thanks..
Not yet, you can't play the sample as a poly-chromatic instrument, apply pitch-envelopes and filters or any other modulation to the sound. If I need BM3 I'll just use BM3
OK... Hopefully it gets there...
If we are going to use it as a sampler (in stacks etc) it would be nice if it had a row (or menu button) for non-destructive sound shaping tools like basic AmpEnv, 1 knob HP/LP filter, Pan, Vol, Gain etc like Segments does
That would be a long, long, long road. I don't think it's even trying to play that role.
Isn’t that what Chameleon sampler is for in the 4Pockets’ product line? (I don’t have BM3 or Chameleon so can’t compare)
Basically - on launch at least - Neon was an audio editor and I’m sure it wasn’t meant to replace one of their existing products.
Guess that was the idea but since almost everyone is looking a clip launcher and something similar to Ableton Simpler, Cubase Sampler Track, Logic's Quick Sampler or even Serato Sample (Ie. take a single sample/loop, slice and dice it and treat it like an instrument), this causes 'feature creep' for any sampler app on iOS/iPadOS until a properly working solution is in place...
I'm happy with Koala, BM3 and Drambo that cover most of my sampling needs but I'm still looking for an 'integrated solution' for the iPad. (I'm quite fed up setting up AUM sessions and tend to stick to using one app at the time to keep focus).
I’ve been trying to find out how but haven’t had any luck, how do you export a file as 24 bit? I saw that it was added but can’t figure out how to change it
With the Media Bay open, select the Exported Files tab. Touch Save, then the list of supported formats is displayed, including WAV (24Bit).
Thank you!
Does Neon overdub? Practising scratching.
Either Neon or loopy. To overdub. Auto launch set to bars. Then maybe an effect of sampling/cueing the next track. Which is like cutting ( in ) the beat. Maybe variations of effect and or/probabilty of effect/gate/on,off.
With a good drum app. Either sequenced or audio. Would be easy to use aum instead of an exterior dj program. To make drum beats. Then repeat making different drum beats. With the threshold. Auto launch and overdub for basses/synths.
Overdub volume control and track limiter.
