Exciting times, people. This is a first look at LOOPY PRO: A professional live-looper, sampler and sequencer for iPad and iPhone. Coming very soon – subscribe at https://loopypro.com for news, and beta access when the time comes (VERY soon)!

It's been a long time coming. But I think you'll agree, it'll be worth the wait.

Great presentation. That video was soooo well done.

Apart from that lip syncing decision .... that was well weird ... 🤔 😀

And the utterly dreadful background music....

  • @Michael
To be perfectly honest, as it will be at 1.0, you probably won’t be doing full tracks from start to finish in it, because I haven’t built automation tracks or straight audio tracks in the sequencer yet, and midi tracks are also still to come.

That will all be coming after initial release. But yeah, this is one of my goals.

    👀😱

  • Wow!

The only thing missing is an iPad with a real guitar input…

  • @oldschoolwillie said:
    Can you import loops?

    Of course!

Does it have a Sample editor like BM3 that can chop and warp...would be nice

    Nope, not yet

I would be happy to pay 50 bucks for it! This is a daw, you can charge daw prices imho

Yeah, I suggest Michael to charge us 50-80 bucks - his generosity to host us here on his adfree site is amazing!

If you are talking about Liberian Dollars then that converts to about £0.22 in the UK at the current exchange rate, so that could work.

  • @Michael Nicely done good sir.

Looks like you've managed to create a workflow with both ease of use, and powerful artist-focused customisation within the same app. This is a difficult thing to pull off, but ease of use was one of the things that made the original Loopy apps so great. Glad to see this remains a primary focus in Loopy Po, and you've managed to achieve this in a manner that doesn't limit those artists that want to push things far further with their loop-based creative explorations.

Now THIS is a job for the GREAT GAVINSKI!!!

I think Gavinski is in the middle of taking some time out. Best wishes to you if you are reading this 😃

Thanks, that is true, who knows, I might come out of the woodwork to make a walkthrough on this, because I can see this being something I would want to learn back to front, but at the moment I'm really enjoying making my #shorts and spending less time reading manuals, doing walkthroughs etc 👍

Much as I enjoy your magnificent videos you are truly entitled to a wonderful break. Even though this may bring you back.

  • Good lord, Michael.

And you found time to have kids during development of this?

Can I buy Loopy Pro more than once? Cause damn!

  • One thing I was freeze faming the video hoping to see was something about tempo changes in a song. Thats a super fundamental music feature that has been missing in some otherwise well featured iOS hosts.

Pretty churlish of me to chip in with that without offering something positive too. Apologies. I meant no disrespect to you personally mate.
Wishing you well with this app, sincerely :)

Completing tracks? Well where’s the fun in that? 😁

the concept of automation prebuilt and applied before loop has been made is kind of doing my heaD INlike its too good to be true. this is truely the one app I have desired the most ever since I started using apps for music production

  • again I just want to add...I jizzed in my pants......thus suspense and the wait is killing me.

You can already automate this using a follow action or a widget, but further automation from the sequence screen will be coming post release. I just wanted to get this damn thing out first.

Yeah, I suggest Michael to charge us 50-80 bucks - his generosity to host us here on his adfree site is amazing!

There is a whole pricing strategy thread here: https://forum.audiob.us/discussion/46425/breakout-discussion-of-pricing-business-models-from-loopy-pro-thread#latest. And there is a ton of really smart discussion about subscriptions, paid vs. free-intro apps, IAPs etc. and the price points that people will be willing to pay.

There are entire fields of study on pricing both in marketing and in economics and both of your suggestions are rather lacking in any reasoning why $50 or $80 is the right price point. If I were Michael I'd take the suggestion as one or two anecdotes of potential buyers who might represent a slice of potential buyers. But I wouldn't make any decisions on your suggestion that it is the right price point.

Personally $50 apps are likely beyond my limit as a hobbyist. $35 is right on the edge. But that is one anecdote, and just one potential missed buyer. And maybe I represent also a small slice of dabblers who don't use apps to make music for anyone but themselves. And I've never had to pay $1,500 for a synth or $500 for a hardware looper, and if I had I'd never have gotten into this little hobby - I'd have just stuck with GarageBand and likely produced exactly the same quantity of music!

    Quite.
It’s not going to be on sale for several months yet though. There is a public beta test that you can join so you get the app for free, give feedback as you use it and then you can buy it on the completion of testing.

Nice… How about Key detect/transpose (Scale too, if Possible)... Like Blocs Wave and Launchpad... How about transposing the key of the whole project in Loopy... Like Launchpad..?

You can if you’re gifting it to others🙂

I refuse to buy it for less than $3500. I'm a man of my principles.

Has the beta testing opened up to those who signed up for it via the website email list or is that still pending? Hope I didn’t miss that e-mail! Or is there a public link?

Im pretty set in my ways, but my interest is piqued and its the first thing in a while I could see myself learning front to back if some of my ideas for doing songs in it work as well as it seems they will.

Public beta (sign up on website) hasn’t opened yet but Michael said earlier in the thread that it would be within days now.

  • Oh yeah, finally ! So excited ! Thanks a lot ! :)

I have a number of apps I’ve never gotten around to learning. I’ve come to realize that the more complexity and menu diving, the less likely I learn it. That creates a sticky price point for me. Michael should get as much as he can; I’m just throwing this personal self-observation out there.
