Yep, OK. If I only have two buttons and I have four scenes, I'm about halfway to my goal. BUT! I can use old tricks to make this work. I can add Mozaic as a helper to "add 1" to the last note in order to fire off multiple notes to trigger multiple scenes.

    That's actually a really good idea. 👍🏼

I didn't realize you were working with an external controller. Needing the previous and next functions makes more sense now.

Yep, i have this cool Wave ring that has two buttons for controlling scenes when i have a guitar in my hands (i play finger pick style). Anyway, thanks for helping me think through this. Loopy Pro is so powerful and I love the “canvas” approach to visualizing a complete set up.

  • Anyone here have this issue? Parameter settings for the x-y pad do not save with the project. I change the params, save project and when I later reopen the project, the old params are there. (Bug report sent to Michael as well.)

    Thanks.

    Thanks.

By 'parameter settings' do you mean the position of the 'cursor' in the xy-pad or the settings that you set up in the panel?

  • Hi, am trying a bit of beatboxing, which is a first for me but with some pretty good results so far.
Can anyone tell me how I can trigger clips to play from the same grid since I seem only able to configure them to use a specific clip? I use the top orange clips to build my loops and then fire them from the grid triggers recording them to blue clips below. Works well but each time I have to reassign a clip to use as the source clip.
    Any help always appreciated.

Button grids are tied to specific clips by design. You can map triggers to midi. You could set up multiple button grids and set up midi triggers to trigger the particular grid points of interest.

Thanks @espiegel123 just seen a guy beatboxing and using the same button grid to fire different sample clips. But reflection it is great fun to fire the button grid with my Launchpad not Mk, so I could dived it up to fire say six diffrent clips using six grid buttons live.

Where did you see the same button grid used for different clips (without reassigning)?

It’s important to note that you can construct a grid of buttons in the Loopy Pro interface, one button at a time, with each button mapped to an individual clip, but the button-grid widget in the interface is tied to a specific clip and used for slicing.

@Toastedghost : you could use faux-button grids buttons as described above to trigger individual cells of true button grids by sending midi. (You can midi map/learn individual button grid cells)

  • Anyone got NanoStudio 2 working with loopy pro ?

Can you be more specific about what you're trying to do and what's not working? I can imagine multiple ways to interpret your question.

  • @wim
    Adding nano to loopy pro
    Link doesn’t seem to work
NanoStudio not starting/stopping with loopys play button
    Am I doing something wrong

It works here. Did you check that both Link and Link Start/Stop are enabled in NS2 and in Audiobus Loopy Pro? In NS2 both buttons need to be engaged (Blue).

  • @wim

I am just running loopy pro stand alone
Then adding NanoStudio as an IAA
Everything else I have opened in loopy stand alone as a IAA or av3 behave fine
I am trying to not use audiobus or AUM

Ooops. I have no idea why I wrote Audiobus when I meant Loopy Pro. What I meant to say is to check to be sure that Link Start/Stop is enabled in both NS2 and Loopy Pro. If you have both Link and Link Start/Stop enabled in both apps then it should work. It does for me.

    Sorry for the confusion.

  • @wim
    Thanks
Was also confused when you mentioned audiobus
    Ok
Noticed I had link disabled in loopy pro
Just tried a new project, NanoStudio now works with LINK, but Sounds like it’s playing back my audio twice from NanoStudio
    Strange

Note that there is a bug in Loopy Pro that can result in it starting too soon in relation to the other linked app.

  • Thanks for the replies guys
    Always helpful and fast

  • Alright I’m finally getting into Loopy Pro, and I’m thinking maybe I have something weird in the settings? I keep picking up the background noise in each loop I make. In other words if I’m looping in channel 5, I can hear channels 1-4 lightly in the background. Is there a monitoring setting to adjust this?

Try muting the microphone input. You may be getting the output of the speakers coming in through the mic.

If that doesn't fix it then you might want to try going to Settings > Clip Settings, then scrolling to the bottom where there's a button to restore default settings.

  • I think your microphone might be picking up the sound from your speakers. Try muting the mic input.

If those tips didn't help, please post a screenshot of your Loopy Pro mixer and describe what is connected and what you are using for input and output.

Thanks I’ll give this a shot. Somehow I didn’t even think to check that 🤦🏻‍♂️

  • Took the tour and perused the manual, but this question remains: is there a widget action that will double or halve the length of a loop BEFORE recording. I can do it by opening the info window and manually moving the slider, but would like to have a button do it. Thanks.

If you want a fix sized loop I recommend using the master clock and auto count out rather than setting the clip length. There are actions to set the clock length to half or double the current length or to a particular number.

Would be nice if you didnt have to click on master clock screen to play with the loop numbers. Alot of times i forget what i am on.

You can make buttons to do that.
